Revenge is a dish best served cold. Be careful what you wish for. Kamdyn and Callum should have remembered these old sayings!

I love how this couple came together. Watching them was so satisfying. The couple are well written, you can almost see parts of yourself in them. The story continued easily from the first book. Now, I can will be on pins and needles until the final one comes out!

Fire Maidens: Scotland by Anna Lowe

Wonderful Second Chance romance with a sexy dragon Shifter. The descriptions of the places are everything we’ve come to expect from Ms. Lowe.

Breathe by Delta James

Don’t be surprised if you find yourself needing to refresh your memory with this one. So many of our favorite couples make an appearance in this one. It really makes it enjoyable to see the continuity from one story to the next.

It’s Been One of “Those” Weeks!

I spent most of last week without my car. When you get to be my age, that can be an absolute pain in the rear. Let me give you a little background though.

This past January I received a coupon for an oil change from AAA. One of their Car Care Plus centers is near my house. Our car needed an oil change so we took it there. While they were changing the oil, they also checked such things as the fluids, the brakes, and so forth.

The front brakes were fine, but the back brakes would need to be changed before long. It took a month or two, but in April we had the work done. Unfortunately this time as they were doing the complimentary checks, they noticed an oil leak. My husband insisted that it wasn’t anything that needed work on immediately and we took the car home.

Maybe we should have had the work done then, I don’t know. A week ago while driving home from the store, we heard a noise but couldn’t see where it came from. The next day I had a warning light come on to “Service Battery Charging System.” That was my second clue. Two days later the car was dead on it’s axles at the house.

Ted, our carpenter friend, came up to help with it. We checked the battery, we charged the battery, nothing. Using a battery charger/starter, we got it started. The light was still on! Then Ted noticed that the Serpentine belt was missing. That being broken was the noise we heard!

So I called AAA Roadside Assistance and had the car towed up to the Car Care center. Late that day, I got a call back with the bad news. The belt had broken because that little oil leak my husband dismissed had been leaking onto the belt. Once the belt became saturated, it broke. They would need to clean the engine in order to find the source of the leak. We needed the car fixed so we reluctantly agreed to this.

Mid afternoon the next day we got the news. They’d found the source of the leak, but they were going to have to remove several things in order to reach that gasket. It would take replacing the timing cover and seal, the front oil seal, the oil pan gasket and a complete oil change to fix it. Ouch!

It was Friday afternoon before I was able to pick my car back up. That little oil leak in April lead to a $1600 dollar repair in June. The biggest single item on the bill was the labor. The good news is that since the Car Care Plus center is own and operated by AAA, the repairs are guaranteed.

Geek Bearing Gifts: Paranormal Dating Agency #2

“I want a man to want me for me.” Hearing the words come out of her mouth made her wince. A troubled knot tightened around her heart, clasping her normal self-assurance in a vice grip. “I wasn’t wanted by boys growing up. Most girls didn’t want to be around the fat girl. When someone did take the time to talk to me, they wanted something, and that something was usually to make fun of me.”

Taiden, Milly. Geek Bearing Gifts (Paranormal Dating Agency, Book 2) . Latin Goddess Press. Kindle Edition.

Nita Islas wants to find love. She’s tired of the superficial relationships and is ready to give true romance a try. She uses the Paranormal Dating Agency and hopes they can help her where all others have failed. What she didn’t expect was to find her date flat on his back in nothing more than a towel.

Ky Stone has been in love with curvy and funny Nita since they were in High School. When she moved away, she took his heart with her. Then one day Ky wakes up to find her leaning over him. He’s sure he’s died and gone to heaven. He has no idea what she’s doing there, but he’s sure as hell not letting her leave.

Fate, meddling family and the PDA have brought them together again. The chemistry between them is explosive. But there’s problems with Ky’s neighboring clan and he’s keeping secrets from Nita. He needs to find a way to open up to her or lies and unexpected danger could tear them apart…forever.

Mrs Wilder is fantastic as a matchmaker. The world building is something you have to read to believe. There’s humor and romance a plenty in this delightful story. What appeals to me is the leads to the next story. Which, by the way, I can’t wait to read!🤗

It should be easy when the Alpha of Otter Crest decides to claim his fated mate.
The only problem is… she’s hunting him.

Ethan Storm had survived more dangerous missions than most men. It was only after he was mugged and his life hung in the balance that he was turned by one of his men.

Returning home, Ethan had hoped to be able to resume his relationship with the love of his life, Marissa Prentiss.

The only problem is that with the exception of her sister, Marissa’s family has become entrenched with those that hunt the wolf-shifters. When her sister is murdered, Marissa joins the Hunters and vows to end those of Ethan’s kind.

When new information regarding her sister’s death comes to light, can Marissa bring the real villains to justice and find her own happily ever after with the only man she ever loved?

Marissa intends to destroy the lives of the men who had raped and murdered her sister, including their father. Erin, her sister, was a wolf shifter and she was killed by a group of Hunters, who want to destroy all shifters. Of course, the men of the wolf packs decide that she needs to be rescued. Marissa doesn't need to be rescued, she wants to be left alone to finish her retribution. But, Ethan Storm is a past love and when he was made a wolf shifter to save his life, he realized then that Marissa was his fated mate. Six years later, he finally decides that he needs to claim her. The result is a very entertaining story.

Delta James is one of my favorite authors. I really enjoy the stories she writes about shifters. I can't wait for the next two books in this series.

I received an advance copy of this book and this is my honest opinion

A tangled vine of drama, mystery and romance when Marissa's understanding of her father's betrayal leads to revenge and feelings of guilt. But when she realizes that the lies she believed have put her into the crosshairs of the hunters, her only hope is to take them out first. But will her actions also put her into the sights of her fated mate? Will Ethan's determination to track her down first become the delay that leads to doom? Or will their connection become even stronger than before?

Fire Maidens #6: Scotland

Passion, hope, and forbidden desire…

Anna Lowe did an excellent job in describing the beauty of Scotland during the characters’ journey, and the reader is able to picture every detail and scene. The couple steams up the pages. A very unique series with shifters and a storyline that every reader will enjoy for the constant action, fight scenes, and the hidden secrets that are revealed. – Ind’tale Magazine

Holly Jennings wasn’t planning on another trip to Scotland. And she certainly wasn’t planning on a trip down memory lane with the hot Highlander who broke her heart. But she’s never been much of a planner — more like a roll-with-the punches country gal. A good thing too, because “one last request” may not be the only thing a beloved mentor left her in his will. Before Holly knows it, she’s heading on a mysterious mission to a remote island — and straight into danger.

Dragon shifter Lachlan McKenney likes his life logical and organized — not turned upside down by the lithe, impulsive beauty he’s been trying to forget for years. Especially now that he’s busy guarding a ruthless archenemy who’s plotting to escape an island prison.

But Holly awakens every emotion Lachlan has been trained to resist: passion, hope, and forbidden desire. Apparently, there’s no outrunning fate, just as there’s no shirking duty. Against the odds, Lachlan must keep Holly safe on her mission to carry out a venerable old dragon’s last wishes. At the same time, he must resist temptation, because letting his focus slip could cost Holly her life — and unleash a deadly foe.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. I LOVED Lachlan and Holly! Holly was nothing like what I was expecting her to be. She was refreshing and quite bohemian for a dragon. Lachlan was so uptight that he couldn’t see the forest for the trees! The death of someone near and dear to both of them is just what they needed to get them both on track. I wish that Trevor would have been in more books imparting his wisdom in some of the other Fire Maiden stories. Through his letters and requests, though, you felt as if you knew Trevor also. When I figured out who Trevor was, it made me love him that much more! There’s even a minor secondary character who isn’t as bad or irritating as I expected them to be. The appearance of other comrades of Lachlan and their Fire Maidens to embrace Holly made me very happy! I can’t wait for the next Fire Maiden story!

I love this story. Holly Jenning is the lead female character and lives in the USA when her mentor passes away on one of his visits to her home he leave her with bring his ashes back to Scotland and one last request. What's a girl to do? You can't pull that card and not do it . But she never thought she would have to make this mission with the one man that broke her heart, or that it would lead her to a remote island and danger. Is it to late to change travel plans? Lol Dragon shifter Lachlan McKenney meet his mate many years ago right as he was going into the French foreign legion . He had been raised duty came first. Not to trust in love. Beside she was better off without him. He left. There was no one else for him. At the reading of mentor's will he sees her again. Will duty win out again or Destiny? Lol got to read to find out! I love the woman who reads this, great voice. Pulls you in to the story and really keeps you involved in every page. Got the ebook too.

“Love is life. Love is the most powerful, enduring force. The most beautiful, whether that’s love for your mate, a child, or a comrade...Even in sorrow, love lives on. It supersedes time, borders, and even death. Love is the one thing you can never waste nor regret.”

Holly Jennings wasn’t planning a trip to Scotland. But when your mentor asks for ‘one last request’ in his will you do what is necessary, even if it means dealing with the hot dragon shifter that broke your heart.

This was a very good second chance, fated mates romance. Lachlan left Holly years ago because of his sense of duty to his family. Now he realizes how much he lost when he pushed her away. I really enjoyed watching grumpy and controlling Lachlan learning how to loosen up. Holly teaches him how to enjoy the world around him and that there is more to life than just duty.

Holly was a caring woman who lives her life spontaneously. She helps disabled and high risk children find their way in life. Now she is trying to fulfill the last wishes of her mentor, Trevor, which involve traveling around Scotland and visiting certain landmarks. I really liked Holly. She was just a great character with a pure soul but who could fight if she needed to.

I really enjoyed Holly and Lachlans relationship. They have a second chance and they aren’t wasting it. Overall, this was a great addition to the series and the continuation of the overarching story. I really am enjoying this fantastic world and can’t wait for the next book, which is Tony’s book. I am excited for another lion shifter story!

MEMBER OF THE PARANORMAL ROMANCE GUILD REVIEW TEAM

Another country, another fire maiden and another story filled with shifters, amazing characters and romance. This is Holly Jennings and Lachlan McKenney’s story both dragon shifters and like all the previous ones it is a story I couldn’t wait to read.

Lachlan is attending the reading of one of the Guardians will and awaiting the arrival of his ashes. The long wait for the ashes finally ends with the arrival of Holly Jennings who has brought the ashes back from the United States where he died. Holly and Lachlan have not seen each other for ten years because he left right after they had a night of amazing sex and both knew without a doubt that they were mates.

Lachlan had drummed into him all his life that love was useless and that he had a duty to his country and no place for a mate. As hard as it was to leave Holly he did his duty and joined the French Foreign Legion and when his military career was over he returned home to Scotland to join the Guardians of Scotland. Seeing Holly walk through the door took his breath away and it took all he had to keep from sweeping her off her feet. Holly felt the same but she was there for a reason and that reason was to bring her mentor Trevor’s ashes home.

She would have to go to Gleninnis presently an island forbidden for anyone to go to but she is determined and Lachlan is tasked with her safety. While both of their dragons try to get their human half to wise up and accept their mate the human halves are not quite as smart. Trevor’s instructions for placing his ashes is not simple, in fact it comes with letters to be opened at each designated spot. Holly is unaware of the fact that the island is now the prison of the mastermind of one of the most ruthless dragon clans and a threat to humans and shifters alike.

Along for the ride is Mungo, Trevor’s deerhound and Tony, a lion shifter who Lachlan has asked to help protect Holly. Holly and Lachlan love each other but their stubborness and his determination that love would keep him from his duty just get in the way and not that their other halves are not trying to make them see the light.

The journey to place Trevor’s ashes and his personal letters at each stop to Holly finally makes Lachlan look at his life but is it too little too late. Their last stop is Gleninnis and the last letter changes Holly’s life in so many ways. The prisoner knows immediately what she is when he sees her while everyone else is clueless so this last stop does not go without danger.

A must read series, well as far as I am concerned. Mystery, shifters, romance, sex, betrayal, suspense and everything I could ever want from a paranormal romance. Every book in this series can be read as a standalone but why miss out on amazing stories.

Starfighter Command: Game 2 (Starfighter Training Academy)

I’m obsessed with the game.

I spend so many hours playing that I dream about dangerous missions on other worlds…and my gorgeous, in-game training partner, Kassius. That is, until I win. I beat the Starfighter Training Academy.

But is it a game? Or alien software designed to recruit new, unsuspecting soldiers for a war in another star system? Because when my hot as heck alien shows up at my workplace demanding I leave Earth and travel to the Vega system? What? When he informs me it’s my duty to fight Queen Raya and the Dark Fleet? Claims he wants me as much as I’ve craved him? Let’s just say things get crazy.

Facing the truth is never easy, but when I arrive at the Elite Starfighter base I learn that Kassius cheated the system, hacked into the game, and lied to everyone on two worlds to make me his.

Now who’s obsessed?

I thought that this book rocked! I love them premise behind this series and while I enjoyed book one, I did have some pet peeves with it. I'm very happy to report that this was not a problem with this book. The storyline here grabbed and kept my attention and the characters likable. Mia and Kassius shared a powerful attraction and had intense chemistry. Let me just say that the sparks the be a-flying around these two! The book itself offers a gripping blend of romance, emotion, excitement, drama and action that will have you eager to steal every spare moment you can to read "just a bit more". This series does have an overarching storyline, so I recommend reading these books in order. This is my frank, freely posted review.

I like the direction this story took. Kass is kind of a bad boy and I love it. He lives just on the edge like Mia but his cockyness gives him away. And Mia is the perfect character to fight for a just cause. Together they are scorching hot. I also like all the detective work happening. The author managed to make it exciting mixing it with all the action. If you think this book will be like the first, you would be mistaken and pleasantly surprised.

Dragon Down: Dragon Guard Book 22

Revenge is a dish best served cold…
Cold was not Kamdyn’s style. Never had been. Never would be. She was the daughter of Evan McGregor, heiress to the power and magic of a hundred centuries of unstoppable witches and no one, not even a cold-hearted, thieving murderer was going to take it from her. She would get back what was hers, defeat the traitor who’d dare to take her family from her, watch him burn then leave his ashes for the Elements. Revenge may be cold, but vengeance burns white-hot.
If it hadn’t been for that blasted dragon…

Be careful what you wish for…
Wishes and dreams were for other people. Callum had learned at a young age to make the most of the hand he’d been dealt. Life was tough, but he was tougher. As the son of one of the most revered Guardsmen of all times, he would take what he wanted and make no apologies. Go down with your sword in your hand and no regrets in your heart was the O’Shea family motto but this dragon had no intentions of going down and regrets… well, they just weren’t his style. Come to think of it, neither was being careful.
If it hadn’t been for that infernal witch…

Secrets revealed, rising passions and an enemy they never saw coming force this couple to accept their Destiny and fight side-by-side to save all they hold dear.

Will it be enough? Will they be in time? Will this be the one time that Fate will be denied?

This standalone addition to the Dragon Guard series features Callum O'Shea, the electric Dragon, who is young and irreverent. Hints of the mate he has yet to meet draw him to a cave, where a protective spell immobolizes him.
Kamdyn McGregor is determined to get her revenge against the false head of the McGregor Coven, but she's been thwarted at every turn. She has escaped the dungeon where he confined her and made it to the cave where she has her emergency cache. Then she hears boot steps, and releases her temporary spell, too late realizing her mistake. But before the spell can wear off, danger comes in the form of a demon in a girl’s body. And before Callum can burn off the spell his beautiful mate threw at him, she's taken by a cloud of black smoke.
I didn't enjoy this book as much as others in the series. It gets 3 stars.

Coming to the Blog!

I’ve been trying to decide on a couple of new series to review. I want to include something different but wasn’t sure exactly what. I think I finally decided on which ones. Yes that’s what I said, more than one.

I have been reading several different Omegaverse series, so one of those. I’m not sure which one exactly. Milan’s Jacks has two nice ones that she is continuing to add to. Piper Scott also has several series of this type.

Age play is another popular theme. Pepper North has some interesting series. There are others that have good books as well. I need to do a little bit more research before I decide.

So, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it!

Like hello this bear is single and honest lol. The chemistry was off the charts! But that’s what you come to expect from a C.D. Gorri book! Beyond stellar stories with some of the best down to earth characters that share some of the most wholesome family values and fellowship coupled with hot steamy sex haha. Sandra and Glenn.... those two can go fly a kite, let me tell ya! I am very curious though what happened to Brenda? Will we see more of her? Pam after all was super hated and she was so misunderstood and lovable. Now she’s one the cherished mates of the series. Will the same happen to Brenda? Also wow we got news on the Hank front!! We now know what kind of shifter he is! Mums the word! No spoilers here! But I’m totally shocked. I don’t think it’s been mentioned unless I totally missed it in a previous book but I’m so looking forward to more from Gorri’s Paranormal Dating series. She truly has a wonderful grasp on how Gerri should act. I absolutely love her rendition of Gerri. It’s spot on perfect. This book was so pleasing. The Tigers started it all for me and I’ve never looked back. I’ve said this so many times. Gorri has so much talent. Stumbling upon her books has been such a blessing to me and escaping into her worlds have given this old soul and heart a break from the beating it’s taken. I know that when I pick up any of her books I don’t have to know what it’s about. I just know I will smile, laugh and sometimes even cry. She’s just simply amazing. Start from the beginning to truly enjoy this book. Even though it’s a standalone there are people mentioned that have come before Lance and Anna. So you might as well read the others first and be up to snuff on your Tigers! This book, like all the Tigers... is special. It gets 5 cosmic stars 💥💥💥💥💥and 2 radiant stars ✨✨from me! It’s a definite keeper for sure!

Annalia and Lance are perfect together. It just takes her a while to accept that any man would want her, with her curly hair and curves. Lance is shocked that she is his one true mate. Gerri Wilder does not make mistakes though, and the Universe and Fate just needed her help to get them together. Eventually Anna realises that he loves her, all of her, and that her sister and brother-in-law were using her for her inheritance to live their lavish lifestyle at her expense. A very good judgement scenario in the end and Anna gets her own back on her so-called family. A brilliant story, and certainly worth 5 stars. Recommended reading.

Twice the Growl: Paranormal Dating Agency Book 1

A BBW in need of a date + Two hot Alphas looking for a mate = The hottest triad ever.

Tally strolled to her apartment building. Her mind never deviated from thoughts of her dilemma. A date to a family wedding so she wouldn’t look like a complete loser in front of her ex. That’s what she’d come to. Why did she care so much this time? She didn’t know. It might be because she’d been the one rejected by everyone other than her grandmother and Nita. She’d been the one snuffed at functions while Paul, the asshole, had been embraced. She wanted a way to show them that she was doing well. No—she wanted to show she was doing great. Childish? Absolutely, but she didn’t care.

Taiden, Milly. Twice The Growl (Paranormal Dating Agency, Book 1) . Latin Goddess Press. Kindle Edition.

Talia was disgusted with her ex. Not content with how he treated her, he took advantage of every opportunity to run her down in front of her family. Now her cousin was getting married and Tally just couldn’t bear to show up by herself. Talking things over with her cousin, Nita, gave her the courage to talk to Geri, the sweet older lady who lived down the hallway.

Geri Wilder was so much more than she appeared to be. A shifter herself, she ran her business out of her apartment. She was the “Go To” matchmaker for the shifters in the area, including her own extended family! Theron and Connor were her grandsons, and two-thirds of an Alpha Triad. Giving up on trying to find their mate, they’ve turned to Geri, who has just the woman for them. One who “checks all their boxes!”

WOW!! It is hard to believe this is the first book I have read from Milly Taiden. By the way if you have not read any of her books, well then you are missing out. This book was super hot. I just loved the characters in the story. I listen to the audio while following along in the ebook and the narrator did a wonderful job. The thing I loved about the narrator was she done an amazing job pulling you into the story. Listen to her you were able to feel the emotion the character felt and I loved how she was able to change her voice with each character.

I normally start talking about the main characters but I think I will start with Gerri Wilder who was Tally’s neighbor. This woman ran a Paranormal dating agency in her home. She had a way of reading you and see who she felt you should be with. I loved how she truly caries for her clients. In the story you will see her show emotion listening to Tally’s story.

Tally had pretty much given up on love. I felt sorry for her. She had this terrible ex and it seems that he did not get the memo that he was no longer part of the family. Yeah I would hate to go to family functions to run into my ex with another woman on his arm.

I loved how Nita’s solution for Tally was to go talk to Gerri Wilder and have her fix her up with a man. I wonder if Tally would of done just that if she would of know what was in store for her.

When the 2 main male characters were introduced, well lets just say they took my breathe away. Connor and Theron was super hot. One had the biker thing going on were the other looked more like a business man.

I wonder if Gerri already knew that Connor and Theron was going to come to her for help on finding a mate. It is almost like she has a foresight about things.

Tally had a wedding to go to and I loved when she found out who her date or should I say dates were. To expect one man and end up with two. Lucky girl. I loved how this ate at her awful ex.Yeah I did not like her ex at all.

I so loved Tally’s grandmother in this story. She is the sweetest thing and thinks the world of her granddaughter, Tally. I also loved Nita who was Tally’s cousin. Tally was so lucky to have these two amazing people in her life.

Things will get hot and heavy in this story. Tally will find that she craves Connor and Theron more then she could ever dream. She does worry about one or both of them tiring of her. She fears putting her heart on the line but it is hard when she has two wonderful wolf shifters swooning you.

I loved when Tally met Connor and Theron’s pack. This will be a make or break moment. I truly hated Keya who was in the pack but like Aura. Tally will have a decision and will have to listen within to do the right thing.

This was a great story and glad I got a chance to read it.

I was a little afraid of reading this book. I didn't know what I was in for. I started reading this and it was definitely not the normal shape shifting book. It is the normal menage book i am use to reading. But I went into reading this like any other with an open mind.

Tally is a human that know that there are shape shifters that she lives among. It is not a surprise to her at all. She was burned by an ex-husband and needed to get out there again when her cousin Nita told her that she should try her neighbors dating service. Gerrie run a paranormal dating agency. She finds mates for the shifters and humans a like. She has a knack for knowing who will fit perfectly for who.

Theron and Connor stopped by one night to see Gerrie. Gerrie is Theron's aunt and Connor is his Omega. What they didn't know is that night would be just the thing to change everybody. Not only would things change for Tally but also Theron and Connor. Gerrie would see to that. The thing that could ruin everything would be rushing the one person they knew would be their mate before she figured it out. Would Tally figure out and take a chance with Theron and Connor? Would Tally past be to much for her to forget and move on?

I would recommend this book to my friends.

On the story itself (2.5 stars): The relationship romance was good, although her best friend is so annoying. The ending... well, let's just say it feels like we rushed past a whole lot of stuff that should have been there or discussed afterward at least. I don't have a problem with the concept of what happens at the end, just felt really sparse on the details.

On the audiobook (4 stars): The narrator did really well voicing the primary triad of people, which was good since they're obviously the main characters with most of the book time. She did absolutely amazing on handling the reading of the very graphic sex scenes in a way that sounded natural and didn't ruin the flow at all. The downside is that a lot of the supporting cast were given some variation on the same annoying nasal voice. I will add that this is the very first fiction audiobook I've made it all the way through without falling asleep -- so that really says something to me.

I decided to go with the higher rating because I feel the audiobook really elevated it.

This is book #3 of the Black Paw Pack Series and it's Wade and Adalyn's story.
Wade is a wolf shifter of the Black Paw Pack, and a very special wolf. He was created by the God Odin and has the job of escorting souls to either Valhalla or Hellheim. It's forbidden for him to tell anyone what he does. He never thought he would ever have a mate, until one day she walks into their territory.
Adalyn is a hybrid - half witch & half wolf. She is the half-sister to the Alpha Rafe. Her evil mother who is a strong witch of their Coven, has sent Adalyn to the Black Paw Pack to be the Alpha of the pack as she is the first born. Oh the betrayal of a mother!! Adalyn just wants to belong and accepted into the Pack. In the Coven she was hated for being a hybrid. When Wade sees her, he knows she's his mate but even though she's attracted to him, she knows nothing about being a wolf. She has a lot to learn.
Wade and Adalyn are both very strong characters. There is suspense, hidden agenda, magic, action and romance. Even though you can read this as a stand alone I would recommend reading the first two books to familiarize yourself with all the characters. Absolutely love this series!

It's been awhile since I have read anything from this author so I had to go back and reread this series. Dang she has not disappointed us with this book. I know things happened that I was very surprised about.

I found myself not being able to stop reading until I made it to the last page. This was a very exciting adventure and it is one you will truly want to be on.

I love how she makes you fall in love with the characters and then makes you sit on your hands holding your breathe to see what happens to them.

Until Next Time.... Tabi
