I loved this exciting book about the Ross Sisters, etc! I love the Aunts antics, the warhorses bravery, the lovelife of Cat & ALLLLL her family & extended family! I KNEW she was being poisoned! LOL
Caden was awesome for Cat. I loved reconnecting with the whole family & how their lives had turned out! I would have liked an Epilogue on Cat and any babies they might have been expecting or had!.
Can't wait for the next adventure with probably Ina?
Also my favorite part was the ladies overpowering the Sinclairs all by themselves without the men & how the men knew of how it would go down, all except Caden as he was new to all of this! Good job!

This is an enthralling story. I love the fearsome women in it. Their husbands, all except a recently married one, leaves the women to settle their own scores. There are lots of serious scores to settle. Despite being outnumbered, the fierce women win the battle! As you read this review you’ve got lots of questions. Some I will answer. In avoiding being a spoiler, some questions I will not answer. My prerogative, you know. Some details: In a small castle that appears to be pink in color lies one of the main characters very sick in her bed; Lady Catriona (Cat) MacKay. Anyone visiting Sanside House, however, will encounter Rhoda, the housekeeper, who is dressed and acts like the Lady of the Sanside House. The story begins with visitor who comes to the house. He is Caden Zahrah Keith. He is there at his sister Kaithria’s urging. He is not to be denied entry no matter how difficult Rhonda is. Kaithria and Catriona are the best of friends. On an earlier visit Kaithria became convinced that something was amiss. Caden stays on at Sanside House and investigates what he can but his most important mission is to determine what is causing Catriona’s illness. What he discovers shakes him to his core. He learns that a plot of long standing is in place. However, it appears he will need help confirming his suspicions, nursing Cat back to health, and giving the culprits responsible for her suffering their comeuppance. To avoid being a spoiler, I will leave you hanging. This is a fun listen with its share of excitement, unity and bonding among relatives and friends. Oh yes, there’s a big fight... Enjoy!

Aunts Agnes and Hexy are planted in the household as servants to try and discover the truth.

At Kinbrace, she is mistreated by those who wish her dead, yet, Keir does not care that she is from an enemy clan, or that she looks different. He seems to take a liking to her, and his unexpected support makes her for the first time in years question her choices;

Loved this as much as the other ones from the Brough Castle ladies! Another feel good, great adventure full of romance, mystery and great characters with a heroine and hero you will love! This one is Kaithria's story. She is mysterious, quiet and exotically beautiful. She has been secretly in love with Keir Gunn since she first saw him. She is afraid because she is a Keith; the Gunn clan's enemy. She has been on the run since the day her father murdered her mother. I will not spoil the whole story line since it is sooooo good, but her past comes back with a vengeance and she is in trouble! I love the characters in this one. Great Aunt Agnes Gunn on her huge draft mule smoking her pipe is a great touch, and I love the inclusion of the support of INA ROSS!!!! as well as Lady Catriona MacKay and a new character- Lady Gillis Ross! Kaithria was used to being alone and defending herself, but these women all came together to help and defend her. Keir never gave up on her either, he did not care that she was from an enemy clan, or that she looked different, he knew he wanted to make her a Gunn, -his wife.
Great scenery of the area and Kinbrace with a little history mixed in! Loved, loved loved the ladies fighting their battles with fiesty Cat MacKay helping. A wonderful romance where Keir was patient and loving, waiting for Kaithria to trust him. All put together with a super HEA ending that was just perfect.. sighhhh.... Now I want to read Cat's story or Gillis Ross' story next please!!!!! Really love these books! Thank you for these!!!!

In the prologue a desperate mother is CARRYING her little girl while she runs from her beastly husband and his men. To fool him, she hides her daughter and then takes a satchel from her back and holds it as if she is carrying a child and continues to run. In reading this, I am assuming that the child is small, not more than four, possibly five years old. In chapter one, that takes place FOUR YEARS later, the child is a fully grown woman!! I went back and reread the entire prologue again and then started chapter one again and ...what the heck is going on here??? It made no sense and took me out of the story entirely because I kept trying to figure out the age of the girl, Kaithria. However, it was pointed out to me in a comment that it took place 14 years later. I went back and looked at my kindle which says 4 years later. I then checked the online portion that we can read and it IS 14 years later. This would make a BIG difference in the book. So, if you are reading a kindle that says 4 years, it is actually 14. (I still didn't care for the book.)

This wasn't the only thing in the book that made no sense. So much of the plot is ridiculous that I just kept shaking my head in bewilderment. Kaithria's entire backstory was lacking in coherence, too. And the dialogue...whoo. Just plain bad. The characters are supposed to be larger than life and heroic, I guess, but I found them to be comic book quality. I take that back. I love comic book super heroes, but not these women. I love my Highland warrior stories and I love the strong, fierce women who find their HEA with them. This is definitely not one of those stories.

There is an abrupt, non-satisfying ending to this story and you must download an app to get the epilogue. To do this, you give your email and permission to have the author send material to you. To me, that is holding the epilogue as hostage and I refuse to do that...especially for a story that I don't like!

Kaithria is a mysterious and unpredictable character. Keir is protective. Ms. Adams characters are so real that they easily allow me to enjoy the story. As the story unravels, clues about Kaithria are revealed. Will Keir and Kaithria have an HEA? Definitely read this book to find out.

She is a tough women and that is what it took to bring Swan's brother Steil back to the world of the living. Such exciting scenes that were so descriptive you felt you were there. Loved the smuggling angle! And that Cat McKay, Wolf's little sister is in this one and she is not what you expect- but I won't spoil it!
Loved how they fight with out real weapons. These aren't warriors though they want to be like the Ross sisters lol they are just determined ladies! You know they will fall in love in the end but the stories around these girls and how they get there is always so fascinating and unexpected!
The horse Mentieth made me cry! What a wonderful part of the story!!!
I am eager for Cat McKay's story, and the mysterious Kaithria- what are their stories?

Oh, my goodness this was such a great read. I love the tone of these books- similar to the Ross sisters- and they make an appearance in this one too, which I loved! Great scene setting, exceptionally fun characters that you don't want to say goodbye too. At times you will laugh, (Swan sings when she is afraid) then you will sigh with happiness, then get into the action of a battle with these strong women who don't even have proper weapons! In the end a lovely, sweet romance with a worthy hero and heroine. Interesting setting around the tip of Scotland with all the bogs.
Loved the big black horses in this one, and their names-Dummy, Inch and Teeth! I love how she includes horses, what girl doesn't love horses! Loved the burping dog Beans and the children who helped and cheered on Swan. Fascinating to read how Wolf who was fiercely loyal to his king and the errand the king sent him on, fell in love with Swan and the children and chose love in the end. I can't wait to read about Kaithria and Neely, and hope Cat McKay has a story too. I just love these and want more in this style! They aren't dark, they are happy, and empowering and loving, adding some humor here and there, and filled with action and strong friendships and horses and always a wonderful romance with a hero to sigh over. I have read some of the others by Alisa and didn't care for them, but the Ross sisters and now the ladies of Brough are far and above my favorites. I wish they came in hard copy. I like to keep a hard copy version of my favorite books- Judith McNaught, Julie Garwood and now the Ross sister series extending into this one! Love Love Love. I read the series out of order, so I had heard about Wolf and Swan. Their love story did not disappoint.
Both were strong characters, given witty dialogue by Ms. Adams. I smiled a lot and really enjoyed the romp through the bogs and desolate northern Scotland.
The supporting characters were equally well developed. I didn't care for Neely at first thinking for not helping. It amused me that her horse, Teeth, kept nipping at her hair and clothing. It wasn't until I read "Highlander's Heart of Steel", that I understood her better.
As Swan leads the 3 women, 6 orphans and an old man to safety with only a pest cutter and a wolf hound for defense, there is adventure, friendship, danger, and of course romance. Will Wolf decide love is more important than following the Kong's orders.

This is my 8th story by this author and she is becoming a favorite of mine.

We are treated to humor, suspense, twists and interesting main and secondary character's. Romance builds slowly and this is a clean story with only kisses.

The blurb gives too much away so you figured out who the villain is and who is the Prince, but still an interesting story.

I loved the strength of the sister's and even though part of a series, can be a stand alone. But, I enjoyed the other stories too.

My only problem with the story our H has broken ribs and within days he is rowing a boat and knocking a door down - lol.

No cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, romance and a story I hated to end. I can't improve on the blurb, just recommending this story and author. (ljb

But the rebellious nature of Ina matched up with the strong, knowledgeable Bieste who, even with amnesia understands honor and loyalty to protect others, makes for an amazing tale of family bonds, greed, deceit, and love. Add in the wonderful two characters of the aunts and the needed humorous relief keeps everything sane. Great story by a very talented author!

HIGHLANDER’S SCARRED ANGEL has countless adventures that are creatively intriguing, where humorous moments, emotional incidents, and even dangerous exploits are expertly interconnected. I could be laughing one instant and then be in fear of what would happen to the characters that I had come to adore. Alisa Adams makes the whole book captivating with her unique style of writing, and every scene kept me thoroughly engaged.

After being forced from her home and having to seek protection from a neighboring clan, Cenna Ross is glad to once again return to her castle called Fionnaghall. Since the parents of she and three sisters are no longer alive, one of the siblings must manage any tenants still on the property. With her warrior-like abilities, Cenna will be the one to take control, but having Tristan MacDonell accompanying her does not set well. Though she is grateful for how their clan helped when needed, the man whose brother is laird always seems to irritate her in some way, and she plans to do things her way, not his.

This is a clean story with only kisses but I loved how the romance built. She fought so hard to hate him, but realized she would do anything for him.

The secondary character's added richness to the story. There are some sad heart wrenching moments with villager's that broke my heart. Some thrilling exciting moments that kept me reading.

I read HIGHLANDER'S SCARRED ANGEL FIRST and really enjoyed it. This one had me scratching my head at times. You knew the h loved the H from the start. They venture to her home to try and reclaim it for her. The H wasn't aware she lived by the sea. Why then did she feel he only wanted her because of where her ancestral home was. Everyone knew he loved her from the start too. This didn't make sense and seemed out of character for the h.

I also, couldn't understand why the H left the h in the dark who he wanted to marry?

Some editing problems where names were incorrect or spelling. This is a clean story with only kisses.

I loved the tension and suspense with the caves and tide and that raised my rating. So vividly written!

What I dislike about this author is in probably 1/2 if not more of her stories, you have to download an extended epilogue. I DON'T LIKE THIS! Plus in this one, the extended epilogue goes to the H/h children - how many they had etc. It ruined it for me because I haven't finished all the sister's yet and the extended epilogue says who they married.

No cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, some romance and some spice. Granted some the the scenes were hard to believe, but some of the other's I enjoyed. (ljb)

This was a great read. Godet and her sisters: Ina (the dreamy one), Cenna (the sassy one), Flori (the soft one), along with their Aunt Hextilda were a crew of fearless women. Although, they needed work in listening to the men at times and to stop rushing into things or trying to leave the men out of things. Out of all the sisters, Ina was my favorite sister.

Gordon and his brother (Tristan), along with his top warriors: Liam and Loughlin were the crème de la crème of warriors.
They each had chosen a woman to claim among the sisters.

Then there is this little problem of: Bridga, who had been betrothed to Gordon (by her father) in lieu of a business treaty.

This was a fun read i liked all the humorous moments the danger and the constant back and forth between Gordon and Godet as they try to resist each other. I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book, and this is my honest review I have also purchased a copy for myself.
