Delta James' newest series is heavy on the mystery, sex, and as usual, arrogant, demanding alpha males. Both Untamed and Determined end on cliffhangers, so if you are not a fan, you might want to wait until the entire series is complete. Overall, I enjoyed this story. Cade isn't as arrogantly demanding as many of James' other males leads, but he often does take choices away from Trey. While he "allows" her to continue her career, he is overly protective and doesn't always treat her like the capable woman she is. I do wish Trey would have stood up to Cade more often, but like most of the female characters that James' writes, she is too often overcome with lust.

A really good and interesting story overall, but ridiculous with the amount of sex scenes (I started skimming over them after the 4th - 5th one). Example - Trey encounters a life and death situation while finding out about Cade's true nature, and they immediately have wild sex out on the mesa! Really??? A lead investigator/Former FBI agent would NOT act this way! A bit more realism in reference to relationships would be great! Especially a character finding out her man is an animal shifter!

This is the first book in a new series called Ghost Cat Canyon. It's a fast-paced and continuation from the prequel, Determined, that will keep you engaged from start to finish. Warning: this book does end on a cliffhanger! There's action, adventure, drama, danger, suspense, twist/turns, enemies, survival, intrigue, humor, mystery/secrets, surprises, family, friends/friendships, anger, fear, pain, conflict, resolution, confusion, confidence, strength, courage, stubbornness, struggles, tension, arrogance, doubts, turmoil (emotional), murder, complications, death, evil, violence, confrontations, jealousy, contentment, possessiveness, acceptance, protection, frustration, determination, happiness, romance, passion/lust and love.
In this part of the story, the h and H are investigating several murders, including the murder of the H father and also the death of his mother ten years ago.

Cade and Trey are my new sizzling power couple! Both are strong in their own right, but together they are explosive. The back story is exciting and suspenseful, and I can’t wait to see where the author takes us. My favorite series are those where each book is complete as far as the main characters are concerned but the overarching story leaves questions that need to be answered in subsequent releases (love me some suspense and intrigue). But what makes this author special is that we, as readers, are compelled to continue not just for the storyline but to see what happens in the lives of favorite supporting characters. I thought her alpha wolves were hot, but her mountain lions have prowled their way and sunk their barbs into my imagination. Fabulous start to what promises to be a fantastic series.

Fast paced story, no filler. Excellent characters. You can tell the two main characters had a past and have moved past it, well, sort of. The sex is hot, explicit and definitely D / s. There is a lot of spanking but it is the erotic kind and very well done. The story is excellent, you won't find out who the murderer is or the reason for the murder in this book but it does set an excellent stage with many twists and turns.
