The story starts in Kunar Province, Afghanistan, with Chelsea Mason there doing an investigation for the UN. She will be captured and held prisoner but not rescued by the USA. Instead, she is rescued by JJ and taken to Baker Street in London. There she will meet up with Master Adam Wheldon, who decides to dictate to Chelsea what she may and may not do. What a surprise to her when he comes into her room and things heat up.
The story will move quickly with years going by to the present day, where Chelsea and Adam are guests at Red Hills Resort in Colorado. For Adam, it is a working trip, but it will also be a celebration of their tenth anniversary. As with all of Deltaās books, there is plenty of erotic chemistry, passion, and explicit scenes.

OMG! 'Sea Dog' is the sixth book in Delta James' "Mercenary Masters" series and this one just left me with a feeling of giddiness in the pit of my stomach! Although this book can be read as a standalone, it's so much better if you've read the previous releases, then you'd be like those of us who have been trying to wait patiently for Sully and Nina's story, and man, was it worth the wait? You betcha. Suffice it to say, it took Nina breaking the agreement with Interpol and for Fitz to tell Sully he needed to "Get the girl in your bed, dominate the brat, and Iāll arrange it so she can live hereā¦ with you.ā āWhy would I do that? I have never given any indicationā¦ā his voice trailed off as Fitzwallace rolled his eyes. āAre you still telling yourself that? The story is a spin-off from the Masters of the Savoy series, where some of the characters have had cameo roles, like Nina Oletta, an international forger and hacker for hire, and Fitzwallace and JJ from Baker Street BDSM club and the Cerberus Group.
Nina Oletta was rescued by the Cerberus Group, who negotiated a deal with Interpol that kept her out of jail. But this part of being a good girl, keeping her nose clean, and being legit wasnāt working out for her.
āNo, she had one more lucrative score, and then she would go underground, reinvent herself and go back to doing what she did bestācreating beautiful new identities, including electronic histories to go with them. She is scheduled to meet a Bratva member who has had plastic surgery, left his family behind, and brought his young mistress. But her plans arenāt as secretive as she suspects, and Fitzwallace will send Sully trying to stop the chain of events.
The story is a fabulous prequel to start this new series. I liked how Sully one-ups Nina and makes arrangements for better accommodations to keep her in his sights. His goal is to wine, dine, and bed her, to keep her safeāeven from herself. What was to be a night of self-discovery in BDSM ends before it even begins. Nina will find herself in life and death danger, and her white knight will rescue herābut there is a price to pay. It will include dominance and submission, consensual punishment, and ends with pleasure.

This is the fifth book in the 'Mercenary Masters Series' and Delta did another amazing job. Her ability to tell a story and peak your interest from the first pages is extraordinary. This book is no exception, it starts with us first meeting Mak and Wyatt in a war zone. Mak had played a prank on Wyatt and his bunk mates and then later that evening they find themselves at the same bar. Wyatt observes Mak hustling some fellow service men in darts. He knows these guys are arrogant asses with bad attitudes riding their daddy's shirt tails through their enlistments. As Mak takes them for the grand hustle of the evening, Wyatt warns her to be careful with her windfall and have somebody walk her out. Mak being the independent woman that she is, leaves on her own. Wyatt barely saves her from being gang raped. Wyatt decides to give Mak a lesson in safety using dominance and spankings to drive his point home. This is Mak's first experience in being dominated and realizes that she is extremely comfortable and aroused being a sub for Wyatt. They spend the night together and Wyatt must leave early in the morning for his deployment. He knows that he has feelings for Mak, so he leaves her a note wishing her well.
Fast forward seven years and Mak is back in the Middle East as an explosive expert. She finds that her way of releasing stress is to frequent BDSM clubs. She is now an alpha sub who enjoys an occasional whipping or spanking from a Dom but never participates in any type of intimacy or after care. While she is Sayeed's captive, Cerberus Group hears of other women being held as slaves by Sayeed and initiates a rescue mission not knowing that Mak is being held at the same location. Wyatt is now the pilot for the Cerberus Group and plays an important part in the successful rescue mission. While the rescue is taking place, Mak finds the opportunity to free herself and is successful in her escape into freedom. She is now on a mission of revenge to take down anyone and everyone that had anything to do with her kidnapping. Cerberus Group hears of Mak's escape and feels somewhat responsible for not helping her. What happens next has Wyatt and Mak back together where old feelings resurface and trouble is knocking.
I thought the plot was interesting and exciting. The characters were well written with depth and thought. The writing kept me on edge and I thought the book to be an amazing read. I wonder if this is the last of the series or if maybe Sully gets his chance at love??? I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely was blown away by this book and feel it is the best of the 'Mercenary Masters' series. This is Sawyer and Rhiannon's story. When we first meet them they are on a mission for the Cerberus Group. Sawyer gets upset with an action taken by Rhiannon and administers his form of discipline. One thing leads to another and we soon have a dom/sub relationship with respect and love. Fast forward, on a new assignment something goes terribly wrong and Rhiannon is reluctantly left behind while the rest of the team escapes to safety. While in captivity, Rhiannon is tortured both mentally and physically. Restrains and whips are used as well as her being sexually assaulted. No one writes a villain as well as Ms. James and you can't help but hate Baddad Sayeed and his team of terroist. Rhiannon is rescued by the Cerberus Group right before being raped and is taken immediately to the hospital. During her hospital stay, Rhiannon is kept sedated so that her wounds are able to heal properly. No one is allowed to visit, giving Rhiannon too much time to think on her own and come up with wrong assessment of the situation at hand. Feeling like she has little to offer the world but her hunger for vengeance, she leaves on her own. The story continues years later with Rhiannon fine tuning her assassin techniques and her and Sawyer still pining for each other. The couple is given a unique opportunity to work together in helping a group of girls kidnapped by Bagdad Sayeed. What happens next is a thrilling adventure. We get to reconnect with past members and friends of the Cerberus Group. There is an abundance of action, conflict, espionage, and emotions that follows as well as some very hotš„ sex. When a black ops rescue mission goes bad several months later, Rhiannon is captured by the enemy. She knows Sawyer and the rest of their team will come for her. She just needs to survive. When they do reach her, and get her to the hospital, she is in bad shape. The torture has left scars on her back and on her soul She believes she is damaged, and Sawyer wonāt want her any more. She does not believe she will be able to be his submissive ever again. She escapes from the hospital and disappears. It takes years for Sawyer to find her again.
Fitz and Sawyer manipulate her into coming back onto their team, as a sniper. She is one of the best. She plans to enjoy the time she has with Sawyer, then fade back out, but he has other ideas. He will never let her go again, and once they come back together, it is as if no time has passed. Now they have the common goal of killing the man who had her tortured, and then on with the rest of their lives.
This book is the best of the series so far. Sawyer was lost without his love, and finding each other has made them both whole again. Rhiannon is one of the authorās signature feisty heroines who can take care of herself, and the fact that she allows Sawyer to take care of her is a testament to their love. Their HEA is years in the making and oh so sweet. I cannot recommend this one highly enough

Sawyer and Rhiannon have had an interest in each other since she joined their team and although very little is known about her life as a child, she has been a great asset to the team even though she is female and working in heavily combative area as the medic she shows no fear what-so-ever.
Rhiannon has a tendency to take action first and think of the consider the consequences later however, when any of her team are injured, she will let nothing stand in her way and on this one operation she is captured, tortured and left badly injured. She is also very badly beaten and nearly raped by the guards, she was also sexually assaulted and escapes from the hospital with taking her own vengeance in mind.
For nearly five years her team members and her Dom and the love of her life Sawyer have been trying to catch up with her but she is clever and seemingly always one step ahead and they feel as though they are constantly playing catch up, they will not give up on her no matter what it takes.
She is a very different woman from the medic that had been part of their team all those years before and she has spent her time catching up with those responsible for atrocities against women and children and she will not stop till the main culprit has paid the ultimate price.
A captivating read that will draw you in and hold your attention completely.

I absolutely loved this book. Delta drew me in on the first chapter and I could not put it down. This is book three of 'Mercenary Masters', and now my favorite of the series. Nigel and Olivia meet when paired up at an underground fencing match. Olivia wins the match by dirty tactics but underground fencing has few rules so Nigel accepts the defeat. Nigel is interested in the stunning Olivia but she refuses his advances thinking that he is too white bread for herself. Olivia plans on spending time with her friend JJ and enjoying JJ's BDSM club. She likes getting into sub space to let off steam and asked JJ to set up a club Dom for her. Nigel works in British Intelligence and sets up a surprise for Olivia at his friend's club. Olivia soon discovers that her Dom for the evening is non other than Nigel. Everything seems to be working out until the aftercare is to be administered. Olivia panics at the closeness and intimacy being offered by Nigel and uses her safe word to escape the situation. Olivia then finds herself in a jam when the friend she was to meet the next morning is murdered at the restaurant. The meeting of titans, the immovable object meets the unstoppable force. These two characters are wonderful and their story is great. Dex is a Sargent in the elite Marine Raiders, and Mallory is an professor of art history. Their three-year relationship includes domestic discipline, and he doesnāt hesitate to spank her when he thinks itās appropriate, such as because sheās disregarding her own safety. Mallory struggles with the concept of submission. She also struggles with Dex leaving on secret missions for the Raiders, which she knows are dangerous. Despite the fact that she is intelligent and educated, she doesnāt talk to him about it, doesnāt communicate with him.
Mallory puts together clues that Dex is going to propose marriage, and in a panic she flees when heās on a mission. She takes a teaching assignment in a far away country on the brink of civil war. When Dex comes home from his mission he is looking forward to seeing her, and instead finds a āDear Johnā letter. Without hesitation, he risks everything including his life and his career to save her.
Although the country the action takes place in is a fictional one, the characters there play into Middle Eastern stereotypes, which may be uncomfortable for some readers. The story is full of passion, tension and danger right to the very end!

Well-written, fast-paced, steamy book for sure. Only read if none of the aforementioned bothers youā¦ Iām not a feminist but Dexās treatment of Mallory in the beginning, well honestly, throughout the book, made me cringe with indignation. If she doesnāt do what he wants her to do, there is a spanking which will ultimately culminate in burning up the sheets, but stillā¦Dr. Mallory Lawson is a tenured Professor of Art History at the local University and well-respected in her field. So, to watch her giving in to Dexās āwhimsā is at first difficult until I understand that this is their relationship. Mal doesnāt want to accept that she has these needs and desires, but Dex sees in her what he needs. Dex is well-respected in his own rite in the US Marine Raiders until he goes off range to protect Mallory from herself. I loved the book once I accepted the fact that the H and h wanted this relationship and all of it was consensual. There is intrigue, all those things mentioned above but also some really strong people, entertaining people and some really bad people. Besides the steam of which there is a lot, the best part was the speech Mallory made to General Hassen in chapter 11. Very compelling. Well-done Ms. James! This book brings us the story of Dex whi is a US RAIDER MARINE AND MALLORY his very stubborn woman. Mallory after being with Dex for a few years decides that she isn't sure that this was what she wanted for herself and Dex so against strong objections she goes to another country to teach in place for her friend Sara. Dex comes home from his job to find a dear John note on fridge and decides he's going to go get his woman back and since this was an ARC given to me im telling you to go get the book and read ALL THAT DEX and the Cerberus team go through its one wild ride i can tell you i read this ARC in 1 day i could not but down until it was finished and for Delta please give us more!!!
