DSI Michael Holmes is one of three individuals in London that started out as characters in author Sage Mathew’s book series. A year or so ago, for reasons yet unknow, Felix and Michael found themselves crossing over to our world, followed a short time later by Roark. Roark has since married and collared his creator, Sage.
Michael still isn’t sure why he was able to cross over, but he is biding his time until he gets an answer. In the meantime, he takes the time to play at Baker Street, the BDSM club in London.
Dr. Rachel Moriarty makes her living by leading small groups on customized tours of London. That’s how she met Sage, Roark, and Michael.
Now she has reached out to Scotland Yard and is referred to Holmes. Maybe the young officer sent her to him as a joke, but her problem is no joking matter. Her last tour was of Jack the Ripper’s victims home. As they left the room of his last known victim, something strange happened. Something evil..
Just remember, Jack the Ripper was never found….

I love the fun the author is having with the characters and the echoes of Sherlock Holmes. The mystery just keeps drawing me in deeper. I don’t remember who owns “Baker Street” but I enjoy the way it keeps popping up.

Rachel Moriarty is a transplant to London, running a specialty tour group business...but on her last visit to the infamous Mary Kelly house, the last of the victims of Jack the Ripper, she encountered something strange and has been seeing an apparition since...so she takes her case to Scotland Yard, meeting DSI Michael Holmes. Michael is friend of Roark the famous detective and Felix, the concierge of the Savoy...none of whom existed before the writing imagination of Sage Matthews...they went through the veil, becoming real people instead of characters in a novel...and Holmes is convinced that whatever Rachel is seeing is real, as now there is broken obsidian mirror which Ripper used to escape whatever curse held him in the mirror since the late 1800's...but you will need to read this spooky but tantalizing story to see what happens...I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This book was seriously entertaining and right up there with
one of the most quirky paranormal romance book that I have
ever read. I should not have been surprised that this talented
author could send me into a spin, but she did just that and so
much more. The story was rich with imagery, complexity, and
imagination. I suggest reading book one to familiarize yourself
with the characters and their backgrounds. This is not a long
read, but it was truly entertaining and needed all my attention
to get on top of the storyline. Once I had this under control, it
was smooth sailing.
Dr Rachel Moriarty was a discrased professor now living and
working in London. She gives small private tours in the seedier
parts of London. When Rachel finds a powerful evil force trying
to harm her she is so unserved that she recruit Detective Michael
Holmes from Scotland yard to protect and solve the mystery.
Michael's attraction to Rachel was immediate. She awakened the
sleeping Dom. He realized that Rachel was deeply submissive, but
oh how she struggled. He would do anything in his power to protect
her including enlisting the help of his friends Roark and Sage. Here
is were you need to believe that a veil can exist between two worlds
and try and make sense between the unexplainable where the past
and present connect causing an electrifying conclusion.
I felt that the secondary characters played an intrinsic part and added
depth to this story. Loved the concept with it's a constant build-up and
plot development. Except the unexpected.

Michael Holmes is a Scotland Yard Detective. Rachel Moriarty is an owner of a tour company, and when she is dealing with a malicious spirit haunting her, she reaches out for help, and Holmes steps up. It is love at first sight for him, and she is soon on board. Roark Samuels and other characters from Advance help, along with her college roommate, but you will have to read the book to find out more.
The cover got my attention. The first paragraph drew me in. This book is incredible. I'm a big fan of Delta James, and have read most of her books. Beautifully written, this is my favorite. The Hero is over the top, but that is exactly as he should be. Rachel is feisty, and perfect for him. If I could give this book six stars, I would. It is that good.
