Jessica Macks is a she-wolf on the run from a band of murderous rogues. When she finds a job at a shifter bar, it seems like a safe haven from her hunted life on the road. But the minute she walks through the swinging doors of the Blue Moon Saloon and comes face-to-face with the man she once loved, she’s tempted to march right back out. No way, no how is she risking her heart to that infuriating alpha bear again.
Simon Voss thought he lost everything in an ambush months before: his home, his family, his past. His new job at the Blue Moon Saloon is a desperately needed fresh start on life. Then along comes Jessica, the irresistible she-wolf his clan forced him to reject years before. When Simon is obliged to hire Jessica and work side by side with the one woman to ever make his bear go wild, he’s half in heaven, half in hell. He hasn’t forgotten her, and she sure as hell hasn’t forgiven him. Is this just another path to heartbreak or his last chance to claim his destined mate?
MaryLou Hoffman VINE VOICE 5.0 out of 5 stars LOVED IT! Reviewed in the United States on May 12, 2018 Verified Purchase DAMNATION is the first book in the Blue Moon series. While each is meant to stand alone, I believe it will be better to read them all and in the order of release. This is a spin-off of the Wolves of Twin Moon Ranch series. I have not read any of those books and had no trouble with following the characters (but I’m mighty curious now!). Grabbed me by the heart and held on straight until the end. I loved every minute of listening to this story of destiny and love that was meant to be claimed and celebrated. While in some stories it is annoying to hear inner dialogue, in this one it made the wolf and bear additional characters and they are terrific! They are so simple, single-minded, and in love with each other. Now if they could just get their humans to quit being so proud. This is the first book I have read from Anna Lowe. I want more!
Krystinna Collett 5.0 out of 5 stars Great shifter book! Reviewed in the United States on October 18, 2019Verified Purchase This is one of the best shifter books I have read. What happens when a wolf and a bear try to mate? All he** breaks loose. It starts when these two ask permission from their class to be married. The clans approve a marriage, but it is not to each other. What results is heartache; that breaks up the two, and brings death and destruction among the clans by a rouge clan. Running for their life's, the she-wolf and her sister find themselves in Arizona. They find a new friend and allies who offer them work and room and board. There is one catch.... They will be working for and sharing quarters with two shifter brothers. When the time comes for them to meet, it's her mate. Find out what happens by picking up this book, you won't regret it!
lala 5.0 out of 5 stars Damnation, glad I read this! Reviewed in the United States on August 24, 2017Verified Purchase This seems like a really good series. The author is not one I am familiar with but, one I am now interested in. The characters Simon, Soren, Jessica, Janna and Cole are all interesting. Simon a bear shifter and Jessica a wolf shifter met a long time ago and each recognized their destined mates in each other. However, their respective clans and packs forbade them from mating. However, they changed their minds and decided Soren and and Jessica should mate, each being the first born of their respective families. Simon tries to get the respective families to change their minds but they refuse. During all of this Jessica is unaware they intend to mate her to Soren, Simon's older brother. When Simon gives her the cold shoulder out of necessity she becomes angry . Soren also has a mate unknown to his clan. She is human, also not accepted by his clan. When rogue shifters destroy his clan and her pack in a sadistic plan to keep shifter blood pure they learn they failed to kill Jessica and Janna. Simon and Soren were away at the time and were also spared. They meet up again at the Blue Moon Saloon. Read the story to find out what happens next. It's a tale worth reading!
Lyn & Nino 5.0 out of 5 stars An amazing read!!! Reviewed in the United Kingdom on August 13, 2016Verified Purchase What an amazing story! I am a huge fan of shifter stories and of Anna Lowe's books. The way this book is written is so warm and real, I think that is one of the things that I loved so much about this book. The storyline was incredible, there are so many twists and turns in it, making it a compelling page tuner that is filled with action, adventure, pain and love. The characters were so well thought out and descriptive, each character having their own strengths and all of them having inner demons that they try to deal with on their own. Throughout the book they realise they can trust others. This is a definite must read!!!!!
