Don't read this if you haven't read the prior 2 books. This wraps up a bunch of stuff and it completely overlaps the prior 2 stories.
Serena isn't looking for a man. She wants to exact revenge on the people that destroyed her family and killed her parents years ago. In order to fund her revenge, she runs a jewelry business that is just starting to gain some recognition and success. Aries is the head of the Lionheart Syndicate. He is stunned to discover that he has finally found is fated mate and she's human!
Right off the bat, you have to embrace with your whole self the idea that Serena is submissive and will just accept Aries as a dominant. Period. You have to just accept that they go from not knowing each other at all to love and devotion in an instant. Period. If you can't do that, don't read this.
Serena is the youngest Amato sister and often feels like her sisters treat her like a baby. During the course of the author doesn't really give Serena room to grow because the suggestion is that she is already strong. Aries is more of a sketch than an entire character. I was glad that his time in the military was included in his character development. The reader doesn't really see him interact with his people so there is no sense of how he leads other than he's not his father or uncle.
I felt like the author rushed one of the big conclusions of the story of the Amato sisters. Yay that they finally know who done them wrong all those years ago and everyone has paid for their crimes but it almost felt like an afterthought. I wanted the women to have their big BAM moment but instead, it was more of a reveal, reveal, reveal, and done moment. Another issue I had was that one of Aries' lieutenants really didn't like Serena at first. I wanted a moment of reckoning like her sisters got in their stories but all Serena got was the mention that the individual now likes her. Huh. Kind of lame in my opinion.
So why did I give this 4 stars if I wasn't really moved? Simply stated, I wanted the solution to the mystery of the Amato sisters and the readers get that. Period. This story takes place in Italy and the Carpathian mountains. It includes mention of and cameos by characters from prior books/other series but it's all related. I will read move from this author in the future because I have thoroughly enjoyed other books even if this one fell a little flat in my opinion.

The story is part of the Syndicate Masters: La Cosa Nostra series. The story will mainly focus on Serena Amato and Aries Borgia--the head of the Lionheart Syndicate. The story will include cameo appearances by other couples from previous stories in this series, and behind the scene appearances of those from the previous series.
The story has what we all come to know, love, and even expect within Ms. Delta James series, strong, dominant men and equally feisty females. You'll have power exchange, dominance, submission, control, and surrender. Secrets, mystery, suspense, good and evil, and shifters. I love the cat-and-mouse game between Aries and Serena--she thinks she can evade him, but she is definitely wrong.
Serena: I think it would be best if I joined my friends.
Aries: Unacceptable. This is better, I would prefer we have our disagreements in private, but be warned, if you misbehave in public, I will ensure your discipline is delivered the same way.

The second book in this series La Cosa Nostra is steamy and full of action. I’ve been on the lookout for the ARC to be available via Booksprout and when I saw it I jumped at the opportunity.
Raffi/Rafaella and Nico are paired for an invitation only event at Dante’s. Nico recognizes her as his fated mate and is determined to break all the rules to find out who his anonymous sub is and where to find her when she disappears from his bed.
Raffi is on a mission - well really 2 missions - get justice for herself and her sisters from the people who murdered her parents and the woman who profited from putting them is horrible circumstances within the foster system; and stay out of Nico Falconeri’s grasp and bed! She recognizes he is the perfect man/Dom for her, but she doesn’t think she has time for live right now.
Raffi takes Nico for a wild adventure as she hides from him and his efforts to uncover who she is and where to find her. I love how close he is to finding her the entire time, but he doesn’t put all the clues together.
I loved how she captained the rescue effort for bringing Nico home and how easily she took control over the clan, caused absolute havoc for the men, and won everyone’s affection and love. I am disappointed this time period (approximately a week) is only described as having happened versus actually having it happen on the page. The storyline jumps from the dangerous situation after leaving Milan, to Nico’s e rescue. It sounds like what happened during the week Raffi was in control was an absolutely amazing adventure!.

'Feral Oath' is the second book in Delta James' "Syndicate Masters: La Cosa Nostra" series and it's riveting. The story opens up with an event at Dante's BDSM club for a celebration to be attended by invitation only. As a matter of fact, it's a masked event where each Dom has been assigned a sub who has either already played with that Dom or specifically requested to play with him. That's when we meet Nico Falconeri, aka the Predator of Palermo, who is the Jaguar shifter from Sicily. Not only that but his sub for the evening is none other than Rafaella, aka Raffi, Amato, aka La Pantera. Sparks fly, chemistry sizzles, and the scenes are hot as blue blazes but Raffi has made a solemn vow to follow the trail of who killed their parents, had the three sisters separated, thrown into three different foster homes, and sold their family home and possessions. She knows there's some kind of connection between her and Nico but she has convinced herself she doesn't have time for a relationship of any kind until her vow is fulfilled. Nico, on the other hand, knows she is his fated mate and doesn't intend to let her go but after falling asleep with the intention of claiming her the next morning, he wakes to an empty bed. The hunt is on and he intends to find her. There are a lot of twists and turns in this one with some secrets being revealed. Both of these characters are strong, alpha personalities in their own right … combined they're almost magical. This is a great read and now I can't wait for 'Defiant Vow' to come out.

The story is another spin-off in the Syndicate Masters series and will take place in and around Italy. The story will have a special event at Dante’s where Nico Falconeri was one of the invited single Doms, and they are paired up with single submissives. The event was masked and confidential, which meant there was no way for either sub or Dom to be sure with whom they were playing.

By the time you’ve figured out who is who and what is what, you’re already hooked, and you may as well give up the fight and prepare yourself for an all-nighter!

Roman sexy as all get out Poseidon’s tiger part of the La Cosa Nostra possessive never really thought he would find his fated mate alpha of Castello d’Onore, Genoa, Italy, considered by some as a leader of the local criminal underground. He is holding a fundraising gala, where he will have a Michelangelo sketch on display, being guarded by a group of dangerous men led by Yuri Nikitin, the museum director in Venice who only got his job through his father’s Bratva connections like I said dangerous. Zia intelligent, and professional thief she hasn’t had a good life because of an assumption that her father was part of a criminal, so she and her sister were separated and thrown in foster care but as the oldest she worked her butt off stealing things to get her sisters out of the system. Her sister Rafi is an expert at information gathering and brokering, with the reputation of being La Pantera, and hacking security systems to help Zia on her illegal jobs to steal artwork. Serena became a master jeweler, often using loose precious stones Zia picked up during her work, to make exclusive pieces of jewelry and one main goal for Zia is to put the blame on the museum director because of his mistreatment of many young female docents trying to learn about the masters of art. Yuri is one step away from having to return to his father in disgrace and he is certainly not up to the job of the Bratva or even his father’s wishes for him. Zia gets herself invited to the gala, aiming for the Michelangelo sketch, now with all the warning from her sisters to not try anything in Roman’s home he is dangerous she had to have that painting. When she arrives early, to take advantage of a room to rest and change in, before the gala, she is met by the man himself, who realizes she is his fated mate and he is plans are to make her his as soon as possible and never let her return to whatever life she had before he met her! But he doesn’t know about her sisters or what she will do to keep them together so him trying to keep her isn’t something Zia is happy about, especially with her sisters although she can’t deny the very strong attraction to him, but her job is to steal the piece of artwork and give it to her broker waiting by the gates, until she is caught and punished for disobedience, finding herself even more turn on than she has ever been. But she can’t stick around too long without him making her his captive so using one of her well planned emergency plans set just for situations like this escaping and making sure her sisters know she is safe but just by her being with him at the gala a target has been placed on her and her sisters placing them in danger from his enemies and those that would use his influence to get something they want, by threatening Zia and her sisters. Ruthless Honor is a wickedly sexy beginning to the dangerous and intriguing world of La Cosa Nostra, part of the Syndicate Masters world. This was my first experience in this world and I did not feel the least bit lost, the transition into this new spin-off was smooth as the intensity of the story quickly ratcheted up.
Zia and her sisters have had a rough life, and their answer to that adversity is fascinating and challenging. As a master thief, Zia has made many people pay for what was done to her family while ensuring that she and her sisters continue to survive on their own. She’s very good at what she does and she’s going after a huge prize nestled in Roman’s estate. But this heist isn’t going to go quite as Zia expected.
There is a lot to be found in Ruthless Honor, an intricate plot, some dangerous situations, rich history for Roman, a new life for Zia – and some intensely sexy Dom/Sub moments. The villain here is particularly vile, and I wasn’t the least bit sorry when they got what was due for their actions. I loved Roman even if he is overbearing, arrogant beyond measure, and sexy as sin. There were enough glimpses of another Roman to give this man my heart quite willingly. I adored Zia. She’s feisty, fierce, stubborn, and resourceful. Her antics produced more than a few chuckles and mental fist pumps along the way. I got lost in their world, and I love when a story takes me away from my world and deposits me in the world of the characters so smoothly. I had fun here, and really, that’s the entire point.
If you love a definitely sexy romance, some battles of will, a taste of danger, and an unusual love that blooms in spite of how it started… then you’ll love Ruthless Honor.
