'Alliance' is the first book in Delta James' "Syndicate Masters: Northern Lights" series. It picks up right where book four, "The Understanding" in her "Syndicate Masters" series left off. So if you thought the original series was exciting and wanted to know what happened after the bonding ceremony, then be prepared because the underlying plot that carries through brings excitement and anticipation that does not disappoint! The joining of Gunner and Marley sealed the alliance between the Tiamat Syndicate and the Blood Eagle Syndicate. Made by both fathers when the Tiamat Syndicate needed physical and financial aid, Joshua, the eldest son and now leader has given Marley a reprieve by not enforcing it since both fathers have passed. But when the Tiamat Syndicate needs that alliance again in order to stand against an attack by the Bratva, Joshua has no alternative but to honor the original alliance and hand Marley over to Gunner. Marley, on the other hand, has been coddled, spoiled, and let them have her freedom and independence. As a matter of fact, she's a world-renowned deep-sea diver. She has no intention of being subservient to any man even if Gunner thinks they are fated, mates. It was fascinating to watch both characters grow into their own as an epiphany after epiphany came to mind. But regardless of how much their minds argue and fight there's no denying the chemistry of a fated mate and it's evident within these pages. And when Marley finally receives a new nickname from Gunnar it absolutely melts my heart.

Alliance is an amazing book!! It grabs your interest from the beginning and doesn't let go!!! Several times I found myself holding breath wondering OMG what had she gotten into!! The Mafioso Alpha Persona and Energy, the definite push & pull, plots, the unforseen 😯, the betrayals, the loyalties, the action & the ending ??
ALL THERE & ON DECK💯.

The Author also layered in some sensuality ( another wise choice ).

It skimmed off a "few" edges of it, IMHO.

Delta James PNR DARK GENRE is very INTENSE.
