I’ve always loved Science Fiction and to find this series that also contains Alphas and Omegas? That felt like the icing on the cake. In very quick order, I found myself devouring the entire series!
She hates the alien warriors that conquered her world. All of them but one…
Serena lived by three rules – Survive. Fight back. Stay hidden. But that was before. Before she was caught and brought to T’Kinn, the most arrogant, annoying alien she’s ever met…and the sexiest.
This alien isn’t just a warrior – he’s a healer, and a threat to every secret she has. He’s determined to discover what she is and he’ll use every tool at his disposal… including her own desires.
He thought she was the key to unlock the mysteries of these human females – but she is so much more.
Kinn’s orders were clear. Find out why the females of Earth are different. Serena’s arrival in his hall gives him the perfect opportunity to learn more – if only she’d stop fighting him. Fierce, determined, and beautiful, she’s a constant source of chaos in his well ordered life.
But once he learns her secret, all bets are off, and he will do whatever it takes to claim her as his own. Even if keeping her was never meant to be.

Kinn is the top Warrior Healer of his clan and has been given the order of trying to find out what makes Earth females so different from those off planet.
Serena has been found by patrolling warriors, injured and half starved while hiding from violent rogue warriors from a separate clan.
Trying to convey that his clan is honorable and cherishes females, Kinn is not making much progress.
Serena has seen horrific atrocities happen to women caught by the original clan that came to Earth looking for their fated mates but took without asking or naturally connecting first.
Can a love be strong enough to survive giving freedom of choice?
A very emotional heartfelt story.

Oh my WOW! This addition to the series is my new favorite book! I love how Kinn would do anything, even go against his nature, for his little star. This is an epic love story that truly shows only we can choose to change. The authors kept me glued to my seat with this fast-paced high intensity read. And then they gave me the nudge to want to read more. Is Mother Superior more than what she seems? How about that subtle little nudge from the man in charge to his warrior? Could he have his own plan that only he is aware of? So many fantastic possibilities! And I can’t wait to see what happens.

Really enjoyed this one. Loved the more in-depth book. I enjoyed seeing more into the aliens interactions with each other. Would most love a full novel detailing what Rett is undertaking. How his first interactions go with the humans. How does he learn the human slang? What does he do or say when what is said doesn’t translate? How does he get out of those situations? How does he deal with hearing what was really happening to the humans for the past 20 years? How does that effect his integrations into the humans resistance? I know it’s a ton of questions but I think it’s a fascinating idea for a novel. Maybe a sexy romantic comedy novel? 😉
He’s everything she knows to fear… but the alien warrior is her one chance to survive.
Injured, lost, and on her own, Savannah is at breaking point when help finally arrives. His name is Rath, and he’s one of the enemy… only he doesn’t act like it. He’s sexy, gentle, and his touch makes her ache for things she’s never wanted before…
He’s one of the beasts that conquered Earth – a dangerous alien in the service of a cruel and powerful Overseer. If he claims her, she’ll lose everything. So why does she yearn for his touch?
Catching his mate was the easy part… keeping her will be the fight of his life.
When Rath discovers a rare female hiding in the wastelands he knows he has to save her. She’s weak, wounded, and his… even if she doesn’t know it yet.
The law says he cannot claim her. His enemies want her for themselves. Rules won’t stop Rath from claiming his mate, and no enemy will survive if they try to take her from him.

The writing and editing of the ARC version of the manuscript was clean, with no typos that I found and well constructed sentences. The world building was competent, though not as vibrant as I prefer. The characterization was well done, with both hero and heroine being sympathetic individuals with nuance. The development of the romantic relationship was sweet and hot, with a heat level of three chili peppers. The plot was tight and exciting, and as a consequence the pacing was quick. There was low angst and high stakes throughout this novel, which tends to be one of my preferred narrative structures for a romance novel. This novel used the Alien Invasion trope, the Enemies to Lovers trope, and the Mating Bond trope. The world building was three stars. The plot and pacing were both four stars. The characterization and development of the romantic relationship were also four stars. I therefore rounded up and gave this novel a combined rating of four stars. This novel ended on a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger ending, so that was a big plus. I recommend this novel to readers who enjoy omegaverse romances with some sweetness. I look forward to reading the next book in this series when it releases. I plan to buy myself a keeper copy of this novel.

The thing I like best about this book is the pure escapism. Yes, the scenes are described in vivid detail, but I could also get into the mindset of Savannah and Rath. POVs for the main characters are my favorite way of storytelling and both of these give us great insight into what they feel at the time and their past. Savannah is a strong independent woman in a tough situation. Rath is a gentle giant when it comes to Savannah but a mean MF when it comes to defending her. We get a little more about the Alphas and Omegas and the way they are supposed to interact, but this sweet sexy sci-fi short is basically a falling in love story in one of my favorite genres. Great read!

I’m thrilled to find out what happens to Savannah. She is strong and resourceful. She’s wary enough to spot potential traps, avoiding danger, though she does eventually slip up.
These books are intriguing. The differences between the two opposing groups of alphas are huge. The damage done by the first group created such adverse circumstances that the omegas fight every step of the way. I recommend you read these thrilling stories to learn how Alphas of the H’thor clan entice and captivate their feisty, determined, human omegas. Outstanding entertainment!

Savannah was taken from her mother Serena a while back. Serena is now with Var, Shield for the Lord. She was always taught to never be caught by aliens, to run, hide. But when she is caught by Rath, she is weak and in need of medical care. It takes a great deal for Rath to not take his omega but Savannah is different. They are not like their own. They are willful and stubborn. He has to build up trust with her for her to see no harm in him. I have to say the conversation in the tub. OMG was that so hot. Hell even I could think about what he said with my eyes closed. With Savannah’s past and the loss of her mother, or so she thought, made it hard for her to trust. But Rath showed kindness, love, and caring. There are times they were so close to seeing her mother but it finally worked out in the end. I am looking forward to reading about Kinn.
If you don’t know by now, you should. I love book series. I started very young when I first stumbled upon The Black Stallion series by Walter Farley. This series ignited my love of books. It also led me to other short book series.
Somewhere along the line, I started reading “The Dragonriders of Pern” series by Anne McCaffrey. Between what Ms. McCaffrey has written, and the ones written by her son, Todd McCaffrey, this series currently stands at 25 books. Ms. McCaffrey has written several other series, but it seems that none of them connect to the others in any way.
Anna Lowe has also written several series, Twin Moon Ranch, Blue Moon Saloon, Aloha Shifters: Jewels of the Heart, Aloha Shifters: Pearls of Desire, and Billionaires and Bodyguards. While characters from one series are mentioned in the next, there is no real interplay between the two. So not exactly what I call “connected.”
So what do I mean by “Connected?”
I’m going to use the books of Delta James as my examples. Her books were what started me on this quest. Ms. James has written a number of series, some of which are obviously connected, others are not so obviously connected.
A prevalent theme throughout her books is the Dominant/submissive (D/s) theme. Keep that in mind during this discussion. There are things and places mentioned in almost all of her books that are tied to other books. This is the type of connection I am talking about.
In the Wayward Mates series, we are introduced to 9 strong-willed she-wolves (women) and the males who love them. I would say “alphas” but Nick from Claiming His Mate isn’t an alpha, he’s the pack Beta. None of these couples embrace the D/s dynamic but Marco DeMedici and the Florence pack own the club, Dante’s, in Florence, Italy. We learn this little fact in “In Vino Veritas“
The next series is “Tangled Vines” and its Prequel, “Corked.” In the prequel is where the brothers, Damien and Linc Steele, buy the small boutique hotel and famed BDSM club, Torch Light” to renovate. Linc and his mate, Grace live a D/s life 24/7. Damian meets his mate in Uncorked with the help of Marco Demedici. As the series continues onward, more couples embrace the D/s dynamic in their lives. We also see them crossing paths and pursuing connections with the alphas from Wayward Mates.
Fated Legacy is a series that introduces us to the adult children of the couples from both Wayward Mates and Tangled Vines. Set 40 years after the two series, the new generation battles an evil force called the “Darkness” thought to have been vanquished by Jean Lafitte, the original alpha of the New Orleans pack. In this series, we are taken to the London club, Baker Street.
Now, I had to check this out and actually ask Ms James, but it turns out that Baker Street is owned by the Cerebus Group from Mercenary Masters! This is actually the first club in the group. You may or may not be surprised to find out that this group are all humans. Nevertheless, the players freely interact in each other’s series.
This club also features prominently in the current series, Masters of the Savoy. As a side note, the opening story, “Advance” has an interesting history. It began life as a story in the 2020 anthology Dirty Daddies. Expanded and rereleased as Best Seller, it was once again re-edited and found its place as the opening story in this paranormal mystery series.
The final set of connections that I’ve traced is to the stories of “Alpha Lords.” This series is set in the post-apocalyptic future and feature the packs of Calon ‘Onest and Ravenscar, among others.
It’s the many connections like these that keep my mind interested and involved with a story. See what connections you can find in your favorite series!
1508 Sebastian Drake, stoic protector of the Drake family, always gets what he wants—and there is nothing he wants more than the half-starved Pedigree omega named Peregrine he comes across on his travels. It doesn’t matter that Peregrine is a Disgrace. Sebastian will do whatever it takes to keep him… and somehow, as impossible as it might be, find a way to be his mate.
Present Day For hundreds of years, Peregrine has enjoyed life as Sebastian’s mate. Sure, as one of the only bonded omegas in recent history he’s been kidnapped more times than he can count, but with Sebastian there to save him it’s little more than an inconvenience. And attacks from hostile clans? That’s just a typical Tuesday.
But there is one thing Peregrine fears, yet desperately wants.
One thing that has hurt him time and time again.
One thing Sebastian can’t save him from.
And now it’s happening again.

“To anyone who thinks their story is over. Darling, don’t give up. It’s only just begun.”
I was extremely excited waiting for this story. Perry has been one of my favorite characters since Clutch and Nate and Alistair. When I saw this dedication, I knew it would be worth it. If you are a fan of this series, you know there had to be hidden depths to Sebastian; he is more than just a big brute of a dragon. Perry is delicate, lovely, an almost perfect example of a dragonet, but he and Seb have been through a lot. Now we get to find out exactly what is in the past and how it all ties together. I had my suspicions from interactions among the omegas and comments made about the past and here we have it.
“We hoard the things we consider treasure, Perry. Be they art or gold or the ones we love. This is the way of the dragon.”
Kill me dead. I am slain. These authors have done me in. I think this one is my favorite so far. We knew Seb wasn’t just a big muscle bound bouncer type (I mean, duh, Perry) but he is definitely all soft squishy marshmallow when it comes to his mate. He is also smart enough to put puzzle pieces together that only Misha seems to have been able to solve. One of the Drake brothers has A LOT to answer for and I am very curious to see how this is all tied up in the last book. Perry and Seb carry so much secret pain and I love how it is all brought to light and made whole again in this book. As Harrison states in the epilogue, Perry really is the glue that holds all of the Drakes together and it is wonderful to see the love and family all at work. Absolutely loved this book. I got sucked in and read it in one sitting. Couldn’t help it!

When an author writes the origin story of a side character you've come to love through previous books, there's always a bit of fear that it won't live up to expectations you've created in your own mind. I shouldn't have worried.
Authors Scott and Kelly have penned a story more beautiful than I ever imagined. Perry's story is told in heartbreaking as well as heartwarming flashbacks interwoven with present day danger and intrigue. Prepare yourself for a rollercoaster of emotions. I'm still overwhelmed and a bit teary with it all, but there's nothing I would change. From beginning to end Peregrine was perfection. And Sebastian...my God, Sebastian. If ever a more swoon worthy hero was written, I couldn't name him.
Next up is Raven. I am simultaneously wishing for and dreading this book. With it, all my questions will be answered, but when the last page is read, my adventures with the Drake family will be over, and that will be a very sad day indeed
3.0 out of 5 stars Perry and Seb's Story - Full of Heartache and Loss Along with Hope
Reviewed in the United States on June 5, 2021
I fell in love with this series and characters so when I saw 'Peregrine' out, I was beyond thrilled. Perry has featured early on with his large clutch of eight eggs. Those hatchlings are now eight years old, full of fun, noise, and keeping their parents busy.
We learn how Sebastian and Peregrine met, a completely odd chance, where Seb trusts his dragon half and instinctively knows that this poorly clothed half starved omega is his. Who cares about disgraced status, what his brother thinks, or this so called planned trip. This omega is his. No questions. That's his stand from the start and in the centuries they've been together, he's never wavered.
The story travels back 500 years and forward and back and forth and for me I was tired of the time jumps. I'm not sure if having two sections to the story instead of these chapter jumps would work better. Maybe I'll eventually go back and read those chapters, but for what I wanted out of the story, I was firmly in the present.
Perry has had two successful clutches and centuries of many that never made it. Losing one in miscarriage or stillborn is bad enough, but one hundred? I can't imagine. And now another pregnancy and it's tears instead of happiness. Dread. Knowing the odds are against them yet Seb and Perry hang onto each other, supportive, protective, loving, and hoping. Thank goodness for advanced medical care and Harrison (along with Steve) knowing what to do, even if it's tentative. As for nit picks I wanted to know if Everard had enough magic to assist Perry, because nothing is said about it. Or if Everard is okay. Why wasn't there a talk between Seb and Everard about the Raven/Bertram incident? There's too much left unsaid which had a huge impact on this story. And that includes Bertram's disrespectful creepiness when alone with Perry. Three stars for the reasons I stated. - Dan's Wife

And now we know why Everard has no pet names for Perry!
I absolutely adored every single word of this book, there wasn't a thing I would have chosen to be different and not a jot of the feels I would have given up.
Throughout this series Peregrine has been there, the glue at the centre of the Drake brothers' expanded family, the mate who has been there for half a millennia.
And his is such a wonderful story, from the moment Sebastian sets eyes on him trying to roll a barrel of herring to the whispered words of love at the end, theirs is a romance for the ages.
They support each other without fail, they love each other without conditions and they're honest and open in their feelings.
As this is a story about a bunch of dragons, you can bet there's the usual mayhem and chaos when whelps, dragonets and other offspring gather.
But there's also a thread of deep pain, of loss so powerful it changes your very soul, and we find out that what we feared might be the case for Perry's melancholy is true.
The authors weave this into a story which twists between the present day and the 16th Century and which travels the Medieval world and the modern one alike.
We find out secrets which go a long way to explaining some of what's been going on in the other books, but not all.
That will come in January (arghhhhh!) when we finally get Raven's story and the final Drake brother Bertram is going to have a lot of explaining to do!
Reynard Drake, solitary cybersecurity expert and curator of the Drake family fortune, would rather be chucked in the midden than forced to bed an omega, but as the selected Amethyst candidate for the mating experiment, he has no other choice. Resigned to his unhappy fate, he takes solace in the fact that one thing will never change—his virtual rival, Magpie, will always be there to keep him on his toes, even if he has been strangely absent from the internet lately…

Reynard was totally content with giving Misha whatever he wanted and I loved that so hard. He was just as determined to see Misha as his mate and they were literal #BondGoals. I was so there for Misha’s dominating presence in the bedroom. There was so much excitement in their story it kept me wondering how it was as going to all unfold! What I didn’t expect was reaching for a tissue as we got to see the softer side of Everard in the birthing of Misha’s whelps. Everard now holds a special place within the Forbidden Desires series for me. This was an amazing addition to the series, I hope it never ends!

Another great addition to the series. Magpie is the alias of an omega that breaks into dragon hoards and steals income for himself. He has been playing a game of wits with dragon named Reynaud and has come to admire him. When a new program is Instituted to match up omega and dragons along an experiment to improve fertility, he manipulates it so he is sent in place of the omega originally meant for Reynaud. Mischa is sassy, take charge and demanding which works out since Reynaud is a closet submissive. There is a lot of family drama from both sides, danger from terrorists, health concerns, an egg abduction with rescue and a deep and wonderful love between our couple and their eleven new baby dragons. The only concern i have is the introduction of Misha's father making threats and then it just goes away. With only that comment, I loved the book and am looking for more about this family, especially Bertram.

Misha and Reynard are perfectly suited for each other. My only quibble is a bit more backstory would have helped to explain some of Misha’s motivation.
I think we also got the setup for Bertram to get his own book. Let’s hope so! All the previous books have been wonderful in audio, as well as print, and I’ll be watching for Magpie in audio.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great characters, but huge plot holes
Reviewed in the United States on October 13, 2020
I didn’t understand where the Diamond’s interest in, and concern for Mischa was coming from. Mischa clearly didn’t have a good relationship with his father, so why did they care if he was matched to a Gold, or an Amethyst? Why, after he was solidly mated, and delivered a clutch, did his father care about his ‘value’ being lessened? And how could a clutch of 11 be anything to be ashamed of? And finally, why did we hear nothing more from them, as if that whole plot line was simply abandoned?
I certainly hope that Bertram’s book is next, because there were a whole load of unanswered questions with him and his serendipitous rescue.
Having said all that I wasn’t happy with, I think that I loved Mischa and Raymond the best. I liked that they didn’t balk at seeking for what they needed, and not just conforming to what their stereotypical roles should be.
Hugh Drake, the most whimsical member of the Drake family, wants a clutch badly… and despite his sanctioned period to reproduce nearing its end, he just might get his wish. New information has emerged that suggests Disgraces are dragons and able to bear eggs. All that’s left to do is find one Hugh can tolerate, and who better to help him find his perfect match than his steadfast and faithful secretary, Finch?
If only Finch were a Disgrace, but alas. Some things simply aren’t meant to be.
Sensible and straightforward Finch has served as Hugh Drake’s secretary for over a decade, and secretly loved him for just as long. Hugh is the light of his life, but he’s also entirely too gullible, which is why Finch refuses to believe his claim that Disgraces are dragons. They’re not. Finch would know, since he is one. But that little fact will have to stay a secret, because Finch would rather his love go unnoticed than be the one who breaks his dragon’s heart when he fails to produce a clutch.

This is a great addition to the series. In this story we have Finch, dutiful, ultra competent secretary to Hugh Drake, lovable, clueless and desperate to be a father. In his search to find an omega mate to give him his own clutch of dragon eggs, he engages Finch's help to organize a great ball inviting all eligible omegas. Through a fortunate mistake, he discovers that Finch is that perfect mate and through Finch's heat he believes he will have those precious eggs. However when Finch learns he is not carrying eggs, he runs away rather than disappoint Hugh. We have high drama, an extended family, lots of love and a most satisfying HEA.
Bookish, snarky, and fiercely independent Nate Boudreaux leads a solitary life. Between teaching classes at the university and working toward his PhD, he doesn’t need a partner to occupy his time, and he certainly doesn’t need a man like Alistair Drake complicating his future.
Alistair Drake, black sheep of the tremendously wealthy Drake family, is more interested in adding another notch to his bedpost than another zero to his bank account. When a Grindr message brings him to Nate’s doorstep, then straight to his bed, he has no reason to believe that what they share will be more than a simple hookup, until, three months later, a tug on his soul informs him otherwise.
For the Drake family has a secret—one that will force Nate and Alistair together as much as it will demand that they be torn apart. One that Alistair and his brothers have carried all their lives… and one that Alistair and Nate’s future children will carry, too.
Bound to each other by three precious impossibilities, Nate and Alistair have no choice—no matter the consequence, they must fight for their forbidden clutch.
This is a M/M Omegaverse series. Enjoyable and funny. The Alphas are all Dragon Shifters, the Omegas are all human, or are they? The interaction between Alpha and Omega will stick with you! Try not to laugh out loud, I Dare You!

The series is set within a world very similar to our contemporary world, however, within this universe there are alphas, betas, and omegas as well as a hidden dragon population.
The hidden dragon society have their own laws and social norms, and one of those rules is to not get a random omega pregnant without the approval of the dragon council. Alistair breaks that rule when he hooks up with Nate, aka Iggy, after matching on a dating app. Iggy has to figure out how the dragon world works while caring for his offspring and falling in love with Alistair. There is so much humor, snark, and incredibly sexy moments throughout this book. The writing combo of Piper Scott and Virginia Kelly is electric—they are both great writers on their own and together they have created a fascinating and enjoyable story.

Piper Scott and Virginia Kelly have a winner on their hands! This is book one of what I can already tell will be an AMAZING series! This one gives you everything: sex, mpreg, eggs (or meggs) and dragons! What more could a reader want?!?
You also get a developing story of true love, and family - both created and blood. I love how the story builds, and you can see the sub-plots developing to become more stories.
Nate and Alistair start like most guys, through a one-time hook-up. What happens next is nothing short of amazing. Nate gets pregnant, lays eggs (because you know - dragons), Alistair rescues them, and Nate and Alistair fall in love. Along the way there is trouble with the dragon council, family, friends and a pig that becomes a pet instead of breakfast. But you never loose sight of the fact that they most important ingredient in this book is love.
This book perfectly sets up the next in the series, and if I'm honest, at least one other.... and I can not wait for those!

This is my second time reading and listening to this book. I have read a couple of mpreg books before, but this is the first series I have read that is an mpreg with Dragon eggs/egg laying and the concept is rather interesting to me. I don't know if I have a preference of which type of mpreg I like (egg laying vs. Human child), but I might prefer the egg laying because - at least in this series - the omega isn't saying "I hate you and this is all your fault that I'm suffering through this pain" during labor. Which I find it sad and rubs me the wrong way when I read someone say that as having a child is a 2 person process and it's something that you should want together, despite the pain and discomfort it brings. Also, the whole giving birth scene just seems to be more tolerable for me to read at times when it's about laying eggs and not about giving birth to a child.

I don't think I have a whole lot to say about this book. I did enjoy reading it and there wasn't a whole lot of angst as despite a few ups and downs, everything went pretty smoothly. I am curious if Nate will finish whatever he was doing at school at some point. Also, I am curious on if Nate and Alistair will have another clutch at some point in their lives. Can baby dragons be female alphas? Nate had named one of his baby dragons Malory and I thought that was more of a girls name than a boys name, but who knows. I am also curious with just how big their new house is, which I am guessing it's probably big, but not as big as what Ev and Sebastian have.
I did enjoy both Nate and Alistair as characters, but I felt like Alistair was very negative towards himself except towards the end. I'm guessing it's from all the other dragons - mainly his family - belittling him on who he is and what he does with his wealth. It kind of didn't make sense on what Ev meant by that Alistair always got himself into trouble and so on, when it was never stated how he got into trouble in the past and on what he even did to get into trouble. And if Alistair was brought up with his family constantly saying stuff like that to him, it's no wonder he kept looking down on himself, on what he had, and considering himself a failure as a dragon. I am relieved that Nate was perfectly happy with what Alistair had - and with who he was - and simply wanted to be with Alistair and their eggs/baby dragons and nothing more. Material possessions were pretty much bonuses for Nate. I do find it interesting and somewhat amusing that once Alistair started making more money and Nate saw what Sebastian and Perry had in their hoard with the bed, that he wanted something better than Alistair's throne in their new hoard. But it's understandable that he would have a few suggestions of what he wanted in their new home. I'm not exactly sure If I liked the whole "I provide for you" dynamic Alistair had towards Nate as it did make their relationship feel a bit unbalanced at times - mainly in the epilogue - but if their happy with it than it is what it is. I am looking forwards to rereading Harry and Ev's story again. The last time I read this series I only got to the beginning of book 3 and stopped because it just seemed stressful with the whole forbidden relationship, but this time around I plan on finishing this series. I am curious if we will see all of Alistair's siblings, since he said he had seven (?) other siblings (or maybe he said there was seven of them in the family?) But so far we've seen Ev, Sebastian, and Geoffrey, so I'm curious on who we will see next out of the siblings.
The narration definitely heightened my enjoyment of the story. At times it was a little hard to tell who was speaking, but that only happened occasionally. There was a couple other issues I had, but weren't exactly too big of a deal. In the beginning when Alistair is telling Nate repeatedly to nest so that he can heal him and also allow Nate to calm down, more than once it sounded like the narrator was saying rest instead of nest, except for maybe the very last time Alistair said to nest. So that whole nest and rest mix up was a bit confusing. Another time the sentence that Alistair had spoken was completely cut off from the audio, so it would sound a little odd if you weren't reading along, even though it was a very long sentence and the meaning of it was pretty much repeated after he had said it. And then the narrator accidentally said siblings instead of hatchling towards the end of the book, which it also has the same meaning in that moment. So basically the issues I had aren't really that big of a deal for me and it's probably just me being nitpicky.
Overall, this is a pretty good book and I would recommend it to other people if they were interested in this genre with mpreg.

I can't even tell you how much I love this book. I couldn't stop reading and finished it in one sitting. I love that it literally started out with a bang and just kept going. There was never a dull moment and I couldn't help but fall in love with Nate and Alistair. They were so funny and sweet. Nate's friend Harry was totally adorable. His excitement was contagious. Alistair's brother Ev was a jerk to everybody but not with Harry. I can't wait to see where that goes. But I really loved seeing Nate with his eggs. His emotions were zinging all over the place at first but then he got fiercely protective. It was adorable. I loved seeing his bond with them grow. There were some really cute moments with them. I loved how Alistair's brothers were incorporated into the story and I hope we get to see more of them. I honestly can't get enough of these guys. I already want to go back and read this book again
Don’t be surprised if you find yourself needing to refresh your memory with this one. So many of our favorite couples make an appearance in this one. It really makes it enjoyable to see the continuity from one story to the next.
It should be easy when the Alpha of Otter Crest decides to claim his fated mate. The only problem is… she’s hunting him.
Ethan Storm had survived more dangerous missions than most men. It was only after he was mugged and his life hung in the balance that he was turned by one of his men.

The only problem is that with the exception of her sister, Marissa’s family has become entrenched with those that hunt the wolf-shifters. When her sister is murdered, Marissa joins the Hunters and vows to end those of Ethan’s kind.
When new information regarding her sister’s death comes to light, can Marissa bring the real villains to justice and find her own happily ever after with the only man she ever loved?

Erin, her sister, was a wolf shifter and she was killed by a group of Hunters, who want to destroy all shifters. Of course, the men of the wolf packs decide that she needs to be rescued. Marissa doesn't need to be rescued, she wants to be left alone to finish her retribution. But, Ethan Storm is a past love and when he was made a wolf shifter to save his life, he realized then that Marissa was his fated mate. Six years later, he finally decides that he needs to claim her. The result is a very entertaining story.
Delta James is one of my favorite authors. I really enjoy the stories she writes about shifters. I can't wait for the next two books in this series.
I received an advance copy of this book and this is my honest opinion

Mina was raised in a pack that is run by an evil, Alpha Wannabe. He rules the pack with so much cruelty, torture and hate that no one knows what life exists anywhere else. Mina escapes and in her plight to reach safety is cornered by another pack, one that she soon learns is a world apart from what her people have been lead to believe. This story is her journey from fear, and the depths of evil. Is there any other life? Is the world really as evil as she has been taught to believe. This book is a great read with revelation and upheaval from her world to a world that promises a life. Thanks Melanie for creating such great characters who have a depth and personality that keeps the reader engaged. I can't wait to read the next book in the series!.
Betty Olsen 5.0 out of 5 stars This is an awesome Wolf Shifter story Reviewed in the United States on April 8, 2017 Verified Purchase Mina is a wolf shifter from the Twisted Tail Pack who has been abused and is malnourished. When he gets her scent, he realizes he has met his mate. He sees how scared she is and he sets out to show and prove to her how different his Pack is.
This is an awesome Wolf Shifter story. Mina comes into her own especially since she isn't abused anymore and has the love of Rafe and his Pack. Loved this story and Rafe is awesome-has such patience with Mina. There are a few surprises which made the story more fantastic. Has romance, surprises and some angst but what a story!

Enter Rafe, Alpha of the Black Paw pack and her True Mate, who literally sweeps her off her paws and marks immediately upon meeting her, but her old Alpha is not giving up and he reigns destruction down in her new pack as well as her sisters. Great first book in what i think will be a wonderful new series by Melanie James. While not as wise cracking as her " Leigh" witch series, this has plenty if humor, intrigue, and hot sex !! There are a few controversial subjects mentioned; such as beating women into submission and killing for the sake of evil, but they are not delved into heavily, but should be noted for readers under 18 and anyone with psychological triggers. 4⭐'s !! And I can't wait to read book 2 !!
An arrowhead forged in dragon fire should have killed the beast Caitlyn came to slay, but she missed. Perhaps her aim was poor… or perhaps her body knew its master and betrayed her.
Either way, it doesn’t matter now. She is at her enemy’s mercy, and he is not going to be gentle.
She will be spanked until she is sobbing and begging, but the real screaming will begin when the Lord of Fire claims his mate, ravaging her quivering body in the way only one of his kind can.
Soon she will know what it means to be bred by a dragon.

Truly engrossing fast read from Ms. James. A little comical too. 😉 The Firelord is the fourth Elemental Dragon to find his true mate as Kellan, Duncan and Gideon before him. With the Firelord’s reawakening we are closer to the ending of the saga that caused their thousand-year sleep. But first Seth, the Firelord must tame his true heart and keep her from trying to kill him! Caitlyn has trained for the day when she can kill Seth, and eventually take over the realm according to legend. She’s good with a bow and arrow but is she good enough?
And then there is the reason all the Elemental Dragons have been brought out of their long sleep: the war is coming and a vampyr of old is trying to take over. Can they stop him and his league in time?
Keep in mind that this is a discipline story with lots of spanking and lots of “making up” afterward. 😳 Really steamy stuff. This was a real page-turner and I loved it. My only problem with it was that there were a few places where the shift from scene to scene was not clear whereas in others the delineation by asterisks was clear. Fix those and it is a five-star book. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book and if you like spanking discipline and its aftermath 😜you will want to read this book.

JTC4.0 out of 5 stars Pleasantly Surprised
Reviewed in the United States on November 16, 2020
I have not been overly fond of this series, and my reviews have been on the negative side due to repetitious stories and characters (male) who are interchangeable. I was surprised that I enjoyed Seth and Caitlyn's story so much. I figured Seth would be another arrogant, domineering dragon who didn't show growth or change, but he was the best of the bunch! Yes, he was still arrogant and changed Caitlyn without her consent. And punished overly harshly at times. But he was at least willing to accept Caitlyn for who she was, and allowed her to use her strengths and talents to help him. He was also more laid back and willing to see humor when his mate was "sassy" than the other dragons. Kellan is still the worst of the bunch - his mate is dragon-born and he STILL tries to keep her away from any type of interaction that could be deemed dangerous!
I loved when the female dragons met and got together to put a halt to their husband's school-yard behavior! Also loved that Caitlyn got a few licks in on Seth at the beginning. Yes, she fell to his lust WAY too fast, but at least she made him work for her! I so enjoyed that she was able to allude him for a few days!
The battle scenes were a bit anti-climatic. Again, I thought it was stupid to make the women stay back at Gideon's stronghold instead of helping. They're dragons for Pete's sake! They would be so much more valuable in a battle than mere humans! And could have, like Caitlyn, stayed back but still had a part. Enjoyed seeing the wolves show up and form a new alliance, but wish Emma could also have played a bigger role. But this was by far the best in the series.

Reviewed in the United States on November 16, 2020
Once again, Ms. Delta James has penned a page-turning, action-packed, romantic suspense filled shifter tale. Whether you have read her Wayward Mates series or not, the story will read well as a stand-alone. If you did read Wayward Mates, the story takes place many years into the future; a plague has ravished the earth, things are returned to the old ways, before technology.
NOTE: This is a post-apocalyptic dark shifter romance. It contains explicit sex scenes and may seem like non-con or dubious consent—but it is the way of life among these shifters---especially when they are fated mates. It is a way of life, with a strong, dominant alpha male and an equally strong submissive female who eventually capitulates and finds the pleasure in his control and mastery over her body. Yes, it even comes with the coveted HEA ended.
The story is the fourth of the elemental dragon shifters and will be Seth, the Fire Dragon. He is also the one that was known to enjoy women frequently. When he returns to Stone Fire, he will have two women at his ready to slake his long-overdue lust. But after the first one, he will be attacked. His assassin will escape, and he must go after them, but what he finds is a shock; it isn’t a man but a woman.
“I am Seth, Lord of Fire, and who might you be? More important, why are you trying to kill me?”
“I am death,” she hissed.
“Curious name for a beautiful girl. I will teach you to threaten your dragonlord.”
The story will have a powerful chemistry between Seth and Caitlyn, and while she tried to kill him, he has great admiration for her. When she escapes, he is lost without her, but he will find her and bring her back home.
“Stay safe, my true heart, but know I am coming, and I will make you pay dearly for your latest misadventure. “
The story also brings a danger that will have the four dragons and the alpha wolves together to fight evil. It will be good versus evil, and this is the battle that decides the future. It was fun seeing all the alpha wolves, their mates, the dragons, and their mates all working together.
While Caitlyn may have wanted to kill Seth initially, she has great respect for him and he for her. He teaches her how to fly, being positive, and even agreeing to allow her to be with him in battle. Unlike the other dragons, he has waited to breed her because of the immortality issue.
“There is nothing more important to me than you. You are my lover and my mate—my beloved and my comrade. Yes, my love. We will see it through to the end—together.”
As with the other stories in this series, it contains discipline and explicit sex scenes—but there are some unique characteristics to a dragon---read it and find out! I don’t know if this will be the final story in this series, but this is the battle that everything has been leading up to, and they claim their victory.
