Healing of the Wolf (The Wild Hunt Legacy Book 5)

This is why I read romances – to escape into a world that is magical and where good triumphs over evil.” ~ BookAddict Reviews

A decade in captivity tore away all hope.

But Margery never lost her resolve to help the sick. The village she’d hoped to serve as banfasa, caring for the ill and injured, is long gone. Humans captured the young shifters and killed the adults. Finally rescued, she has a chance at her dreams—at least for meaningful work. With her leg crippled and her face scarred, she knows she has no hope of ever finding love.

Tynan is ready to find their mate.

After years away from his littermate as a police officer among humans, Tynan is finally home, a beta in the wolf pack, and serving his people as a law officer. Assigned as Margery’s mentor in the pack, he patiently works to earn the skittish little wolf’s trust. Her captivity has left her with problems, including a fear of uniforms. But he’s a fixer at heart—and he’s starting to want more from the gentle female than just friendship.

Donal has no intention of making a family.

Separated from his littermate for years, Donal has remained unmated, devoting his energies to healing. Believing ugly rumors about their new neighbor—a banfasa—he won’t have her in his clinic or his life—no matter what his newly returned brother wants.

But a feral shifter’s attack on Tynan shows Margery in a whole different light. She’s levelheaded, compassionate, sweet—and far too appealing. What male could resist her?

But even as the brothers work to win their mate, cruel forces move to crush their entire clan.

I was surprised to see this book but surprised in the best way. This series is an automatic buy.

While the author plays in the paranormal, the reader enjoys the familiar concepts of shifterdom with twists unique to Cherise Sinclair. I have read the entire series, and this was a quicker read than some of the other books.

I like that two of my series favorites found a forever woman. I liked the female character. I didn't come to love her. The warm fuzzies of the female bonding and cub love hit perfectly, but some of the long time characters felt flat in places.

I was thrilled to see the Murphy brothers show up and I was thrilled to see more world building. I was thrilled to see Darcy's brothers and the previous beloved characters (all in the proper moderation, meaning glimpses instead of embedded novellas to previous star characters). I was thrilled with most of the plot. It just missed something...

There is a lot of plot work in this book. I felt several characters and Consantir areas are revealed to the reader which will lead into future books. I feel that plot opportunities abound in the series and I look forward to the next installment.

Four stars from a tough critic. Cherise Sinclair is a remarkable talent. I read all her series but one. This will not be my favorite, but not every book can be the favorite...

A few minor editing issues but the issues rarely disturbed the natural flow while reading.

Cherise Sinclair is one of my favorite authors. I've never read a bad book of hers. The Wild Hunt Legacy series is such a fun shifter romance series that is outside of her more often written about contemporary BDSM subjects, but that doesn't make it any less phenomenal. I re-read this series often.

A shifter world based off a unique shifter history in which they descend from the Fae and follow the God of the Hunt, Hern and Goddess (spelling and names may be wrong on that). Shifters are one of three things: wolves, bears, or large cats and their society is run by God determined leaders. Many are also God-touched and serve purposes such as protectors, healers, and more. They have low birthrates so follow a monthly practice of requiring Gatherings, where females go into heat and all unmated shifters attend a massive party that, hopefully, leads to many gather-bred babies.

Margery has recovered from her time as a captive as much as can be expected, but when she learns that the leader of her current home is purposely not compensating her for her services as a Banfasa so she can't leave, she is ready to find a home that will allow her freedom and appreciate her. With the help of an unexpected, new friend Margery finds herself in Cold Creek with a new job and a new start on life.

Littermates Tynan and Donal are settling into their relationship again after many years of separation due to Tynan's God-given task to stay in Seattle until he's needed. Rescuing the captured shifters ended his assignment and now he's ready to create a life alongside his brother, possibly finding a mate for them, and settling into life poking at his cantankerous healer-brother Donal. When Margery moves in next door, he enjoys interacting with the little wolf and after being assigned her mentor by their pack Alpha, he drags Donal with him in their interactions. But Donal has another idea for where their lives will go. Can they all find a way towards happiness together? Finding out is fun, entertaining, and full of thrills!

I have been waiting for Donal's story since the very first time he was introduced! It was worth the wait!

The very best part of picking up a book by Cherise Sinclair is knowing that you are going to have fully developed characters that you feel you know personally. There wasn't a single part of this book I didn't love.

Healing of the Wolf was a well-written, sometimes sexy, sometimes suspenseful, and all the time enjoyable, story of three people finding their true place in the world. My heart ached for their internal struggles, especially Margery) and seeing them overcome so much to form their bond was beautiful. I pray this isn't the end of the series and Cherise Sinclair continues to add to this fantastic world that she has created for all of us to enjoy.

How Are You Doing?

During this pandemic, my local ABC station has been playing a commercial that features this statement. Asked by different news staff, the emphasis changes from person to person. The point being that we can all get through this pandemic, together.

If you read Sunday’s post, then you are aware that my oldest daughter has been diagnosed with Covid-19. We both have Amazon’s Echo Shows, so I was checking in with her to see how she was doing. In doing so, I was reminded of another couple who are friends of ours.

Dale and Ramona are originally from Michigan. In his youth, Dale was a runner. In his working years, he worked for the Post Office. He’s over 6 ft tall and an absolute beanpole in size. In these later years, he’s been afflicted with Parkinson Disease. Ramona is 5+ ft and might weigh 120!

Until the pandemic hit, Dale’s Parkinson’s was being handled nicely. He took exercise classes intended to keep him moving and attended support groups to stay connected with others. All that changed in March of last year. Sadly, the isolation of the pandemic has caused him to get worse, much worse.

In the last few months, Dale started to develop Parkinson Dementia. He’s spoken several times to neighbors about the “critters and homeless people” that they sent to his house. He’s called us wanting to talk to my husband about this. We’ve tried to gently redirect his attention, knowing that there is nothing there. In more recent months, he has started leaving the house and walking away. One such trip landed him on our doorstep. Another led him to the local police station in the middle of the night.

At this point in time, Dale is in a Memory Care Unit and Ramona is struggling with figuring out how to tell him that he’s not coming home. His Dementia has progressed to a point where she can’t control him and he’s become a danger to himself and possibly others. That’s a hard decision to make.

Take a good look around you, at work (if you are working!), at church if you attend, and in your neighborhood. Are there people around you that seem to be sturggling? Take a few minutes of your time to just check in on them, talk to them, pay them some attention. They may not be able to say it, but a kind word and a hug go a long way when you’re isolated and lonely!

It can happen anywhere!

Face it folks, when we are watching the evening news and they show neighborhoods where there has been some kind of crime, our first reaction is “that would never happen in my neighborhood.” It’s just human nature to assume that nothing bad ever happens around us. The truth is, it does.

I live in a very quiet neighborhood. The most exciting thing to happen here is when a nearby street was closed for repaving, and all the traffic was rerouted on to our street. This led to a lot more speeding than we normally see. Then this morning, something else occurred.

As I turned the corner from our trailer park on to the street, I was greeted with the sight of police tape across the street at the bike trail and the street was filled with police cars. Both from the city I live in, and the one that starts on the other side of the street. Now this was decidedly not a normal occurrence!

An admittedly nosy question to a police officer 👮‍♀️ yielded the story that it was still an active crime scene. For me, that was enough said. As I turned to go down the trail, a young woman who could barely keep herself together, walked up. She was a family member, and my heart hurt for her.

As I took Coco on her second walk. I noticed that the police presence had reduced. A question to the volunteer you see in this photo got me the information that the other officers had been sent home to get some sleep. In other words, this crime started sometime during the night. As I said before, this is a quiet area. Our peace had been shattered.

As the morning went on, other police officers arrived. Here’s the police photographer taking shots down the street.

The Mobile Command Center was a surprise. The local NBC affiliate was there talking with people. Surprisingly, a crew from Telemundo News was there. I didn’t know the family who was involved, but the Spanish crew was a wonderful addition.

The next time you are tempted to think that crime couldn’t touch your neighborhood, think again. Look at the peaceful street behind the police vehicle. It could happen anywhere.

Oh, my soul... Maddox is finally mated - but to who - I could NOT believe my eyes - Calysta - Mother of our own Kyra, Grand Priestess! I close my eyes and I can see him working on her nerves and she zaps him into a toad - buttttt darn did this old dragon change my mind.
I use to think of Maddox as "old" as he was the oldest at over 200 years - but darn if Julia didn't change my mind of this dragon being not "old" at all. He is actually HOT... And when it comes to his feisty mate - Maddox (Maddy to her) becomes putty in her hands. But to everyone else he is still grumpy - maybe not as grumpy, just a little bitty tamed.
And darn me is Calysta wasn't funny when she spoke to Kyra about Maddox and him being her mate and all. It was so hilarious how old-school her mom was to Kyra. But I loved it.
And then Maddox goes missing.... this was a little bit funny... but also not.

Each time Julia Mills write - she becomes better and better. Our world just explode with more information and intrigue. We are exposed to vile evil but also we are once again shown that love and goodness can triumph over evil. We get to know more of Kyran from the older Guard that went missing - but something is not okay.

And then Miss Julia says - we need to wait a bit to read his, Kyran's, story next - hope it's soon. Come one everyone - join us and learn how our grumpy Mad Dragon becomes tamed by the one Fate made for him. Its fun - trust me!!!

This is Bk #15 of the Dragon Guard Series and I just love the whole series-they get better and better each time!!

This is Mad Maddox, the 225 year old Dragon shifter who never thought he'd find a mate. He finds her and it's the Grand Priestess Calysta and he's not happy about it at first. He finally realizes Fate has a wicked sense of humor. Since it took him so long to accept it, he's got some groveling to do with Calysta but she loves him and doesn't give him too hard of a time. She has a nickname for him already-Doxie. You can imagine what the other Dragon shifters think of that name! They are made for each other and complement each other so well. Our Mad Maddox has become somewhat tamed!

Then there's the other part of the story of Maddox looking for his friend Kyran, the Black Dragon, of finding him, battling the O'Baoill twins and rescuing Kyran who is put into a deep sleep to heal and hope his mind isn't totally gone from his long incarceration by the O'Baoill's. Unfortunately, Eve O'Baoill had escaped so I'm sure we haven't seen the last of her.

I highly recommend this book and the whole series. If you love Dragons, you'll love the whole Dragon Guard series and I can't wait for the next story!!

I absolutely love this series as far as I am concerned each one is better than the last. In this one our grumpy old mad dragon Maddox finds his love in the Grand Priestess Calysta. As an older person I was happy to read of an older couple getting together. Now I know the dragons are a century old but I meant Calysta being older.

Maddox called Doxie by his team and Maddy by his mate has a never seen softer side which Calysta brings out. He found his team mate Kyran but something is wrong with him. So this story tells of Kyran and what happened to him as well as the continued back story with the hunters.

If you love hunky dragons and discovering soft sides to grumpy mad ragons then this is the story for you. Fate cannot be denied and this story cannot fail to be enjoyed by all.

I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I also love this series so much that I pre ordered this one too.

I love this series. I can't believe there are 15! Each and every one is unique. You fall in love with these beloved characters. Maddox is very old school and he's over 200 years old. Calysta is the Grand Priestess and what a pair! They totally belong together and they made me laugh and smile. Now this book comes more trouble. Tariq had children! Sick people! Adam and Eve...yeah so not good! Kyran was found but he's been messed with along with others by these siblings. Far worse than you can imagine. I really enjoyed the book and look forward as always til the next because Eve is still on the loose! I love their nicknames for each other so cute! Maddy and Callie. All swoony.

I liked Miranda at first but by chapter 11, not so much. It was all “I want, I want, I want”. I get that you have needs and you should find yourself as you grow. But there are plenty of men who would have shown her that, even if they can be less than stellar at it all the time. Why she married a man that would make her feel like she had cooties after sex I don’t understand.

Now, I liked Brax. She was with him sporadically for six months. I don’t honestly think she gave him enough time to find his feet in their FWB before she took off to the IBP. The only way her choices made sense was because of his words and the amount of time he was gone for. It kind of read like she only spent about a day or two with him per month. That’s like a total of 12 days altogether. She never clarified her desire for a more serious relationship and I put that error squarely on her shoulders. Brax was just realizing how much she meant to him and then bam(!) she was gone. The serious nature of his job was a super distraction and can be excuse or reason enough for him needing time to get “there” with her.

Then the last thing I didn’t care for was the confrontation between the three of them. I was all into this story up until this point and had been eager for this showdown to finally get the three of them together. But Miranda thought very poorly of Brax in her head. And even called him a fool while he was groveling to her, again this was in her head. I felt she was demeaning towards him and that is not love. When you love someone you don’t see them as less than. Even if you fall for someone else at the same time. The heart is an amazing thing. It can expand to include many and can be super forgiving and I felt she lacked in that understanding.

I liked Tryst. He was a prillon who demanded excellence from a second. As for him giving up hope on a bride and never replacing his former second, I found inappropriately reflected his character, not just as a prillon but as a second in command of a battleship. In previous books, it has been shown that brides arrive at any stage in a males life, young or old once they have earned the right to be tested. So that was just poor planning or a remission of his duty as a prillon potential mate. But then, had there been a second there wouldn’t have been a point to this book.

Brax I liked, and yes he was a clueless guy that F#€ked up and lost his FWB/girl. But a lot could have been avoided had some conversations had happened and a little less sex. As I stated above a conversation about Miranda wanting a serious relationship, a conversation about Brax’s military record, and a conversation about whether any of them wanted babies.

This book was written well, even if I didn’t like how it played out and didn’t like the female lead. My favorite books are the two books with secret babies, one of which introduced the Miranda character. And of course nearly all of the colony books. But I didn’t like this story and I won’t read it again. Hope you can enjoy it more than I did.

This is an established series, the 16th, that includes alpha quality alien warriors who are DNA (and whatever else) matched with an Earth female with pretty much 100% compatibility potential.

In this story Miranda, a divorcee, is living off planet Earth with her best friend Natalie though she wants her own family but has to have a mate to start that process. So far all she's only enjoyed a 'friends with benefits' relationship with a male who knows what she needs and is able to provide it, but, can't or won't progress into more.

Turns out the male, Doctor Brax, is a secret agent for the I.C.. Being a doctor/physician, he's able to infiltrate and complete his missions with high success rates. In his mind he can't commit to Miranda as his job is dangerous and there's always the chance he won't return.

Fast forward into Miranda getting fed up and signing up with the Interstellar Bride program. Of course she's matched on the spot and transported to her potential/probable mate. A Prillon. To remind you, Prillion's mate as a pair with one female, and, surprise, surprise, he doesn't have a second.

I just can't see a purpose for this book in the series. Yes, it features a sexy time story of repeated BDSM adult intimacy scenes, and gives a reason to feature a second chance romance sort of thing, but otherwise has no value.

A sexy times story for fans of the series and author.

I love all of GG’s books. Each book is different and unique but all revolves around the Interstellar Brides program. This book was well written and the characters were fun to read from their POV. I didn’t find any of them to be annoying or frustrating. I loved how Brax traveled across the galaxy to take his mate back even though he knew it would not go well in his favor. 😍

While there is some BDSM elements in this book, it felt pretty tame and mild compared to others in my opinion. The title of “Master”, clamps, and waiting for commands during sex seemed to be the extent of the BDSM in this book. So if you want to branch out into the wonderful world of BDSM, this would be a good starting point to ease you into that sub genre. Great book with a HEA!

So I'll just say I was unsure about this story which is why I kept putting off reading it. I've loved this series and when one as that the problems for this couple were going to be more dramatic and intense I was unsure how it would go. Because sometimes when problems escalate like they did in this book the core of the story - the love, romance & living - can get lost in the scramble and the story really just becomes about the new and dangerous problem. But thankfully this author was able to avoid that problem and she did it well. She gave us all the suspense, and drama and intense build up of this new and dangerous problem everyone's facing while still making the stories main couple and their development a priority. So the love and romance where intertwined with this problem instead of one being overshadowed by the other. Darcy was strong but she also had plenty of internal issues to deal with but she never backed away from them or ignored them or any problem which I really liked. I loved gawain and would love to see more blademages in the future because he was just yummy. And Owen grumpy and controlling but under all that you could see his caring for everyone else. It's hard to pick a favorite couple in this series because they are all so good, but this one might take the cake for now. This was a story where each part of this couple finally achieved their dreams, and the HEA was good. I'm the future I'd love to see Part in and Fell get a book, and maybe have a book where one of these new-ish females gets knocked up at a gathering in the middle of her story would be fun. So love, action suspense, plenty of hot moments and wan overall well balanced story so there's not much more you could ask for. Good story and I can't wait to see what's next, would recommend.

If you are into paranormal series, you are missing out if you haven’t treated yourself to Cherise Sinclair’s The Wild Hunt Legacy series. Centered around a small town filled with shifters, these books are full of action, emotions, some tough situations, and loads of chemistry. Each can be easily read as a standalone but I’d start from the beginning with Hour of the Lion just because you don’t want to miss any of the strong heroines and their hot, growly heroes. Cherise Sinclair has a knack for writing books that are not only seriously sexy but jam-packed with characters that have to navigate emotionally and physically difficult situations. Needless to say, I’ve been impatiently waiting for Leap of the Lion, had hugely high hopes for it and wasn’t disappointed in the least.

All three main characters have serious issues they are dealing with. Owen and Gawain are brothers raised in an abusive home with Owen taking the brunt of the abuse from their crazy mother. If that wasn’t heartbreaking enough, we are brought along for the ride as Darcy escapes from an evil group called the Scythe, who had imprisoned an entire town’s worth of shifters for years. The females are being held as hostages in order to force the males to carry out missions for the group. The females are dying off at an alarming rate and if Darcy can’t get help soon, all will be lost, especially for her brothers.

I loved Darcy. She was strong and unbelievably brave, willing to do anything to save her people even if it meant putting herself back into the very danger she escaped from. She was hardworking and loyal, and extremely smart, learning how to not only be a Daonain but also all the rules that went along with it. It’s good she was assigned two sexy, growly, and knowledgeable mentors to help her along.

As much as I loved Darcy (and Gawain too) it was Owen who completely stole my heart. He was growly, grumpy and, because of his issues with his mother, a borderline misogynist. A Cahir, or god chosen warrior for his people, he was perfectly suited for keeping his people safe from harm but his attitude needed some serious work.

Gawain was a blade mage, which made him physically tough, but it was his laid-back attitude that made him an imminently more suitable choice of mentor for Darcy, although the task of was given to them both. I think Gawain was the voice of reason, a calming influence for both Owen and Darcy.

The more Owen and Gawain got to know their new charge, the more they wanted her no matter how hard Owen fought it. As for Darcy, she developed feelings for her mentors, but she knew as soon as she had control of her newfound cougar, she needed to go help her people.

These three had lots of lessons to learn, from trust, to control, to how to forgive oneself. Leap of the Lion was an action-packed emotional journey, and although a slow burn at first, it was hot as Hades too. I can’t wait to see what happens next for the characters in The Wild Hunt Legacy.

It’s the middle of the night and I had to keep reading until I was finished. Sinclair is ruining my sleep!
As this is the last book in this series I’m sad to be finished, I’ve loved following the shifters in the little town. The tolerance, love and acceptance they show for each other is heartwarming.
There’s so many characters I would love to learn more about so I hope there will be more books.

I’ve said it before and I say it again; Sinclair has a unique way of creating a world of her own in her series, and it pulls you in so you’re a part of it.
With characters that are developed in to realistic personalities I feel like I know them.

No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings
Lots of good dialogues
Suspense that holds my interest all the way through
Sweet and steamy love scenes.

Darcy is a panther shifter but has been held captive for ten years. Her and her female villagers were held while the brothers were made soldiers and if they didn’t do as they were told, the sister was killed. They were not allowed to touch, talk, or shift. When she overheard a conversation, she escapes and gets lost in a park.
Owen is a Cahir, a warrior ,and doesn’t trust females because of his mother. Gawain is a blademage, makes magical blades for the shifters, and is Owen’s brother. Owen helps rescue Darcy and brings her back to their town. The cosantir assigns them to be mentors to Darcy. Teach her the shifter ways and how to shift, hunt, and the laws of their people.
She wants to rescue her village people but they have to find the prison first. They want to plan an attack against the prison and the soldier camp at the same time. But when the cosantir’s mate is taken, their attack must happen now and Darcy must lead the way.
I’ll be honest, it was a little confusing at first to me but the more I read, the more I loved it. Action packed, fast paced story. There are multiple men having sex with one women and then it becomes a ménage. The sex is very hot. Darcy is lovable and strong. Owen is quiet and grumpy. Garwain is big and sweet.

It’s a little different but its not drastic so don’t freak out! I can’t wait to read more of her stories because this was awesome. I laughed and cried as usual. I loved Olive she’s so sweet but dammit she’s taking control and not taking no for an answer to talk to her mate. He accidentally hurts her when he was having a dream and after that he freaks and stays away. Well…she’s done with his pouting! Her dragon can’t help but love her for that. Kellen’s been through some horrible things! The antagonist in this book was horrendous and so needed to be stopped! I’m not giving anything away..well not much! There are lots of things interesting in this book…little teasers that I am sure we’ll read in future books. So...I RECOMMEND! LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

This book is about the scarred Guardsmen, Kellan. The backstory behind his scars was revealed, and it turns out Kellan was scarred both externally and internally. Kellan received his scars from an attack on a poor village, while he was trying to save the lives of three little girls. And thanks in part to the malice of one truly evil villain. Kellan was deeply impacted by those he couldn't save and blamed himself. Once his brethren tracked the man responsible they have been on the case ever since. His mate and Dove shifter, Olive has something to say about Kellan's scars and wants to help her mate finally heal from those old wounds. But to do so, the gang have to settle the score with the man responsible for Kellan's scars. There is another merging mating forming in this book, I think it got started in the previous book, but its mentioned a bit in this one. Olive has to break Kellan's defenses to get him to allow her in and allow her close. They have a mild courtship when compared to the other couples, except that one incident. Bring on the next one.

Eventide of the Bear (The Wild Hunt Legacy Book 3)

She risked her life to save a human child. Pain was her reward.

All her life, Emma longed for someone to love. Instead, disaster sees the brand-new bard banished from her people for long lonely years. Injured saving a child, the werebear has to steal food from humans, breaking shifter Law. The territory’s Cosantir and his lethal grizzly warrior catch her in the act. To her surprise, she’s healed and welcomed. Obviously, they don’t know her past. But oh, she can’t resist being around other shifters—especially the captivatingly powerful warrior. Maybe she can stay…just a little while.

As a grizzly warrior, Ben is ordered to house the pretty werebear until she heals. His littermate abandoned him, his home is empty, and he’s been alone for a long time. Intelligent and sweet and lushly curved, Emma is a delight…even if she is oddly reticent about her past. Although having sworn off females, he’s sorely tempted by this one. Damned if he doesn’t want to keep her, secrets or not.

Females were trouble. Years past, one split Ryder from his littermate. Now the panther shifter is returning to Ben, bringing his cub with him, a four-year-old he stole from the abusive female. To Ryder’s annoyance, his brother is sheltering a wounded bear. A female. Even worse, she’s beautiful and gentle and loving—damned if he’s going to fall for that act again. But when the dark of the moon arrives and death reigns supreme, he’ll discover that not all females are alike.

In a world filled with hellhounds and pixies, can three lonely shifters and one silent cub create a new family together?

Emma is banished from her territory unjustly and is forced to live as an outcast. She stays mostly in her bear form, scrounging for food and hibernating. When a family is attacked by a hellhound, Emma risks her life to save the child. Badly injured, she is forced to raid human campsites for food. When the guardian of the territory and his enforcer set a trap for her, she is caught in the act of breaking the law. Expecting to be punished, instead she is taken to the healer, and placed with the enforcer, a grizzly shifter named Ben, for protection.

Ben is lonely, too. His littermate and he split several years ago, and he has lived alone ever since. He is drawn to Emma, and shelters her gladly.

Ryder, Ben's littermate, learns the woman he and Ben split over, has a cub—his daughter. Angered by his mate's selfishness, he left her and vowed no woman would ever have power over him again. He hadn't known about the cub. and when he goes to check it out, he finds an abused child, mute from the trauma. He takes his child and reunites with his brother. Together the four of them try to make a home.

And then the mother comes to reclaim her child.

As I’m reading this series I can’t help wondering why this author is capable of holding my interest........
My conclusion is that her books is not just another story, it’s packed with suspense, feelings, action, sweet love scenes, realistic characters (for a shifter) and amazing world building.

There’s no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings
Plenty of dialogues
The characters and the chemistry between them is coming through in a subtle way.
A storyline that progresses steadily and with all the ups and downs it keeps me on the edge all the time.

I have many authors I one-click books from but only a few I reread and Cherise Sinclair is absolutely one of them.

Excellent series and all the books can be read as a standalone but I recommend starting from the beginning.

This book, heck this series is just good. This author not only does a great job writing stories in general but taking tales of paranormal and Otherfolk and making them with a flair that's distinctly hers. And while this is a hot and still sweet romance with menage it is one centered around the female. But it's done in a way that there are no closed doors or favoritism, and keeps the feeling of one larger relationship with multiple people rather then multiple different relationships that happen to share 1 person. I personally prefer the relationships where everyone is at least open, and sharing like here, verses one with closed doors and lots of rules. And while there's action, drama and suspense this story ended on the most adorable heartwarming HEA, would definitely recommend.

Emma is a bear shifter. When she went to her first Gathering, two males fought over her and killed each other. She is blamed and banished. After three years of living alone in the forest, her leg is mauled by a hellhound in her attempt to save some human kids. She is rescued and lives with Ben also a bear shifter. He takes care of her as she heals. His brother shows up with his little girl. Ben hasn't seen Ryder, a panther shifter, in years. The cub was abused by her mother and doesn't speak. He is distrustful of females. But little by little he starts to fall for Emma. Ben has already fallen for her but doesn't want to lifemate because he's afraid she wouldn't be able to birth his cubs. When her leader shows up from her old town, she takes off afraid she will be banished again. But misunderstandings are cleared up and they think it's smooth sailing until Ryder's ex shows up wanting the cub. So now they must prove what a horrible mother she is to protect their little family.
Two bears and a panther fight hellhounds, ex's, and their feelings for each other. Couple of hot sex scenes. I have been waiting for the next book in this series. Was not disappointed!

OMG I absolutely loved this story. Rory is such a bad ass so full of life and laughter to find him in a coma waiting to die from hellhound poisoning was traumatizing. Claire the phoenix matriarch is his mate and on her way to heal him but as luck would have it she never arrives to the lair as planned because an evil griffin who plans to be her mate as well kidnaps her. And that my friends is all I will reveal of the story. Just know that there is plenty of emotional ups and downs as well as action to be found within, of course there is also romance in these pages.

Do yourself a favor and grab a copy. Ms. Mills gets better with every story she writes and I am so glad that I was given an ARC for an honest review and hope to buy a copy as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars 13th Book is the Luckiest Number for a Dragon !!

Rory is the youngest dragon brother and something of a jokester . While he is an excellent fighter and Dragon Guard, he still tends not to take things to seriously, until he is bitten by a hellhound on his last mission, and unless some kind of miracle happens, he's going to be a dead dragon. Enter his miracle in the form of Claire a Phoenix (Sun Bird, Thunderbird) whose tears can heal anything including hellhound bites. Just one problem, a Griffin has decided Claire is his mate and he intervenes by sending his brother and a bunch of other griffins to bring her "home" , just as she's riding to heal Rory. Of course with Rory in a coma, the other Dragons set up a rescue plan to go and get Claire back, but Rory takes a turn for the worse, and a close family friend lends him some strength and we'll, your going to need to read the book to learn the rest !! I don't do spoilers !! Just know that this is one of the best of the 13 books in the series. There is action, angst, love, fear, and several new key characters are introduced. All while keeping beloved characters from the previous books front and center. While this is a stand alone book and you could read it without knowing anything from the previous books, you will enjoy it to its fullest by reading the other books in the series. Kudos Julia Mills 5 ''s . Can't wait for book 14, and anyone who says 13 is an unlucky number, should read this 13th book of this series !!

'Went to Hell … check. Saved my brother's mate … check. Saved a Guardsman we all thought was dead … unplanned, but hell yeah on the check. So now what? Oh yeah, lay here and be bored to death. HA! I mean, that's unless the hellhound poison coursing through my veins doesn't kill me first. Good times. Good times.' If you've been following the series, then you know Rory is the youngest of the O'Rourke boys; a great guardsman and fighter but also the practical joker who rarely takes things seriously. Until he winds up in a coma from the poison of a hellhound.
Claire is the phoenix matriarch. She's also Rory's fated mate. There's just one problem. She's trying to get to her mate and a Griffin has decided he wants Claire and her powerful abilities. Julia Mills has once again shown how fate plays a HUGE role in the lives of these Guardians and their lives. Rory and Claire's tale is one that will capture you heart and keep you in the circle with the rest of their friends and family. I just love this series.

Bk #13 continues from Bk #12 with Rory O'Reilly being bitten by a hellhound and it's poison is going through his system and he's paralyzed. There is only one person who can save him and that's Clair Featherstone, the Matriarch of the Clan of the Sun. This is the year that she will have to choose a mate-between good and evil. She has seen the evil Malik and will not be choosing him. She also has seen Rory and knows he is her mate, is a dragon and has chosen him. Rory also has had dreams of this gorgeous woman and knows she is his mate - if he lives to see her. Claire is on her way to save Rory and claim him has her mate. If it only was as simple as it sounds, but then it never is.

I just loved this story about Rory & Claire-the story pulls you in from the start until the finish! It has sexy romance, plenty of action and suspense. Besides who doesn't love Dragons and there are plenty of them!! Also enjoyed meeting some new friends. I so highly recommend this book and the whole series.

After seeing Commander Karter in several books and watching him interact with Dara (Chloe, Seth, and Dorian's daughter), we have begged Grace for him to get a mate and she answered us with this great story.

(To understand my review, I just want to put it out there, I read for story and could care less about the sexy times)

This story drops us right into the middle of the Hive war, as mentioned in the previous books, the Battlegroup Karter is actively holding back the Hive in sector 437. Karter was tested years and years ago and has been too busy to have any thoughts of a bride. Ronan is also a Commander and is just as intense as Karter due to the heavy weight of responsibility demanded by their positions. Erica has always loved the stars and jumped at her chance to be among them, especially after her testing as part of a Prillon sandwich (her words, not mine).

This story is told from all three POV and we get to see just how tortured Karter is and how much weight is on his very broad shoulders. I really loved Karter and Ronan and even though Erica is just a feisty as the other Interstellar Brides, I guess I just wasn't as impressed with her as I was with the other brides - she does love both of them and fights for a true mating but that's about it. BUT, Karter and Ronan make up for any deficiencies I felt Erica had. The new development in the war is a major game changer and the Coalition is going to have their hands full dealing with it.

I love this series and while I have received advanced copies of these books (yes, I joined Grace's review team to get my hands on these books as soon as possible), I have purchased every single one. Purchasing these books and writing reviews so that others have a chance to discover this talented author's work is my way of supporting her and my habit 🙂

Kinzi had been waiting to see her identical twin sister Kayla and husband Evan for some time and now they were all together again the limo that had been sent to collect them and drive the around. Who would have thought that the laughter and the love she had seen and heard in her sister and the love of her life Evan’s eyes would be permanently changed and there was not a damn thing she could do to stop it from happening?
When Damian had heard of the attack by the hunters and the death of his two packmates his vintner assistant and Kenzi and his Beta Evan. Imagine his surprise when he discovers that the woman, he found was Kinzi and that she is his Fated mate, unfortunately being close to death and already undergoing the change to wolf he has a lot of explaining to do if she survives the transgression fully.
Damián has never been happier he has discovered his fated mate and now he has to explain to Kinzi what is happening to her body and also explain why her sister and her mate were killed as they were all travelling in Italy, unfortunately she has other ideas.
When Damian discovers that his recently marked mate has made a run for it he is furious and also frustrated, when he discovers she is on the way to Italy he knows she is looking for the hunters and for retribution he knows her life is at risk.
This is a wonderful read and it is simply wonderful to meet up again with Marco and Catherine in Italy along with Damian’s brother and his recently turned mate.
This is a wonderful read and I guarantee that once you start reading you will not be able to put this book down until you reach the very last page.
I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
