Final Thoughts

Sometimes it seems like time is just flying by. It’s not. What is flying by is our appreciation of time. The time our friends take to check in on us, or that our family takes to be with us. Here of late I’ve seen so many stories in the news of people dying young, and there are so many regrets.

Stop, take a minute and look around you. Take note of all that is happening around you. All of these things are happening because someone took time to make it happen. So if you have the opportunity to help someone else, do it. You don’t want to leave regrets behind when you go.

Rendan: Dragons of Preor Book 4

Violence is never the answer… unless you’re a Preor warrior.

Rendan sen Tarkan, Offense Master to the Preor Third Fleet, has found his human mate. She is small compared to him, but her curves, delicious scent, and sky blue eyes call out to his soul. He has waited for a female for over two centuries and he will fight—kill—any who dare attempt to take her. Even one of his own males.

One moment Carla was unemployed and the next she was on the Preor battleship, working as a nurse for human-Preor mates. Oh, and the next moment? That was when she found her sexy, alien pink-scaled mate. Then she watched the muscular dragon shifter get beat to hell. And then she was assigned a condo in Preor Tower on Earth. The person in the condo next door? That sexy, alien pink-scaled male.

Learning about the proud alien warrior isn’t trouble free, but it’s easier than almost dying. Yeah, almost. But the Preor who tried to end her life? Well, he doesn’t quit easily. She only hopes Rendan is there to save her when the alien tries to end her life once again.

Yep, Yep another phenomenal book, this lady knows how to lock her reader in and keep them until the very end. I so love this series, I hope it never end each one is just fantastic. There is always a villi an too. I definitely recommend this book, this series. #5Stars just isn't enough.

The Knowing…is kind of like all the knowledge of the Preor will be gifted to a mated couple (literally downloaded in there brain, they have no choice it automatically does it) Because the Knowing will let you know if you have a mate when you get close enough to her, it won’t be a matter of choosing. The Knowing will strike you whether you will it or not.

Carla Butler couldn't believe her luck, 1st she is fired from her nursing job and now she is Healer Carla Butler for the human mates of the Preor, it was a fantastic job and she was learning Preor medical equipment which was way superior than the human equipment. They brought in a warrior and Carla was watching everything when she saw his face, she became sick and dizzy. But then this huge warrior jumps off the table and stares at her before he starts fighting to get to her. Boy does she run.
Rendan sen Tarkan, Offense Master to the Preor Third Fleet is a Pink Dragon Shifter who is hurt yet the Knowing starts on him while he was barely conscious, the more he tried get to her the more the Warriors blocked his way.
When he was well Taulan and Kozav told him he scared her so bad she refuses to see him.
So now he is kor-ting his mate.
A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.

Wow, this dragon, Rendan, is the first in the series (so far of the books that I've read) of the heroes, that I had a few moments that I really didn't like him. To lie like he did while knowing it could effect their relationship. Poor Carla, it's a wonder she can forgive him as easily as she does. I sure wouldn't have. He sort of redeems himself in the end, but I gotta say, it wasn't good for a bit there in the story, I grumbled about what a jerk he was. Cheating & lies are pet peeves of mine, that I never like the heroes to do. The story flowed fairly smooth other than Rendan's lying issue, & was an enjoyable book. I do feel it's my least favorite in the series so far of the 4 I've read. I'm starting to wonder when these purist dragons or just bad dragons are going to stop being the main bad guy towards the human mates in each book. It's almost getting too predictable now, wondering which dragon is going to be the next bad guy while I'm reading. I'm hoping something changes so I won't loose interest in the series.

The chemistry between Carla and Rendan is off the charts. When a peor warrior finds his mate the binding process happens quickly. Rendan didn't make the best impression on Carla when they first met. Seeing a huge warrior taking on nine huge warriors like they were nothing doesn't inspire warm and fuzzy feelings. Rendan has to prove to Carla that they are meant to be together. But a secret that Rendan is hiding could destroy his happiness with Carla.
In this story Carla and Rendan bring out the best in each other. Carla was a shy mouse, all of that changed when she meets Rendan. She now sticks up for herself and won't back down from a fight. Rendan only had one thing in his life. The protection of his people. Carla brings out his gentle side, his protective streak. This is an excellent story.

Erin Tate has bought another smokin hot read. Rendan and Carla are an interesting mix, he is built to fight while she has an issue with anything military. Though timid in nature its fun to read how Carla stands her ground with her alpha mate. As with each book in this series, it releases I one click. Erin's characters are always unique and complex, each have their own set of issues that are dealt with when faced with their mate. Secrets can't be hidden and when the Knowing strikes so does a love story that sticks with the reader even when the last page has been turned.

Piece of Tail: Paranormal Dating Agency Book 13

A female Prowl Leader? Unthinkable. It’s what Becca Duran has dealt with since the sudden, tragic death of her brother. Now, the leopard council demands she mates an alpha, whether she loves him or not. Given no choice, Becca takes a chance on Gerri Wilder’s PDA. It should be simple. Get a match and move on. Except, it’s not. It’s hard (thick and hard) with large muscles and a panty-wetting smile.

Jaylon Ross has thirty days to find a mate to help solidify his pack or face the consequences of an unhappy council. Forcing his hand, he makes an appointment with Gerri for help, but stumbles into the answer to his prayers in the heart of Manhattan. A sexy, curvy, sarcastic feline he dreams of stroking and wants to hear purr.

The two collide and more than instant sparks ignite with an attraction neither can ignore. Of course, nothing is as easy as it seems. Becca’s past and Jaylon’s present throw a monkey wrench into what should be so simple. Now they fight to find a way to stay together. Oh, and alive

Piece of Tail is the thirteenth standalone novel in the Paranormal Dating Agency series by Milly Taiden. In this book Becca Durran is the Prowl Leader of a leap of leopard shifters who needs to find someone to marry. Jaylon Ross is the Alpha of a pack of wolf shifters and needs to find a mate. Both are told by their respective councils that it doesn't matter if they marry for love or not. So both turn to a dating agency to solve their problems.

I do like that Becca is a little chubby. Not overweight but at least not one of the many skinny protagonists you find in novels like this. I also like that Jaylon is more than accepting of something terrible that happened in her past. It was at that moment I thought of him as a really good guy and not merely a good romantic lead.

The book does a good job at showing the pair falling in love. It is both cute and more than a little erotic. I actually hated when the plot showed its ugly little head because I wouldn't have minded a book full of Becca and Jaylon being cute with each other.

The one problem I had was with the antagonist that shows up around half-way through the book. The Leopard Council changes their tune really quickly about an old ruling so something that should have been a bigger deal, isn't. But at least he lasts as a villain much longer than I thought he would.

I would recommend Piece of Tail for those who have body issues and want to find a fictional boyfriend to take away their problems.

Milly Taiden struck gold showcasing Geri Wilder's matchmaking talents! This time pairing a hot, sexy alpha wolf with an alpha leopard as his fated mate! But nothing is ever that easy when forgotten secrets from the past rise up to complicate things! As usual, once I pick up a book by this amazing author I have to keep snacks and drinks close by because I know I won't be putting it down until the conclusion! Perfectly formed characters set forth down attention grabbing storylines, I feel I just can't enough! Every story has left me smiling and happy! And by the way, that scene with Geri at the end? Totally keep hoping for a book on. That!

Becca and Jaylon both leaders of their Leap and pack were both informed that they must find mates. That's where Gerri comes in. Both had a list of characteristics that they wanted in a mate but Gerri gave them what they needed. In a seemingly accidental meeting both found their one true mate. But all we're not happy with their union. This book has a dirty talking Alpha who isn't afraid to take what's his and a fierce and fiesty heroine who was strong enough to let him. There is also violence, murder, mystery, betrayal, second chances, and more. Milly Taiden has done it again!! Read with caution. This series is highly addictive. Can't wait to read the next book!!!

This book was soooo good...It was a very emotional story that I could not put down... My heart broke for Becca so much loss and betrayal in her life that finding Jaylon seems to good to be true.....Jaylon makes a deal to find a mate in 30 days he contacts Gerri for help to satisfy his pack, never expecting to run into his mate on his own in the city or that she was also there to meet Gerri Wilder to appease her prime and find a mate... The sparks fly and nothing is simple for these two but they wont give up without a fight... I loved this book ...

Although it felt like we waited forever for book 6 (Forge's story), I was not disappointed. Forge is one of my favorite characters so I was thrilled to read his story. The connection between him and Hope was very fast and resembled a runaway locomotive--just like the prior couples. Both damaged people who needed someone to cling to and who would listen and understand.

This book not only gave us Forge's mate, but Exshaw finally arrived. I’ve been waiting for him since Hamersveld told Ivar how he got Fen in Fury of Desire (book 4). I'm looking forward to seeing this new little guy in action. I’m sure he’s going to be a pistol.

While we didn't have a lot of scenes that included Forge’s son, there was some interaction with Forge, Hope and G.M. I know other reviewers were upset about this, but I felt it was just the right amount.

I really enjoyed the scene in the garage, with Gage, Osgard, and Forge. Gage’s protectiveness of the young man was really endearing. I also really liked the interaction between Osgard and Forge.

Oh, and we got a few really good scenes with Daimler. I love this guy! He really showed his personality with Hope in this story.

I intrigued by the way Ivar was acting in this story. It reminded me of how he was in “Fury Of Fate.” His development character wise feels necessary to me. In the beginning of the series, he was totally evil and the primary antagonist for the Nightfuries. Now we have a much larger number of bad guys so it’s interesting to see him continue to be developed. Although I don’t think he can be 100% redeemed, I’m finding myself hating Rodin, Zidane, and the Archguard much more.

I’m looking forward to book 7. I hope the wait isn’t as long as between books 5 and 6.

I love all the books in this series. That being said I have waited for Forge's story. Ms. Callahan did not disappoint. Hope is a great match for Forge. She is strong and he needs a strong woman. All the Nightfury dragons are back, as well as Ivan and his pack. This book has lots of action, Ivan finally finds the cure for the superbug he released in the last book. I don't want to give too much away so here goes. Hope is a psychologist who works with victims who have been hurt. She is approached by Mac and Angela to help Forge unlock his past. Forge and Hope's first meeting is great. While trying to get together, Hope's fighting being with a patient, her doubting her work ethics, there is the problem with Mac. This is my new favorite in the series...at least until the next one. I have told my friends they have to read this. It is so wonderful. If you like shap-shifters or dragon stories it is well worth the money and it will leave you wanting more.

Coreene has done it again. Fury of Surrender is an amazing chapter in the Dragonfury series. This time we get to learn about Forge, our favorites Scottish Nightfury and ooooooooo boy does he not disappoint. Your heart aches for the struggles he is working through and you can't help but root for him.

The female lead, Hope, is wonderful and next to Angela and JJ, she's become one of my favorites. Her spine is wonderful and you're cheering for her the whole time. You can't help but get wrapped up in her background as well too.

And a side note.... There is a lot of emotion and feelings wrapped around Ivar and once again Coreene has me wanting and cheering for him more and more.

The book, as all her previous ones do, sucks you in and has you getting lost in the story and wishing that you were in Seattle and could find a dragon of your own.

I started with the first book in the series, and within the first chapter I was hooked. I have since read every book in the series. I love action books combined with romance and this book delivered. Be aware that the sex scenes tend to be a little graphic. But, this book is not constant sex, unlike some I've come across. There is a storyline and character development. I thought the author did a good job of balancing between romance and action. I have also read a couple of her other books in a different series, also excellent. Plus, unlike some other books, this didn't require any editing. I could just read the story, rather than blunder along with misspellings, punctuation, and grammar.

Touch of Fate: Fated Legacy Book 1

Touch of Fate bridges the gap between Jean-Michel and Darby’s love story chronicled in the Wayward Mates and Tangled Vines series and the new Fated Legacy series set to begin on September 23, 2021, with the release of Touch of Darkness.

Part One is set in 2028 on the tenth anniversary of Jean-Michel and Darby’s bonding. Part Two is set in 2038, on their twentieth anniversary. And Part three is set in 2048 on Jean-Michel’s 50th Birthday.

Throughout the novella, readers will get to catch up with a lot of their favorite couples and be introduced to the next generation who will populate the novels of the Fated Legacy series.

Hang on to your hat!Reviewed in the United States on August 23, 2021Verified PurchaseFirst things first, if you don’t remember all the couples and packs from Wayward Mates and Tangled Vines, you might want to pause a moment. All the couples AND their family are in this series.
This story focuses on the New Orleans Pack. Both the current generation and the next are highlighted. The laughter and the tears will flow as you immerse yourself in the love to be found between Darby and Jean-Michael!

They say I died… they are wrong

Once more a malevolent presence threatens wolfen society. They say my love story with my fated mate, Darby, ended with my death, but they were wrong. They say my eldest son, Jean-Edouard, is nothing at all like me, they are wrong about that as well. They say a lot of things, but I will prove them wrong.

This prequel to the Fated Legacy Series is a bridge between Jean-Michel and Darby's and friends' stories and their children. Jean-Michel and Darby's love story is one for the ages, and their chemistry is still off the charts hot. In 2028, they have been mated 10 years with three children, and are still very much in love. In 2038, their 20th anniversary year, their love is renewed, and they have added two more sons. In 2048, Jean-Michel is 50, and his son Jean-Edouard is poised to take over the pack of New Orleans, and is ready to claim his fated mate.

Normally Delta James books, fated mate and corked series have me shaking my head, some I skip much off. But nonetheless I’m vested in her characters which are all amazing. Sometimes she gets carried away with the whole alpha male thing and it is a bit abusive and completely unrealistic but I must say this new series so far is the BEST! Ok I cried my ass off Darby and Jean Michael have always been one of her best couples and to think off them not dieing at the same time during a knot they fall asleep together to is heart wrenching. Thank god Delta had other ideas. This story is of their family and friends it’s definitely worth the read and I’m excited for the next, Little Skylar and Dax story.

Getting to see characters that I've fallen in love with from her "Wayward Mates" and "Tangled Vines" series was phenomenal! There are three distinct parts to this book all with ten years between so we're seeing the different stages of Jean-Michele Gautier and Darby's relationship and how all these friends tie into their love of family. I laughed. I cried. I got butterflies in my stomach. I was thrilled. I can't wait for more of this one.

This is the first book in the Fated Legacy Series and as always with all of Delta James books I am always excited to read the start of a new series and this was no different. It started with the wonderful celebration of the tenth anniversary of Jean-Michel Gautier and his Fated mate Darby becoming Fated Mates. Along with their three children and their friends and pack as they all come together to celebrate and wish their friends and Alpha and Mistress the very best.
It was wonderful to reconnect with characters in her past books the women and now mates from Bae Dogal and their Alphas and their children who are already starting to make their way in their packs, the males are as dominant as their fathers and daughters are as stubborn and opinionated as their mothers and all would die to protect their pack and anyone in need of help.
I do not want to give away too much about this book but I will say that I am not ashamed to say that I shed a tear at one point and I am sure other readers will do the same, after reading these books since the very beginning you feel an affinity for the characters almost as though they are friends you have come to know and regard fondly.
I cannot wait for the next book in this two part series, I have loved reading about the children of the past alphas and their mates as they begin to make their own way in life, taking over the responsibility for their own packs and its members.
I truly wonderful read.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.

MacAllen Clan: She Thinks My Dragon’s Sexy (Dragon Guard #35)

Fate Will Not be Denied, but if you happen to be a Gambler, the safe bets always on a Dragon and his Mate.

Sure, it was hotter than hell and drier than a popcorn fart, but it was home. Not just a place on the map, but in her heart where it really mattered.

Coming back to West Texas for Elle Burntwing was a mixed bag of tricks. Sure, it was where she’d grown up, where she’d had her first beer, her first kiss, ridden her first horse, and raised all kinds of hell…but it was also where her family had tragically and with no explanation been taken from her.

Stepping back on the sandy soil of home, the plan was simple (1) get her client outta hot water, (2) find the person responsible for her family’s murder, and keep herself from falling in love with a Dragon. No worries, right?

Family meant everything. It was all he’d ever known, and as the oldest son of an oldest son and a Guardsman, Gage took his job as Protector very seriously, even though his four younger brothers knew every one of his buttons to push and laughed as they did it.

Seeing her walking into the Courthouse changed everything. With her in his arms, he saw forever. All he had to do was slay a centuries old flying menace and convince the One the Universe made for him that he wasn’t an arrogant, know-it-all Dragon, but instead, her One and Only Mate. Piece of cake, right?

With more on the line than his love life and the scales covering his backside, Gage MacAllen is about to learn the true meaning of ‘Destiny will always find a way’.

Can he thaw out in time to join the battle?

Will she save the day without him?

Will the Fanatical Feathered Freak finally be brought to justice?

And…who in all that’s holy is the Dragon trapped in the ice?

Only the Great Creator and the Universe know the answers, and as usual, neither one is talking. So, Take a load off, Grab a cold one, and Get ready for one Helluva story.

Final Thoughts

I don’t want to go on a rant this week so I’ll keep it short. If the current Covid cases statistics aren’t scaring the heck out of you, where have you been hiding? I’m starting to see stories about young couples dying and leaving behind their children. That bothers me.

One recent story that was mentioned involved a couple with 5 children dying within a few weeks of each other. This was in California. The oldest child was only 7, the youngest? The youngest is a newborn who had to be delivered by emergency C-section after the mother was intubated. Neither parent got to meet their youngest child, let alone name him/her.

Neither parent was vaccinated despite the mother, a nurse, having worked with patients since the start of the pandemic. That bothers me greatly.

So please, if you aren’t vaccinated, what’s holding you back? If you have children, is it worth losing them to refuse to be vaccinated? Please, please, think about them!

Kozav (Dragons of Preor Book 3)

Kozav found his mate and then he lost her. Now it’s time to hunt…

Grace Hall is a nurse, not a doctor. But when five Preor warriors are brought to the emergency room and the doctors won’t touch the aliens, she steps forward. One warrior draws her more than the others. His teal wings, muscular body, and pain-glazed eyes have her torn between two desires — needing his touch and desperation to heal him. She’s going to save the Preor males, even if it kills her. When she loses consciousness after healing them, she realizes it just might.

Kozav sen Aghin, Primary Warrior of the Preor Third Fleet, wakes on the Preor battleship fully healed yet plagued by a feeling that something is wrong. And something is… Kozav’s mate was left behind on Earth—alone and unprotected. Unacceptable. Kozav’s guilt for his actions in the past still plague him and he is determined not to fail again. The curvaceous, green-eyed, dark haired human female is his to protect, his to claim and his to keep.

When someone attempts to murder Grace, Kozav is prepared to do whatever it takes to keep her safe. Even if it means killing one of his own. Or will it be Kozav with a sword through his chest?

Kozav is a Primary Warrior who has had devastating loss, his entire family is gone. Grace is working 2 jobs one of them being as a nurse in a hospital that has just admitted 5 Preor Warriors. The Knowing hits Grace as she is working on one of the Warriors which helps her to save several Warriors. Kozav is a handsome dragon shifter warrior and is looking for his mate, unfortunately there are other Preor warriors who think mating with a human female is a bad thing. They would rather see their race die out than to have human DNA infect the purity of the Preor bloodline. This series is one of the best I have read and I have enjoyed all three of the books that Ms. Tate has brought out. My only problem is that Erin Tate cannot seem to write fast enough. The story line is very good and the characters are well rounded there was also a twist with Grace's Mom, but I am not gonna tell you any more about that. Get these 3 stories and read them yourselves, all three are standalone books, no cliff hangers, and it doesn't really matter in what order you read these. Book 1 in the series is Jarek, Book 2 is Taulan and of course Book 3 is Kozav. Since I rarely get ARC's I can always leave a review that shows my honest like or dislike of a story or series, this is definitely a keeper!

Just another one from this Lady, picking up this book I just knew it was going to be good so far every book has been good everything. What's different is the environment and then the knowing You Gotta it. I think everybody else would love the series, as I said before the book can be stand alone.

Grace Hall is the head nurse, working as much as she could. Trying very hard to make sure her mother has everything, it could be years she suffers from the pollution is a certain disease that's not curable and so Grace does everything she can, she has two jobs, all the money she can earn so that she could have her mother live better. When Grace just came on duty they had brought in five Preor warriors but the doctors refused to help them but Grace and her nurses did. After Grace was almost done the KNOWING hit.1
Kozav sen Aghin, Primary Warrior of the Preor Third Fleet, was hurt so bad he would of died. But once he was on board his spaceship, he realizes some how the Knowing started up on him. Which meant one thing his mate is in danger if he doesn't find her fast she was
alone and unprotected. Many Warriors did not like Earth women they called them breeders this caused quite a stir in the spaceship, these traitors must be caught and dealt with.

I have been following Celia Kyle / Erin Tate for quite some time and absolutely adore her books. They are awesome !!! Her stories are full of humour, the right mix of action, Scify at its very core, has a raw physical and emotional connection between her characters and sheer sex appeal that permeates from the every page. In fact, her stories jump right out and draw you in, so much so that there is sadness when you reach the final page, because you know that for now it has come to an end. I am always left eager for her next book to release. She amazes me with her creative talent and ability to create a world of wonder, hot alpha males and the women that tame them. When I first began her Ujal series, I knew she had a winner and didn't think she could top it, I am glad to say how very wrong I was. Her Preor series not only matches it in every way but rather excels past it. Kozav, for me, is the pick of the bunch and I cannot wait to see what next she has in store for us.

Grace was the only nurse brave enough to care for five peor warriors. It's during this treatment that Kozav discovers that his mate is Grace. No peor warrior leaves his mate unprotected and returns to earth to retrieve her. Kozav has a lot to learn about earth women. The first thing he learns is that earth women are not compliant. If they think you are doing something wrong they will get in your face and set you straight. The Romance between them doesn't run smoothly. Peor males have no sense of humor. Earth slang is completely strange to them. They take everything at face value. Kozav and Grace have to deal with a crew member that doesn't approve of their union. It doesn't matter if you're human, peor or even a vegetable, racism is universal. When Grace is taken, Kozav will show them that taking his mate was a very bad thing to do. It's downright dangerous.

The Reviews!

I struggled with this one. Neither MC was noteworthy or particularly memorable. And that’s really a shame. I have enjoyed all the previous books in this series, but now find myself wondering about the ones that I haven’t yet read. I don’t like giving negative reviews, but there isn’t much I can say on a positive note.

What is happening to Milly Taiden? As I stated in my last review of her work, if you had asked me seven months ago about anything written by this author I would have said to you that she is a consistent powerhouse. I would have enthusiastically declared her to be the queen of all things paranormally romantic and sexy. I would have further stated that her stories almost never disappoint, are wildly free and unapologetically alpha filled, full of beautiful story landscapes, with her Paranormal Dating Agency (PDA) books at the top of this wonder! However, recently her books have been devoid of the emotionally intelligent, emotionally rich, witty and quirky, action packed adventures I have come to love and expect from her. And sadly this one “Throw in the Growl”, the latest addition to her PDA universe is no exception to this new and disappointing rule.

After reading her earlier sci-fi themed PDA installments of yummy Galaxa Warriors and grumbly, angst filled alpha hotties from planet Aurora, I was excited for a new interplanetary adventure. Instead what I found was, in all honesty, downright horrible. As here within the story of King Rath of the Salusain Kingdom upon the planet Corona Haize, and Anna, a sarcastic, quip filled stand-up comedian looking for a way to revive her career after a misstep on stage turns her into a comedic pariah. A situation her manager Clint hopes to rectify via a unique proposal. A plan that has her utilizing the services of Gerri Wilder, flying off to a new far away world, and dating an alien (and perhaps falling in love) all for the sake of material for her show. Is a tale full of tired and overused stereotypes reminiscent of outdated Gomer Pyle gags and not a Taiden book.

So disappointing was this installment to me that I am not even going to include the normal story synopsis I typically include within my reviews. As the characters contained are so confusing and cringe worthy I have to wonder if this installment was written by a ghost writer. A thought I have had for the last few books published under this author’s name.

Worse yet, this was another installment filled to bursting with typos and sentence structure issues. And what is with the capital A’s in the middle of words throughout? There were so many of them I was left thinking they were intentional, and if so, if this was perhaps some odd way of incorporating, Anna-isms, throughout to drive home the fact she is a comedian. Well if so, it missed big time and was more distracting than endearing. And on the reverse side of this typeset coin, if these actually were mistakes, well then holy hell why was it published in such a state?!?

After this installment I am not sure what to think? I normally love books by this author, but this book bordered on offensive with its typecast “loveable dunce” and was just plain silly. A far cry from the normally sexy and more sophisticated tales I have enjoyed from her in the past. In the end this one is a hard, hard pass for me and astonishingly almost ended up in my DNF file, something that has never before happened with one of Taiden’s books.

Rath and Anna are thrown together by the force that is Gerri Wilder.
But for very different purposes.

Anna is a comedienne.
Anna needs to revamp her career.
Anna sees this as an opportunity to gather new material.

Rath is an impetuous and impulsive ruler.
Rath acts before he thinks.
Rath wants to be taken serious as a leader.

When the two meet Sparks fly but not romantically, more like verbally.
There's definitely a culture clash, somewhat of a language barrier, but luckily Rath has his own translator.

There were some funny moments in this books, but not really enough to make me like it. I found both of the MCs to be just ridiculous. Rath constantly acted without thinking, acceptable for a teenage MC but not for someone who is a King and trying to impress his potential mate. Honestly I had trouble thinking of him as an actual adult most of the time. Anna is a comedian looking to reboot her career. But I found her rather bland as a character. Even the moments of "drama" were either really over the top or resolved way too quickly. I never felt the "love" between these two. There was lust at times, but even then it seemed like they just acted without thinking of consequences.

The Dragonfury books are one of my favorites. I have loved Venom from the first book. I was really looking forward to his story. While the overall story was good, there just wasn't much of Venom and Evie.
Evelyn has fallen on hard times, she's lost her job, and her mother died recently leaving her to handle the huge gambling debt she owes the Russian mob. She finds herself in a dire situation with, in her mind, only one option left. Sell the only thing she has left to sell, herself.
Venom is a rarity among Dragonkind, a venomous dragon. A very powerful one. He has toxins running through his veins. Any prolonged contact with his skin could kill. He has never been able to spend more than an hour at a time with any female. He's lonely. Now with his best friend mated, he's not only lonely, but bored. That's when he finds himself breaking protocol and heading out without backup, looking for a little female attention. Which is how he ends up meeting Evie. She is a very High Energy female. Very desirable among his kind. And there is instant attraction. One touch and Venom knows she is strong enough to handle his touch. He also knows he's found his mate. But he's determined not to do what his pack mates have done when they find their mates. Kidnapping is not in his plan, he wants to woo her, date her, and introduce her to his world slowly. Things don't go quite as planned, he lets her go, and she finds herself face to face with his enemy. And then he kidnaps her.
This was a good story, but it had a different feel than the earlier books. It seems the farther we get into the major story arc, the war between the Nightfuries and the Razorbacks, the romance seems to drop off the page and we get more of an urban fantasy type story. Venom and Evie meet early in the book, but they don't get together until almost half way through the book. There are lots of subplots going on at once. The metallics, Haider and Gage, dealing with their escape, Ivar and his plotting and dealing with his "superbug", Bastian dealing with everything. I missed the females, the other mates, in this book. Daimler does make a brief appearance but I missed the "family feel" of them being at Black Diamond.
It felt like juggling with too many balls in the air at the same time.
I definitely wouldn't recommend starting with this book. There is too much back story missing. Go back and read the earlier books, get the whole story. It's worth it. I will keep reading the series, I just hope they get back to what drew me to the series in the first place, the romance.

My review .....
I'm going to try to give this a biased review, but be warned .... I LOVE THIS SERIES 😁
So .......
Oh my word !!! Wick is my favourite warrior, but Venom is now a close second.
These warriors are half human, half dragon. Turning into a plethora of different types, fire breathing, lava exploding, and snow blowing ones.
But Venom is special, his forte is toxins. Nothing effects him, but the downside, he can't stay close to a female for too long, only long enough to gain energy, (dragons are only male, they gain energy to survive by tapping into a female energy, using sex)
He has watched from the sidelines as each of his brothers in arms finds his female, they fall in love, bond and live happily ever after, even his best friend Wick, (who hated to take energy from the females) finds a female all of his very own.
Venom is now feeling a little left out, lonely and jealous.
After being taken out of rotation,( not all dragons are good, we have Ivar and his band of dragons) Venom defies his leader and sneaks out, he wants company, the female variety.
Evelyn Foxe is desperate for money, her mother left her with huge gambling debts, and now the Russian mob want it back. And after losing her job, Evelyn is flat broke. She sees her only way out is to sell her soul and body to make the next monthly payment.
The meeting between Venom and Evelyn is explosive, from almost the first moment Venom meets this mysterious lady he is hooked, and once he finds out she is his mate !! Then all bets are off, we are talking alpha male to the max, he wants to know all about Evelyn and how she came to be in the hotel.
There are a few other stories going on, but nothing to distract from the chemistry and the love building between the two main characters.
I've loved this series from the beginning, and I'm hoping Coreene has many more books for us to explore.

This is the fifth book in the Dragon Fury series. I absolutely loved it!

First off, I would like to say that I love the cover! Venom's eyes! *Sigh!*

I downloaded this book in both Kindle and audiobook format, as I have the other books in the series in this way too. This gives me the opportunity to either read or listen to the story, depending on my mood. The audio book is narrated by Cole Ferguson, who does a wonderful job in bringing the characters to life. I must admit I was a little disappointed that Benjamin L. Darcie was no longer narrating the books, but Cole Ferguson's voice sounded just as sexy, so all in all, I wasn't disappointed for long!

Venom is a fantastic character. I have enjoyed getting to know this particular dragon. He has a multitude of layers that get peeled back and revealed as the story progresses. This made me even more intrigued with him, as he has a few secrets that I never would have guessed, and a vulnerability that surprised me, as he struck me as a very confident man who is not afraid of much. That is, until he meets Evelyn Foxe.

Evelyn (Evie) Foxe is also a wonderful character. I liked her very much. She is normally an emotionally strong woman, who usually knows what she wants and goes for it, but now she's desperate. She is a forensic accountant, who has had the rug pulled out from under her feet and is struggling to find a job, and keep a Russian mobster off her back. Can Venom be her ticket out of the situation she finds herself in? Or will she be in more danger?

I have been eagerly waiting for the release of this book for some time. It was well worth the wait! I started to listen to the story and was quickly hooked. I have become totally addicted to this series! The story, in a way, continues on from Fury of Desire. There is a definite story arc beginning to appear and gather pace, as this story is told through several points of view and not just Venom's and Evie's.

All of the dragons from the Night Fury pack are worried about Gage and Hadar, who have gone missing in Prague. These two dragons have not featured much in the story up until now, but as the story arc opens up and the reader gets to see what is happening in Prague, they suddenly become extremely important. There's some seriously sick things happening in that part of the world, and Gage and Hadar find themselves in serious danger. I know it sounds a bit strange, but I really enjoyed their story, even though it's not very nice. There is lots of violence and danger, but these two are a force to be reckoned with. I must admit that Nian is not too shabby himself!
Back in Seattle, Ivar is waiting for results on his experiment, but even he is shocked at the results. Venom and Evie's romance is fraught with excitement and danger. However, I felt their story, although integral to the plot, got a little sidelined due to the larger story arc. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but if you compare the first story to this one, they have less page time together than Bastian and Myst. But, it makes a nice change to have an interracial coupling. I haven't read many books where this occurs, and it brings a different dimension to the story. It also makes me wonder about Sloan's story. Will we ever get to read it one day? I hope so. I reached the end of the story and though it doesn't end on a cliffhanger, it made me look forward to reading/listening to the next book in the series as soon as possible. I just hope I don't have to wait as long for it though!

Coreene Callahan has written another fantastic paranormal romance. She is fast becoming one of my favourite authors to read. Her books are fast paced, exciting and extremely addictive! I love her writing style and the flow is absolutely wonderful!

Due to the use of bad language and the explicit sexual scenes, I do not recommend this book for younger readers. However, I highly recommend this book if you love erotic paranormal romances or books with sexy dragon shifters! - Lynn Worton
