Twinkle Twinkle Sassy Little Star: Dragon Guard Book 23

Back to the swamp. Back to the wolves. Back to her…

From the moment Grey laid eyes on Star he knew beyond all doubt she was the woman for him, but the sassy little she-wolf wouldn’t even give him the time of day. Then he was called home and all hopes of claiming his mate disappeared. Now, he’s heading back to the sweltering heat of the Florida wetlands and this time she will be his.

Fight the rogues. Fight the wizards. Fight the attraction she has for him…

Star thought the problems with her love life had flown out the window as she watched Grey fly off into the sunset, but now the sexy dragon is back and looking better than a man has a right to. Not only is he tall, dark and handsome, but he makes her wolf roll over and beg to be taken. What’s a girl to do when her happily ever after is staring her in the face but she’s not sure she deserves it?

The Florida Swamps have never been hotter. The wolves are under attack, the full moon is only days away and as if that wasn’t enough, out-of-control wildfires are closing in on all around them. Praying for a miracle won’t work. Fate and Destiny can’t help this time. Only the white-hot magic created by a dragon and his one true mate can save the day and Grey has no intention of taking no for an answer.

“Twinkle, twinkle, my sassy little Star. This dragon knows exactly who you are. And baby, I’m coming for you…”

After all, Fate Will Not Be Denied…or will it?

Rating: 4 out of 5.

These two are such a wonderful couple. Star still believes that she is the reason her entire pack was wiped out. Grey still grieves the disappearance of his brother. Neither one knew just how connected the two incidents actually were!

Everything just flew & the next thing I know I’m finished reading this book.

Grey is not only his name but the color of his dragon & I don’t really remember him in any of the previous books in this series.

Star, is a wolf that I don’t really remember either but, she supposedly has had past dealings with the bad guy.

But, you’ll have to read the book to find out what the deal was.

Twinkle Twinkle Sassy Little Star is a fast, easy and extremely enjoyable read. Julia Mills continues to entertain us with her wonderful stories. If this is the first of the Guardsmen's series you have read, I highly recommend reading all the rest, you will love them and all the characters you will meet.
Star is a sassy wolf who has lost all to the demons of the world and has come to rely on herself for what she needs.
Grey is a grey dragon who also has lost to the same demons. The fates have declared they are to be mated but Star is fighting it.
This story has a little of everything. Some violence, co-operation between species, and some smoking love scenes. Definitely a book for 18+. Happy Reading!!

Fire Maidens #7: Venice by Anna Lowe

Ten years ago, lion shifter Tony Pelligrini was forced to flee Venice after being framed for a murder he didn’t commit. But now, a mysterious force is drawing him back. Is it the feeling of a ticking time bomb only he can defuse? Or is it the call of destiny, promising true love?

His Twisted Tail by Melanie James

This was good! I can’t say I remember reading anything else by this author, but I will definitely change that! This was a worthy entry into the Paranormal Dating Agency world.

She sighed and stared at Gerri. “My mother says I’m a fool. That love doesn’t exist. That I should give up on the idea.”

“Don’t you dare! Love exists. You just need the right man.”

“I want love,” she murmured softly. “I want to be wanted for once. Not just for the troubles I can fix for a man. I want to be wanted for who I am and what I can give back. I want to be loved.”

Gerri nodded. “And we will get you love.”

4-4.5 stars

This was a really good story. I liked Alyssa very much and Gray was a pretty cool as well. Their story was very good and went quickly but I really liked it.

Alyssa is a nice lady who hasn't had good luck with men. She grew up in a house where her father loved her mother a lot but her mother didn't love him back and treated him like crap. Alyssa hoped to find a man who loved her like her father loved her mother (but she'd treat her man much nicer than her mother treated her father). Unfortunately, she keeps finding losers that take advantage of her kind nature, using her and trying to tell her she can't do any better because she's a BBW.

Gray is a Tiger shifter and the leader of his Tiger pride. Growing up there wasn't a lot of room for PDAs and such so Gray grew up believing that love didn't have a place in his life. He's been getting pressure from his pride to take a mate and have cubs but Gray has been holding back because of pure obstinance, not wanting to because people require it of him.

Since Gray wasn't looking for his mate, one of his lieutenants decided to sign him up for the matchmaking service. Alyssa goes out to meet Gray, thinking he's expecting her and that she'll be there for a couple days to get to know Gray. She ends up getting a flat tire as she's getting close to where she needs to go and meets up with a Tiger and a man. She soon gets help and directed to the home of the local pride's leader and is surprised to find out that the pride leader is her "date". Gray is very attracted to Alyssa and sees her as a definite candidate for a mate but he's not real thrilled at his buddy's interference in signing him up for the service without his knowledge. He decides he likes Alyssa enough to go with the situation and see where it heads.

Alyssa is very attracted to Gray and starts having dirty thoughts about him right away. They soon end up exploring their connection (sexually) as well as getting to know each other. Alyssa is happy with Gray because he obviously is different from the other men she's dated and treats her much better. Gray expresses his need for a mate and children and Alyssa likes him enough (and wants a serious relationship and children enough) that she agrees that they can start working on kids, leaving the rest of the relationship to grow as they get to know each other. Things go pretty well between them but there are some issues within the pride that interfere, mainly 2 other tigers that want a chance at Gray's position as leader. There is a bit of danger and drama that have to be dealt with but everything turns out well and Gray and Alyssa end the story starting their HEA together.

This was a really enjoyable story. I really liked Alyssa. She was very straight forward, sweet and had a good sense of humor. Gray was a good hero and his only real detraction was his inability to grasp the concept of him and love co-existing (and that didn't last too long). Overall, this was a very good, low angst PNR and I'd recommend it. 😀

I am a Sassy Mates series fan and faced with a cold winter night and in need of some real entertainment I purchased this series from Milly Taiden in hopes that she would not let me down. In Sassy Mates I was intrigued into purchasing the series with the lure of sexy wolf shifter brothers and their mature accomplished school teachers. I must admit in the past the draw of a menage with wolf shifters(Twice the Growl) , a bear seeking a long lost high school crush(Geek Bearing Gifts) and a tiger shifter faced with giving up his rule of the pride if he can't bring some cubs into the pride soon did not attract me. I am here now to repent of my previous lack of interest and will give Milly Taiden a wide berth in all future paranormal romance novels she may write. This novel is the best of the series so far, even though it seemed shorter than the previous two in the series.
In this novel, Tallia's co-worker Alyssa Moran is in her mid-late 30's and is seeking the partner, children, house with the fence and perfect little forever love scenerio and having been unable to find it on her own, with a slew of loser schmucks in her past, she turns to Geraldine Wilder and the Paranomal Dating Agency to see if she can find "her one" outside of the human race.
Grayson Green is facing a future alone as the leader of his pride and imminent challenges to his leadership if he is unable to produce cubs soon. His soldier and trusted guard Stripes makes contact on his behalf with the PDA and Gerry has the match for Talia as soon as they finish tea at their initial meeting. Gerry takes the dowdy Alyssa shopping for clothes that do not consist of baggy sweats and sends her off to meet her weekend date at his place in the mountains, near Tally's new home with her 2 wolves.
Lost with a malfunctioning GPS and a flat tire she is surprised and frightened when a man and his tiger companion all but attack her on the muddy ground. Tynder is surprised by his tiger companion's response to Alyssa and takes her to the home of one Mr. Green of Green Edge the pride's leader and chief and her blind date.
When Stripes rushes in to attempt to explain the situation that he set up to Gray with the PDA, while Gray is roughly interrogating Alyssa while Tynder stands off to the side, Alyssa is full of sass and wants to know why no one will help her get on the road to meet up with her date for the evening.
Other reviewers have mentioned the quotable lines in this first meeting so I will not repeat them, but they won me over to the writing of Milly Taiden once again. Lyssa mentions to Tynder while Stripes is having a whispering session with Gray, "Do you think we should go? The big sexy one is pretty pissed for some reason." Tynder has a sense of humor the whole time after having met Alyssa roadside a few moments earlier and replies after laughing, "I don't think we should move right now."
Gray is a recluse and an angry anti social one to boot, so when he tells Stripes and Tynder to leave him with Alyssa and Stripes begins to object he is cut off by Gray hissing, "I don't need help talking." Stripes retorts, "Yes, you do. You hate people."
It just gets better from here and the retorts of Lyss are just the tool to break down the walls around Gray's long locked up heart.

Another winner for the Paranormal Dating Agency Genius Mrs. Wilder, when she pairs Alyssa and Gray for a match made in the Tigers Lair. Gray is a rather taciturn and lone tiger kind of guy. Who needs a mate and cubs but doesn't want one. That is until one of his guards fills out the forms that allows Mrs. Wilder to fine his purrfect match, one Ms. Alyssa.

Their introduction is a rather unique experience at least for Alyssa. When her car breaks down and she is literally attacked by one very aroused and very large tiger shifter who suddenly finds he might just really like this idea. The sparks fly and the romance is off to a rather rocky start.

I think you will love this one, as the pack members conspire to overthrow Gray for his place as leader and it takes both he and Alyssa to foil this coupe.

I hope you give this one a read and enjoy it as much as I have

Alyssa and Graysons story. Man oh man what a story. You have a beautiful curvy woman that is the poster child for crazy cat lady except she is not she just loves cats all types. When she is set up she is under the assumption that Grayson is looking for love nevermind that he is super sexy and has a body angels and demons envy. She is looking for someone to love her just as she is. Grayson knows who she is and whats even better his feline wants her very much. When her car breaks down traveling to meet Grayson she is welcomed by a huge tiger that would rather eat her in a different way than harm her. He keeps sticking to he only wants cubs but cannot help but to fall in love with alyssa. Typical man to deny what is in front of you and darn near lose it all because of pride. I gave this book a 4 out of 5 stars because I wanted a little bit more. Some people seem to forget that the rules that would normally govern humans dont apply when shifters come into play. Maybe they are producing enough phermones to get someone high as a kite so what. You have to think of the fantasy part of it because if shifters were real I would gladly roll over to get my tummy scratched ;).

It’s Been One of “Those” Weeks!

I spent most of last week without my car. When you get to be my age, that can be an absolute pain in the rear. Let me give you a little background though.

This past January I received a coupon for an oil change from AAA. One of their Car Care Plus centers is near my house. Our car needed an oil change so we took it there. While they were changing the oil, they also checked such things as the fluids, the brakes, and so forth.

The front brakes were fine, but the back brakes would need to be changed before long. It took a month or two, but in April we had the work done. Unfortunately this time as they were doing the complimentary checks, they noticed an oil leak. My husband insisted that it wasn’t anything that needed work on immediately and we took the car home.

Maybe we should have had the work done then, I don’t know. A week ago while driving home from the store, we heard a noise but couldn’t see where it came from. The next day I had a warning light come on to “Service Battery Charging System.” That was my second clue. Two days later the car was dead on it’s axles at the house.

Ted, our carpenter friend, came up to help with it. We checked the battery, we charged the battery, nothing. Using a battery charger/starter, we got it started. The light was still on! Then Ted noticed that the Serpentine belt was missing. That being broken was the noise we heard!

So I called AAA Roadside Assistance and had the car towed up to the Car Care center. Late that day, I got a call back with the bad news. The belt had broken because that little oil leak my husband dismissed had been leaking onto the belt. Once the belt became saturated, it broke. They would need to clean the engine in order to find the source of the leak. We needed the car fixed so we reluctantly agreed to this.

Mid afternoon the next day we got the news. They’d found the source of the leak, but they were going to have to remove several things in order to reach that gasket. It would take replacing the timing cover and seal, the front oil seal, the oil pan gasket and a complete oil change to fix it. Ouch!

It was Friday afternoon before I was able to pick my car back up. That little oil leak in April lead to a $1600 dollar repair in June. The biggest single item on the bill was the labor. The good news is that since the Car Care Plus center is own and operated by AAA, the repairs are guaranteed.

Geek Bearing Gifts: Paranormal Dating Agency #2

“I want a man to want me for me.” Hearing the words come out of her mouth made her wince. A troubled knot tightened around her heart, clasping her normal self-assurance in a vice grip. “I wasn’t wanted by boys growing up. Most girls didn’t want to be around the fat girl. When someone did take the time to talk to me, they wanted something, and that something was usually to make fun of me.”

Taiden, Milly. Geek Bearing Gifts (Paranormal Dating Agency, Book 2) . Latin Goddess Press. Kindle Edition.

Nita Islas wants to find love. She’s tired of the superficial relationships and is ready to give true romance a try. She uses the Paranormal Dating Agency and hopes they can help her where all others have failed. What she didn’t expect was to find her date flat on his back in nothing more than a towel.

Ky Stone has been in love with curvy and funny Nita since they were in High School. When she moved away, she took his heart with her. Then one day Ky wakes up to find her leaning over him. He’s sure he’s died and gone to heaven. He has no idea what she’s doing there, but he’s sure as hell not letting her leave.

Fate, meddling family and the PDA have brought them together again. The chemistry between them is explosive. But there’s problems with Ky’s neighboring clan and he’s keeping secrets from Nita. He needs to find a way to open up to her or lies and unexpected danger could tear them apart…forever.

Mrs Wilder is fantastic as a matchmaker. The world building is something you have to read to believe. There’s humor and romance a plenty in this delightful story. What appeals to me is the leads to the next story. Which, by the way, I can’t wait to read!🤗

Marissa intends to destroy the lives of the men who had raped and murdered her sister, including their father. Erin, her sister, was a wolf shifter and she was killed by a group of Hunters, who want to destroy all shifters. Of course, the men of the wolf packs decide that she needs to be rescued. Marissa doesn't need to be rescued, she wants to be left alone to finish her retribution. But, Ethan Storm is a past love and when he was made a wolf shifter to save his life, he realized then that Marissa was his fated mate. Six years later, he finally decides that he needs to claim her. The result is a very entertaining story.

Delta James is one of my favorite authors. I really enjoy the stories she writes about shifters. I can't wait for the next two books in this series.

Dragon Down: Dragon Guard Book 22

Revenge is a dish best served cold…
Cold was not Kamdyn’s style. Never had been. Never would be. She was the daughter of Evan McGregor, heiress to the power and magic of a hundred centuries of unstoppable witches and no one, not even a cold-hearted, thieving murderer was going to take it from her. She would get back what was hers, defeat the traitor who’d dare to take her family from her, watch him burn then leave his ashes for the Elements. Revenge may be cold, but vengeance burns white-hot.
If it hadn’t been for that blasted dragon…

Be careful what you wish for…
Wishes and dreams were for other people. Callum had learned at a young age to make the most of the hand he’d been dealt. Life was tough, but he was tougher. As the son of one of the most revered Guardsmen of all times, he would take what he wanted and make no apologies. Go down with your sword in your hand and no regrets in your heart was the O’Shea family motto but this dragon had no intentions of going down and regrets… well, they just weren’t his style. Come to think of it, neither was being careful.
If it hadn’t been for that infernal witch…

Secrets revealed, rising passions and an enemy they never saw coming force this couple to accept their Destiny and fight side-by-side to save all they hold dear.

Will it be enough? Will they be in time? Will this be the one time that Fate will be denied?

This standalone addition to the Dragon Guard series features Callum O'Shea, the electric Dragon, who is young and irreverent. Hints of the mate he has yet to meet draw him to a cave, where a protective spell immobolizes him.
Kamdyn McGregor is determined to get her revenge against the false head of the McGregor Coven, but she's been thwarted at every turn. She has escaped the dungeon where he confined her and made it to the cave where she has her emergency cache. Then she hears boot steps, and releases her temporary spell, too late realizing her mistake. But before the spell can wear off, danger comes in the form of a demon in a girl’s body. And before Callum can burn off the spell his beautiful mate threw at him, she's taken by a cloud of black smoke.
I didn't enjoy this book as much as others in the series. It gets 3 stars.

Coming to the Blog!

I’ve been trying to decide on a couple of new series to review. I want to include something different but wasn’t sure exactly what. I think I finally decided on which ones. Yes that’s what I said, more than one.

I have been reading several different Omegaverse series, so one of those. I’m not sure which one exactly. Milan’s Jacks has two nice ones that she is continuing to add to. Piper Scott also has several series of this type.

Age play is another popular theme. Pepper North has some interesting series. There are others that have good books as well. I need to do a little bit more research before I decide.

So, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it!

Twice the Growl: Paranormal Dating Agency Book 1

A BBW in need of a date + Two hot Alphas looking for a mate = The hottest triad ever.

Tally strolled to her apartment building. Her mind never deviated from thoughts of her dilemma. A date to a family wedding so she wouldn’t look like a complete loser in front of her ex. That’s what she’d come to. Why did she care so much this time? She didn’t know. It might be because she’d been the one rejected by everyone other than her grandmother and Nita. She’d been the one snuffed at functions while Paul, the asshole, had been embraced. She wanted a way to show them that she was doing well. No—she wanted to show she was doing great. Childish? Absolutely, but she didn’t care.

Taiden, Milly. Twice The Growl (Paranormal Dating Agency, Book 1) . Latin Goddess Press. Kindle Edition.

Talia was disgusted with her ex. Not content with how he treated her, he took advantage of every opportunity to run her down in front of her family. Now her cousin was getting married and Tally just couldn’t bear to show up by herself. Talking things over with her cousin, Nita, gave her the courage to talk to Geri, the sweet older lady who lived down the hallway.

Geri Wilder was so much more than she appeared to be. A shifter herself, she ran her business out of her apartment. She was the “Go To” matchmaker for the shifters in the area, including her own extended family! Theron and Connor were her grandsons, and two-thirds of an Alpha Triad. Giving up on trying to find their mate, they’ve turned to Geri, who has just the woman for them. One who “checks all their boxes!”

This is the absolutely delightful start to the Kindle world knows as the Paranormal Dating Agency. Written with witt and style, it is sure to give you a smile as you read it. The characters are loveable and likeable. The situations they find themselves in are ones that relate to our everyday lives.

WOW!! It is hard to believe this is the first book I have read from Milly Taiden. By the way if you have not read any of her books, well then you are missing out. This book was super hot. I just loved the characters in the story. I listen to the audio while following along in the ebook and the narrator did a wonderful job. The thing I loved about the narrator was she done an amazing job pulling you into the story. Listen to her you were able to feel the emotion the character felt and I loved how she was able to change her voice with each character.

I normally start talking about the main characters but I think I will start with Gerri Wilder who was Tally’s neighbor. This woman ran a Paranormal dating agency in her home. She had a way of reading you and see who she felt you should be with. I loved how she truly caries for her clients. In the story you will see her show emotion listening to Tally’s story.

Tally had pretty much given up on love. I felt sorry for her. She had this terrible ex and it seems that he did not get the memo that he was no longer part of the family. Yeah I would hate to go to family functions to run into my ex with another woman on his arm.

I loved how Nita’s solution for Tally was to go talk to Gerri Wilder and have her fix her up with a man. I wonder if Tally would of done just that if she would of know what was in store for her.

When the 2 main male characters were introduced, well lets just say they took my breathe away. Connor and Theron was super hot. One had the biker thing going on were the other looked more like a business man.

I wonder if Gerri already knew that Connor and Theron was going to come to her for help on finding a mate. It is almost like she has a foresight about things.

Tally had a wedding to go to and I loved when she found out who her date or should I say dates were. To expect one man and end up with two. Lucky girl. I loved how this ate at her awful ex.Yeah I did not like her ex at all.

I so loved Tally’s grandmother in this story. She is the sweetest thing and thinks the world of her granddaughter, Tally. I also loved Nita who was Tally’s cousin. Tally was so lucky to have these two amazing people in her life.

Things will get hot and heavy in this story. Tally will find that she craves Connor and Theron more then she could ever dream. She does worry about one or both of them tiring of her. She fears putting her heart on the line but it is hard when she has two wonderful wolf shifters swooning you.

I loved when Tally met Connor and Theron’s pack. This will be a make or break moment. I truly hated Keya who was in the pack but like Aura. Tally will have a decision and will have to listen within to do the right thing.

This was a great story and glad I got a chance to read it.

I was a little afraid of reading this book. I didn't know what I was in for. I started reading this and it was definitely not the normal shape shifting book. It is the normal menage book i am use to reading. But I went into reading this like any other with an open mind.

Tally is a human that know that there are shape shifters that she lives among. It is not a surprise to her at all. She was burned by an ex-husband and needed to get out there again when her cousin Nita told her that she should try her neighbors dating service. Gerrie run a paranormal dating agency. She finds mates for the shifters and humans a like. She has a knack for knowing who will fit perfectly for who.

Theron and Connor stopped by one night to see Gerrie. Gerrie is Theron's aunt and Connor is his Omega. What they didn't know is that night would be just the thing to change everybody. Not only would things change for Tally but also Theron and Connor. Gerrie would see to that. The thing that could ruin everything would be rushing the one person they knew would be their mate before she figured it out. Would Tally figure out and take a chance with Theron and Connor? Would Tally past be to much for her to forget and move on?

I would recommend this book to my friends.

On the story itself (2.5 stars): The relationship romance was good, although her best friend is so annoying. The ending... well, let's just say it feels like we rushed past a whole lot of stuff that should have been there or discussed afterward at least. I don't have a problem with the concept of what happens at the end, just felt really sparse on the details.

On the audiobook (4 stars): The narrator did really well voicing the primary triad of people, which was good since they're obviously the main characters with most of the book time. She did absolutely amazing on handling the reading of the very graphic sex scenes in a way that sounded natural and didn't ruin the flow at all. The downside is that a lot of the supporting cast were given some variation on the same annoying nasal voice. I will add that this is the very first fiction audiobook I've made it all the way through without falling asleep -- so that really says something to me.

I decided to go with the higher rating because I feel the audiobook really elevated it.
