I love that Hamersveld has found some redeeming qualities within himself and that he has partially stood up for what he felt was wrong. I am expecting great things to come from him.
Natalie changed too once she got away for her prison cell and was with Sveld.
The only thing negative I have to say is that the ending ended with a bit of a cliffhanger between these two.
I realize that several things have to change before they receive their complete hea. (I was sort of hoping that he could join in with Mac's group.) This would probably be an epic novel if everything happened at once.
I am biting at the bit to get more of these glorious dragon stories!

Fury of Conviction is the second book in the Dragonfury Short Story Collection by Coreene Callahan. Who doesn’t love a great dragon shifter story- I know I do! So, it was never any question that I would snap up a copy of this book the moment I saw it in my notifications.
Coreene Callahan is a ‘new-to-me’ author and I am really baffled as to why I haven’t come across her books before now, because after doing a little stalking- er, um, I mean research, I discovered that she has written a slew of Dragonfury books, and as I mentioned before, I LOVE dragon shifter stories, so I am kicking myself that I have been missing out all this time, and I hate missing out on good books lol….
Anyway, I digress, back to my review. This is a great little paranormal romance, with DRAGON SHIFTERS 😊, fantasy, kidnapping, drama, agendas, chemistry, and action. It was a great introduction to Ms. Callahan’s style, and definitely gave me a taste for her work. The only issue I have is that I wish it had been longer (this is a novella length quick and easy read) as there were aspects of the story I would like to have explored in greater detail. It really made me curious about the pack and the Dragonfury ‘world’- so I will definitely be going back to explore the rest of the Dragonfury books/series- as there seems to be quite a lot of full length novels there for me to sink my teeth into…. so stay tuned.

What an excellent way to begin a spin-off series of the incredibly addicting shifter writings of Delta James!

In this book, we get to experience the now adult children of two beloved couples from the "Tangled Vines" series. Travis and Skylar are wonderful. Travis is such an amazing character. We have come to expect the alpha wolf way of "being brought to heel" once they claim their fated mate. Travis was so different. He gave up what was to be his pack by rights, in order to let Skylar spread her wings and fly, with him right by her side. His acceptance of her strong personality, courtesy of her strong willed female descendants as well as his, allowed for this story to be so different from the rest. Instead of the usual fight for acceptance of being fated mates, Skylar welcomed this pairing, knowing that Travis would not suffocate her into the life of Mistress of the Pack, letting her live the life she was meant to live all along. The passion and strength of their love, allowing for the dile wolf to form...swoon!

The Wayward Mate series was fabulous! Characters were well developed sassy strong and sultry heroines and their Alpha Mates are hot hunky and hilarious even when being overbearingly sexy. The Legacy series is just as good. Delta James is a fabulous author spinning erotic romance with suspenseful stories that keep you hooked from each chapter to the next book. 5.0 out of 5 stars An intense and creative story with lots of passion and intrigue
Reviewed in the United States on October 25, 2021
“Touch of Darkness” is the second book in the ‘Fated Legacy’ series by Delta James. First let me say you need not have read any of the books related to it in order to understand and enjoy this one. I’d like to take a minute to set the stage, though. This series presents us with the next generation of lead characters from two of the author’s other series - ‘Wayward Mates’ and ‘Tangled Vines’. They are all paranormal stories with wolf-shifters and humans, and are interconnected standalone stories.

The heroine in “Touch of Darkness” is Skylar Gautier. She’s the she-wolf alpha daughter of Jean Michele and Darby Gautier, who are the Alpha and Mistress of Orleans. Skyler's fated mate is Travis Nichols. He’s the alpha son of Cameron and Riley Nichols, the Alpha and Mistress of Galveston. An Alpha is a pack leader and a Mistress of a powerful pack runs things with him. An alpha is born with the traits of a leader but for various reasons may not end up actually serving as the Alpha of a pack.

Skyler is a strong female character. She’s an uncommon female alpha, and a tenacious police officer seeking to become a detective. Tyler, destined to be her mate, is a successful chef by trade. His birthright is to eventually take over for his father as a pack Alpha, but he’s perfectly willing to give that up and change his life around so he can support, encourage and protect Skylar any way he can while she pursues her dangerous career. Make no mistake, it’s extremely dangerous … especially now that she’s chasing a demented serial killer who seems to have Skylar as one of his intended victims. Skylar is not in any way submissive – except to Tyler, when she accepts that they are fated for one another, and accepts him as her Alpha.

This book has an excellent story, multidimensional characters, hot passion, cold-blooded murders, irresistible intrigue and lots of creativity woven into everything. It’s intense. Although the book has a conclusion, it’s clear that a broader storyline will carry forward into the next book, and I look forward to experiencing it.

I received an ARC of this book and am sharing my honest opinion after reading it.

Although it felt like we waited forever for book 6 (Forge's story), I was not disappointed. Forge is one of my favorite characters so I was thrilled to read his story. The connection between him and Hope was very fast and resembled a runaway locomotive--just like the prior couples. Both damaged people who needed someone to cling to and who would listen and understand.

This book not only gave us Forge's mate, but Exshaw finally arrived. I’ve been waiting for him since Hamersveld told Ivar how he got Fen in Fury of Desire (book 4). I'm looking forward to seeing this new little guy in action. I’m sure he’s going to be a pistol.

While we didn't have a lot of scenes that included Forge’s son, there was some interaction with Forge, Hope and G.M. I know other reviewers were upset about this, but I felt it was just the right amount.

I really enjoyed the scene in the garage, with Gage, Osgard, and Forge. Gage’s protectiveness of the young man was really endearing. I also really liked the interaction between Osgard and Forge.

Oh, and we got a few really good scenes with Daimler. I love this guy! He really showed his personality with Hope in this story.

I intrigued by the way Ivar was acting in this story. It reminded me of how he was in “Fury Of Fate.” His development character wise feels necessary to me. In the beginning of the series, he was totally evil and the primary antagonist for the Nightfuries. Now we have a much larger number of bad guys so it’s interesting to see him continue to be developed. Although I don’t think he can be 100% redeemed, I’m finding myself hating Rodin, Zidane, and the Archguard much more.

I’m looking forward to book 7. I hope the wait isn’t as long as between books 5 and 6.

I love all the books in this series. That being said I have waited for Forge's story. Ms. Callahan did not disappoint. Hope is a great match for Forge. She is strong and he needs a strong woman. All the Nightfury dragons are back, as well as Ivan and his pack. This book has lots of action, Ivan finally finds the cure for the superbug he released in the last book. I don't want to give too much away so here goes. Hope is a psychologist who works with victims who have been hurt. She is approached by Mac and Angela to help Forge unlock his past. Forge and Hope's first meeting is great. While trying to get together, Hope's fighting being with a patient, her doubting her work ethics, there is the problem with Mac. This is my new favorite in the series...at least until the next one. I have told my friends they have to read this. It is so wonderful. If you like shap-shifters or dragon stories it is well worth the money and it will leave you wanting more.

Coreene has done it again. Fury of Surrender is an amazing chapter in the Dragonfury series. This time we get to learn about Forge, our favorites Scottish Nightfury and ooooooooo boy does he not disappoint. Your heart aches for the struggles he is working through and you can't help but root for him.

The female lead, Hope, is wonderful and next to Angela and JJ, she's become one of my favorites. Her spine is wonderful and you're cheering for her the whole time. You can't help but get wrapped up in her background as well too.

And a side note.... There is a lot of emotion and feelings wrapped around Ivar and once again Coreene has me wanting and cheering for him more and more.

The book, as all her previous ones do, sucks you in and has you getting lost in the story and wishing that you were in Seattle and could find a dragon of your own.

Be aware that the sex scenes tend to be a little graphic. But, this book is not constant sex, unlike some I've come across. There is a storyline and character development. I thought the author did a good job of balancing between romance and action. I have also read a couple of her other books in a different series, also excellent. Plus, unlike some other books, this didn't require any editing. I could just read the story, rather than blunder along with misspellings, punctuation, and grammar.

They say I died… they are wrong

Once more a malevolent presence threatens wolfen society. They say my love story with my fated mate, Darby, ended with my death, but they were wrong. This prequel to the Fated Legacy Series is a bridge between Jean-Michel and Darby's and friends' stories and their children. Jean-Michel and Darby's love story is one for the ages, and their chemistry is still off the charts hot. In 2028, they have been mated 10 years with three children, and are still very much in love. In 2038, their 20th anniversary year, their love is renewed, and they have added two more sons. In 2048, Jean-Michel is 50, and his son Jean-Edouard is poised to take over the pack of New Orleans, and is ready to claim his fated mate.

Sometimes she gets carried away with the whole alpha male thing and it is a bit abusive and completely unrealistic but I must say this new series so far is the BEST! Ok I cried my ass off Darby and Jean Michael have always been one of her best couples and to think off them not dieing at the same time during a knot they fall asleep together to is heart wrenching. Thank god Delta had other ideas. This story is of their family and friends it’s definitely worth the read and I’m excited for the next, Little Skylar and Dax story.

There are three distinct parts to this book all with ten years between so we're seeing the different stages of Jean-Michele Gautier and Darby's relationship and how all these friends tie into their love of family. This is the first book in the Fated Legacy Series and as always with all of Delta James books I am always excited to read the start of a new series and this was no different. It started with the wonderful celebration of the tenth anniversary of Jean-Michel Gautier and his Fated mate Darby becoming Fated Mates. Along with their three children and their friends and pack as they all come together to celebrate and wish their friends and Alpha and Mistress the very best.
It was wonderful to reconnect with characters in her past books the women and now mates from Bae Dogal and their Alphas and their children who are already starting to make their way in their packs, the males are as dominant as their fathers and daughters are as stubborn and opinionated as their mothers and all would die to protect their pack and anyone in need of help.
I do not want to give away too much about this book but I will say that I am not ashamed to say that I shed a tear at one point and I am sure other readers will do the same, after reading these books since the very beginning you feel an affinity for the characters almost as though they are friends you have come to know and regard fondly.
I cannot wait for the next book in this two part series, I have loved reading about the children of the past alphas and their mates as they begin to make their own way in life, taking over the responsibility for their own packs and its members.

The Dragonfury books are one of my favorites. I have loved Venom from the first book. I was really looking forward to his story. While the overall story was good, there just wasn't much of Venom and Evie.
Evelyn has fallen on hard times, she's lost her job, and her mother died recently leaving her to handle the huge gambling debt she owes the Russian mob. She finds herself in a dire situation with, in her mind, only one option left. Sell the only thing she has left to sell, herself.
Venom is a rarity among Dragonkind, a venomous dragon. A very powerful one. He has toxins running through his veins. Any prolonged contact with his skin could kill. He has never been able to spend more than an hour at a time with any female. He's lonely. Now with his best friend mated, he's not only lonely, but bored. That's when he finds himself breaking protocol and heading out without backup, looking for a little female attention. Which is how he ends up meeting Evie. She is a very High Energy female. Very desirable among his kind. And there is instant attraction. One touch and Venom knows she is strong enough to handle his touch. He also knows he's found his mate. But he's determined not to do what his pack mates have done when they find their mates. Kidnapping is not in his plan, he wants to woo her, date her, and introduce her to his world slowly. Things don't go quite as planned, he lets her go, and she finds herself face to face with his enemy. And then he kidnaps her.
This was a good story, but it had a different feel than the earlier books. It seems the farther we get into the major story arc, the war between the Nightfuries and the Razorbacks, the romance seems to drop off the page and we get more of an urban fantasy type story. Venom and Evie meet early in the book, but they don't get together until almost half way through the book. There are lots of subplots going on at once. The metallics, Haider and Gage, dealing with their escape, Ivar and his plotting and dealing with his "superbug", Bastian dealing with everything. I missed the females, the other mates, in this book. Daimler does make a brief appearance but I missed the "family feel" of them being at Black Diamond.
It felt like juggling with too many balls in the air at the same time.
I definitely wouldn't recommend starting with this book. There is too much back story missing. Go back and read the earlier books, get the whole story. It's worth it. I will keep reading the series, I just hope they get back to what drew me to the series in the first place, the romance.

He can’t escape the sins of his past…

Toxic to all those who touch him, dragon-warrior Venom lives in self-imposed isolation, a prisoner of the poison in his veins. But when a chance meeting with a woman challenges the belief he is destined to be alone, he pulls out all the stops, vowing to put the savagery of his past behind him and take a chance on love.

She doesn’t want to face her future…

Wanted by the Russian mob, creative accountant Evelyn Foxe isn’t looking for love. She searching for the fastest way to escape instead. When Venom offers to get her out of trouble, she accepts his help, but remains skeptical, afraid he’s in league with those sent to harm her. But when someone unleashes a biological weapon in her hometown, and she gets caught in the firestorm, little choice remains—trust Venom to keep her safe or risk her life by going it alone.

My review .....
I'm going to try to give this a biased review, but be warned .... I LOVE THIS SERIES 😁
So .......
Oh my word !!! Wick is my favourite warrior, but Venom is now a close second.
These warriors are half human, half dragon. Turning into a plethora of different types, fire breathing, lava exploding, and snow blowing ones.
But Venom is special, his forte is toxins. Nothing effects him, but the downside, he can't stay close to a female for too long, only long enough to gain energy, (dragons are only male, they gain energy to survive by tapping into a female energy, using sex)
He has watched from the sidelines as each of his brothers in arms finds his female, they fall in love, bond and live happily ever after, even his best friend Wick, (who hated to take energy from the females) finds a female all of his very own.
Venom is now feeling a little left out, lonely and jealous.
After being taken out of rotation,( not all dragons are good, we have Ivar and his band of dragons) Venom defies his leader and sneaks out, he wants company, the female variety.
Evelyn Foxe is desperate for money, her mother left her with huge gambling debts, and now the Russian mob want it back. And after losing her job, Evelyn is flat broke. She sees her only way out is to sell her soul and body to make the next monthly payment.
The meeting between Venom and Evelyn is explosive, from almost the first moment Venom meets this mysterious lady he is hooked, and once he finds out she is his mate !! Then all bets are off, we are talking alpha male to the max, he wants to know all about Evelyn and how she came to be in the hotel.
There are a few other stories going on, but nothing to distract from the chemistry and the love building between the two main characters.
I've loved this series from the beginning, and I'm hoping Coreene has many more books for us to explore.

This is the fifth book in the Dragon Fury series. I absolutely loved it!

First off, I would like to say that I love the cover! Venom's eyes! *Sigh!*

I downloaded this book in both Kindle and audiobook format, as I have the other books in the series in this way too. This gives me the opportunity to either read or listen to the story, depending on my mood. The audio book is narrated by Cole Ferguson, who does a wonderful job in bringing the characters to life. I must admit I was a little disappointed that Benjamin L. Darcie was no longer narrating the books, but Cole Ferguson's voice sounded just as sexy, so all in all, I wasn't disappointed for long!

Venom is a fantastic character. I have enjoyed getting to know this particular dragon. He has a multitude of layers that get peeled back and revealed as the story progresses. This made me even more intrigued with him, as he has a few secrets that I never would have guessed, and a vulnerability that surprised me, as he struck me as a very confident man who is not afraid of much. That is, until he meets Evelyn Foxe.

Evelyn (Evie) Foxe is also a wonderful character. I liked her very much. She is normally an emotionally strong woman, who usually knows what she wants and goes for it, but now she's desperate. She is a forensic accountant, who has had the rug pulled out from under her feet and is struggling to find a job, and keep a Russian mobster off her back. Can Venom be her ticket out of the situation she finds herself in? Or will she be in more danger?

I have been eagerly waiting for the release of this book for some time. It was well worth the wait! I started to listen to the story and was quickly hooked. I have become totally addicted to this series! The story, in a way, continues on from Fury of Desire. There is a definite story arc beginning to appear and gather pace, as this story is told through several points of view and not just Venom's and Evie's.

All of the dragons from the Night Fury pack are worried about Gage and Hadar, who have gone missing in Prague. These two dragons have not featured much in the story up until now, but as the story arc opens up and the reader gets to see what is happening in Prague, they suddenly become extremely important. There's some seriously sick things happening in that part of the world, and Gage and Hadar find themselves in serious danger. I know it sounds a bit strange, but I really enjoyed their story, even though it's not very nice. There is lots of violence and danger, but these two are a force to be reckoned with. I must admit that Nian is not too shabby himself!
Back in Seattle, Ivar is waiting for results on his experiment, but even he is shocked at the results. Venom and Evie's romance is fraught with excitement and danger. However, I felt their story, although integral to the plot, got a little sidelined due to the larger story arc. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but if you compare the first story to this one, they have less page time together than Bastian and Myst. But, it makes a nice change to have an interracial coupling. I haven't read many books where this occurs, and it brings a different dimension to the story. It also makes me wonder about Sloan's story. Will we ever get to read it one day? I hope so. I reached the end of the story and though it doesn't end on a cliffhanger, it made me look forward to reading/listening to the next book in the series as soon as possible. I just hope I don't have to wait as long for it though!

Coreene Callahan has written another fantastic paranormal romance. She is fast becoming one of my favourite authors to read. Her books are fast paced, exciting and extremely addictive! I love her writing style and the flow is absolutely wonderful!

Due to the use of bad language and the explicit sexual scenes, I do not recommend this book for younger readers. However, I highly recommend this book if you love erotic paranormal romances or books with sexy dragon shifters! - Lynn Worton

This was so good. I am not going to lie a few times I was close to tears. To be separated from your fated mate for so long. Delta thank you for using a older she-Wolf in your book. Notice I said older not old. Reading about Char makes me feel young. Daniel was a very patient and loving mate all those years and he never lost hope. This was truly a great read. I enjoyed The Tangled Vines Series very much. Great job Delta James.

This was the most emotional of all of the books in this series for me when fated mates
were torn apart without a thought for their happiness. I admired Charlotte’s resilience
and the length she went through to keep her fated mate plus her son safe. Daniel never
gave up on a future with Char and his son. He had no choice but to let them go, but
nothing was stopping him from claiming Char now that she was free from a loveless
marriage. Char tried to resist Daniel, but he was like a wildfire that threatened to
consume her. Char realized that Daniel and Raphaêl were as different as night and day.
Daniel respected her opinions while Raphaêl had been harsh and demanding, but she
was not prepared to be vulnerable again.

This was an entertaining story filled with action, danger, sizzling sex scenes, and just the
right amount of spankings. I enjoyed the inclusions of the characters from previous books.
The women continued to defy their men and wreck damage on their enemies. At the core
of it this was a true love story.

It was a pleasure to read this suspenseful second-chance shifter romance & it will definitely capture the reader’s attention. The plot is well-written & has extremely good world building, with intense, emotional scenes. The main characters have interesting back-stories and one of them (a alpha male wolf, Daniel) was absolutely determined & stopped at nothing in order to finally claim his mate (Charlotte aka Char)
There is: wolf shifters, hunters, action, adventure, fated mates, twists & turns, intrigue, suspense, family/pack issues, deceit, betrayal, conspiracies, blackmail, vengeful feelings, conflict, danger, threats, retribution, defiance, discipline, spankings, domination/submission, contentment, steamy scenes, love & a well-deserved, satisfying conclusion for this couple. I honestly enjoyed reading this shifter romance & would recommend this shifter romance & the series to people who enjoy reading this genre.

Fury of Fate (Dragonfury Bad Boys Shifter Series Book 1)

Ivar is a villain no doubt. It’s almost impossible for him to be redeemed, but this story makes me want more. We have had snippets into his mind before, but didn’t see him coming around. I can see it now. I read this when it first came out and just reread it now that I’ve jumped back into the series. I’m going to be honest, I read a lot of dark romance, so an Ivar and Sasha book would be right up my alley. I’m hoping CC has something planned for these two. I’d be disappointed if she didn’t. I have hope with the villains series.

Sasha is not in the habit of letting strange men into her house, but this night will be different. When Ivar decides to protect his secret hideout and get his neighbor to be quiet, he has no idea that he is about to have the wildest night of his life. Ivar is no ordinary man; he is a dragon. At the end, he gets the surprise of his life. If you like quick, steamy, paranormal reads, you might enjoy this story. At the end, I wanted more. Sasha and Ivar have more to tell us. Their story is not complete. I hope the author gives us a more detailed glimpse into Sasha and Ivar’s lives. I want them to have more than a one-night stand.

Trey Mitchell’s day isn’t much better. She’s been ordered to investigate Cyrus’s death. The list of suspects is long and includes the love of her life—Cade as well as his brothers and Cyrus’s trophy wife. All of them had a reason to kill Cyrus and the only witnesses aren’t talking.

Secrets abound in Appaloosa County. Will separating truth from lie and fact from fantasy, force Cade and Trey apart or bind them one to the other for this life… and all the lives to come?

Delta James' newest series is heavy on the mystery, sex, and as usual, arrogant, demanding alpha males. Both Untamed and Determined end on cliffhangers, so if you are not a fan, you might want to wait until the entire series is complete. Overall, I enjoyed this story. Cade isn't as arrogantly demanding as many of James' other males leads, but he often does take choices away from Trey. While he "allows" her to continue her career, he is overly protective and doesn't always treat her like the capable woman she is. I do wish Trey would have stood up to Cade more often, but like most of the female characters that James' writes, she is too often overcome with lust.

A really good and interesting story overall, but ridiculous with the amount of sex scenes (I started skimming over them after the 4th - 5th one). Example - Trey encounters a life and death situation while finding out about Cade's true nature, and they immediately have wild sex out on the mesa! Really??? A lead investigator/Former FBI agent would NOT act this way! A bit more realism in reference to relationships would be great! Especially a character finding out her man is an animal shifter!

This is the first book in a new series called Ghost Cat Canyon. It's a fast-paced and continuation from the prequel, Determined, that will keep you engaged from start to finish. Warning: this book does end on a cliffhanger! There's action, adventure, drama, danger, suspense, twist/turns, enemies, survival, intrigue, humor, mystery/secrets, surprises, family, friends/friendships, anger, fear, pain, conflict, resolution, confusion, confidence, strength, courage, stubbornness, struggles, tension, arrogance, doubts, turmoil (emotional), murder, complications, death, evil, violence, confrontations, jealousy, contentment, possessiveness, acceptance, protection, frustration, determination, happiness, romance, passion/lust and love.
In this part of the story, the h and H are investigating several murders, including the murder of the H father and also the death of his mother ten years ago.
Read to find out what happens. I voluntarily reviewed this book and this review is my own opinion.

Cade and Trey are my new sizzling power couple! Both are strong in their own right, but together they are explosive. The back story is exciting and suspenseful, and I can’t wait to see where the author takes us. My favorite series are those where each book is complete as far as the main characters are concerned but the overarching story leaves questions that need to be answered in subsequent releases (love me some suspense and intrigue). But what makes this author special is that we, as readers, are compelled to continue not just for the storyline but to see what happens in the lives of favorite supporting characters. I thought her alpha wolves were hot, but her mountain lions have prowled their way and sunk their barbs into my imagination. Fabulous start to what promises to be a fantastic series.

Fast paced story, no filler. Excellent characters. You can tell the two main characters had a past and have moved past it, well, sort of. The sex is hot, explicit and definitely D / s. There is a lot of spanking but it is the erotic kind and very well done. The story is excellent, you won't find out who the murderer is or the reason for the murder in this book but it does set an excellent stage with many twists and turns.

Fury of Desire (Dragonfury Book 4)

Of all of the warriors in the Nightfury pack, none is more complicated or more damaged than Wick. Emotionally scarred from a childhood of slavery and torture, Wick can barely stand the touch of another person. But all bets are off when he meets newcomer J.J. Solares. When J.J. is unjustly imprisoned, Wick agrees to help rescue and return her to the family fold. But Wick lives a life of self-imposed isolation, even among his beloved brothers in arms. Venturing into the world to seek justice for J.J. may be more than he can bear.

Meanwhile J.J. fights for her life at the hands of brutal prison guard Griggs. When she winds up in the hospital she sees no hope for things getting better. But events take a dramatic turn when she and Wick encounter each other. The connection they share is unlike anything either has felt before. J.J. believes she is hallucinating when she sees the majestic dark-haired god sweep in to save her, and Wick is shaken to his core by the attraction he feels for J.J. For the first time in his life, he finds himself wanting to get close to a woman.

After J.J.’s rescue, the two retire to Wick’s mountain home, where J.J. recovers from physical injury while attempting to help Wick recover from his emotional ones. But neither is out of harm’s way yet. And when they find themselves in the center of a Dragonkind war, they are forced to make the ultimate choice between surrendering to their fears or each other’s love.

I have read the entire Dragonfury series and I liked this book the best of all, although the short story Fury of Fate was exceptional (one of the best short stories I've read in a very long time, regardless of genre). I think Fury of Desire is well written, has a good story line that keeps expanding and making me wish she would write more Dragonfury books. Please Ms. Callahan! I'm dying to know what happens with the Metallics and the Archguard... and what about Scotland? Keep in mind this is not a Pulitzer Prize winner I had to slog my way through so I could tell my friends I read it. (I hope the author doesn't find this comment to be a slur, it was not meant that way.) I slogged my way through a lot of books in college, now I prefer to enjoy what I read without pretense. But wow have I read some just awful writing thanks to my Prime membership and Kindle Unlimited- someone needs to vet this stuff!! Seriously makes me question the difficulty of getting published. The Dragonfury series on the other hand is a very good read. I was thrilled to find it.

Highly recommend you read the other three books first, in order. You could read this as a stand alone, she's good at dropping hints and explaining things that happened in the previous books. But I think you get more out of the book having read the series in order. The book is a modern, urban setting- refreshing given all of the medieval period dragon romances. I personally really enjoy the characters, I find the guys funny, bordering on hilarious, charming and very... manly. The women are all right but let's face it, I don't read PNR for the chicks. Although I do like JJ, her character is a bit underdeveloped (I bet the author knows we don't read these for the chicks either). She uses military-styled language and terms, the usage is spot on (never read a series before that actually used H&K or Sig). I think it adds to the flavor of the story and it's characters.

I liked the series so much I've read it multiple times (yep the whole thing) just hoping she'll write another one.

4.0 out of 5 stars The healing touch of 'Desire' for Wick and his also damaged mate
Reviewed in the United States on February 21, 2014

Fury of Desire turned out to be my favorite of the series so far. The emotionally damaged dragon shifter, Wick, starts out such a mess that he can barely feed - the trauma from a childhood of slavery and torture have left him unable to bear to be touched. All though he is incredibly antisocial, even with his Dragon brethren, he is fiercely loyal. And even though he sees himself as an irredeemable killer, he has hidden depths and an artist's soul. But it is his loyalty and honor, which make him feel that he has a debt to repay and to that end he is determined to rescue JJ, the sister to a mate of one of his comrades. JJ has her own scarred past and little does Wick release that fate has found him a kindred spirit, one he feels unworthy to claim - but one he cannot resist.

I always have an bit of an issue with this series due to the BDBspeak (black dagger brotherhood), so it takes me a bit to get past that and get into the story, but the vulnerability of these two damaged souls and JJ's willingness to go after what she wants despite her fears - and to get Wick to accept that even though he feels she deserves more than he can give than he should just try to be what she deserves - really made the story for me.

There are some interesting things going on in the background ARC (and some horrible ones too - the villains are just so black hat evil) and add in some male bonding moments from the rest of Wick's brother dragons to round things out and I am looking forward to the next book.

Ah, this one was much better than the previous books. The romance was sweeter with Wick’s (aka Zsadist from BDB) turn to find his mate and with Jamieson injured and in a cast, she wasn’t going to leave the lair for self-centred reasons and put everyone else in danger. (Myst and Tania in books 1 and 3).
Also, the theme of the series has taken an intriguing turn with the links to Prague, so much so that I couldn’t put the book down at times, I needed to see what happened next.
I still have issues with the series -why have the magic portal to keep the enemy out of the lair when they can go around the back and walk in the French doors?
Why take severely injured dragons and mates through the portal when they can go around the back?
What do the humans think when their buildings etc are trashed during a fight between cloaked dragons - are they all stupid?
Why don’t the dragons use mobile phones to communicate with their Metallics in Prague or anywhere else for that matter?
Too many unanswered questions.

This must be the most captivating book so far. All the previous books were captivating but this one had more action and the main couple was so much better.

JJ, Tania's sister is in the hospital after being brutally assaulted in prison. Wick, the most dangerous Nightfury wants to get her from there and prison, in retribution to Mac's helping his friend Venom. When getting her from the hospital, the Nightfuries, meet a new and intriguing character, dragonkin too, that is trying also to get JJ out of the hospital. From here the action is non-stop until the end of the book.

We also get to see a little more of what's going on at Prague; unfortunatelly, it was very little and that part ends with a cliffhanger that's killing me!

JJ and Wick are 2 very damaged people, they don't trust easily, but the attraction between them is so strong and irresistable making this the most sweet and perfect couple.

The prequel to set up this series did a fantastic job of introducing the main characters featured in the following four books. These are the sons of Hannah Waverly, Cade, Cash, Cole, and Clay, who will each have their own story. But this prequel starts sad, with Hannah's death, the reading of her will, and the responsibilities of her sons. The series is a paranormal shifter with steamy heat and power exchange.

Cade Waverly is with Delta Forces and only in town long enough for the funeral, and then he must leave on another mission—that is his life. He is the oldest of the sons. The Waverly sons have secrets—they are mountain lion shifters. While they can mate with a human, and their offspring would be full-blooded, his mate would not. Cade has known that Trey was his—but right now, it isn't the right time.

"He'd known Trey was his bonded spirit—the one to make him complete in each of his nine lives."

Teresa 'Trey' Mitchell has always had a thing for Cade, but he usually is away. After the funeral, she will invite him back to her place where they have a night of passion—and then he is gone.

Fast forward ten years and Cade is leaving the military and is ready to track down Trey, a Special Agent with the FBI. What a shock when he decides to shift and take a run off the Appalachian Trail and overhears a group of men and their intent for a female. Even crazier, it is Trey, and she isn't armed. He will rescue her and keep her safe until law enforcement arrives. Now, it is time for this big kitty to go after his girl.

The story is the beginning of Cade and Trey's relationship, where she will discover that he is a dominant man who means business. He respects her job and knows how impressive it is that she has climbed the ladder within the FBI, but she is his, and that comes first. He will find out where she will be—meets her and takes her back to his motel where they reconnect.

"If this was insanity, then, by all means, let crazy rule."

The story is full of action, adventure, mystery, suspense, passion, romance with a dominant man and a woman who loves him enough to acquiesce and submit. Now, it is time for them to start their life away from the rat race and back in Idaho. The following story will be more on Cade and Trey in Untamed.

"When my life is over, I want to know I spent it with you."

I really enjoyed both the characters as well as the overall storyline, just wish it flowed a bit easier. I have a feeling this prequel could've easily been added to the next book for an overall more enjoyable experience.

I loved this story. It was spicy and sexy and a little bit angsty. Cades mother had passed, he and his brothers inherited most of her holdings, the father the main stretch. He couldn’t sell it, only lease it. The brothers were not very happy with that. Just as things were heating up the father fell off his horse. What happened? You need to read the rest of the story, can’t wait to read the rest of this exciting series.

WHEW! 'Determined' is the first book in Delta James's "Ghost Cat Canyon" series and what an exhilarating storyline she has provided. She's painted a picture of the landscape that is the backdrop of the movie that plays out in my mind as I'm reading. Hannah Waverly, the mother of Cade, Cash, Cole, and Clay, has been murdered. We experience the set of events and know what happened but we're left with the mystery of who did it. Was it her abusive, soon-to-be ex-husband Cyrus or perhaps Lorna, the woman who was sent to them in hopes of finding a mate? We do meet Cade and Teresa, aka Trey. Cade, like the rest of his brothers, is a mountain lion shifter and Trey is his fated mate or soul bond. Even with Fate playing a hand sometimes there needs to be a second chance at things and these two have definitely proved that theory. With action, adventure, mystery, suspense, passion, domestic discipline, this was definitely a great way to begin a series. I'm hooked!!
