The Agreement: (Syndicate Masters Book 3)

Every King deserves his Queen.

Such a wonderful story, I love these characters. Granted, I thought Peyton caved into Joshua a little bit quickly, but that’s just me. I have to admit, I love the little clues you left as to the type of shifters the last book will feature. Don’t want to spoil the ending, but I didn’t see that coming!

Joshua Knight—arts patron and currently the most powerful man in London.

Forget those in the monarchy or other barons of capitalism, Joshua Knight makes them look like paupers and pawns in the unseen chess game he and his friends seem to be playing. I’m a freelance reporter looking to make a name for myself. In the course of my investigation I come across damning evidence of corruption and crime.

Now I’m on the run to save my life and follow the story. The problem is that those who should be trying to protect me are part of the conspiracy to cover up the murder and get rid of the only witness… me.

The Agreement is a enemies to lovers romance with steamy heat in and out of the bedroom for mature readers only. Contains a reporter who will do anything for her story and the man who will do anything to stop her.

The new series, Syndicate Masters, has the feel of Ms. Delta James' other unique series, with large cat shifters, but this one also mentions places you will read about in some of her other stories based in the UK area. 'The series will focus on four kingdoms—Ireland, Scotland, England, and Wales. Each area has a warlord that formed the Syndicate to restore all that had been lost.'

Joshua Knight is the head of the Tiamat Syndicate. While he has headquarters in London, his estate is in Devon and known as Arsalan. It had once been the ruins of a castle—but he purchased it and has brought it back to its glory—with some modernization. It set high atop a craggy cliff overlooking the city of Lion Head's Cove and the crashing sea. The name Arsalan is Muslim for lion or, more precisely, king of the jungle.

Peyton Cooper wanted answers, and since the paper refuses to give her assignment beyond fluff pieces, she has started her own in-depth look into the brutal death of an older prima ballerina, Dame Diana. When she talked with the paper, they insisted she give all her notes to a lead reporter. Now, she is going to confront Joshua Knight, a kingpin that she feels could be responsible. She enters the lion's den on her own, but she will be the one cornered before the day is over.

The story is a page-turning tale and a great addition to the series. Joshua Knight is a black lion shifter, and yes, he does have his illegal activities, but he is also a philanthropist. He also wants to know who killed Dame Diana but is shocked at how Peyton Cooper comes barging into his office. He'll have her escorted out, but as he leaves, he sees a red laser on her and saves her before the shot happens. She thinks someone was aiming for him, but he knows it was for her—but why. Now, Peyton is the 'guest' of Joshua at Arsalan. When a second near attack comes at his private home, he realizes that she is definitely the target.

"Yes, his mate had recognized her master, even if she'd yet to understand it."

Joshua: Do you have any idea who might have hired someone to kill you? The gunman was a professional with a sniper rifle and scope. You need to get that through your head. The sniper was there for you.

"The Yard has learned that it's best to follow my lead. In time, you will learn to do the same thing."

The story has the good, the bad, and the ugly. Joshua has known that Peyton was his mate since they were both members of Baker Street. She would never consent to scene with him, but he was bidding his time. He will keep her safe, even from herself and her foolishness. Why are the Bratva after her?

Joshua: Like with most things, people prefer the romantic illusion to the harsh reality.
Peyton: The only thing I'd like from you, Knight, is a train ticket or a ride back to London.
Joshua: You really seem to enjoy pushing that thorn into my paw.
Peyton: I don't enjoy it. I'm simply unwilling to play the cooperative and nice victim for you.

Now, she is in his home, and he will come up with a solution, one to protect him—and her. Will she consent to a D/s contract and marriage? Will this be the beginning of their future? When will Joshua share the secret of his pride?

I loved the chemistry between Joshua and Peyton. A dominance/submission lifestyle is no surprise for her; they both play at Baker Street in London. Submitting to Joshua comes easier than she anticipated. When the murder mystery of Dame Diana is solved, will they end their marriage? What will happen when Peyton discovers she is among lion shifters? Will she confront Joshua, or will she run, placing her life in danger? The story is a mystery with suspense, danger, angst, dominance, submission, and surprises.

“The Agreement” is the third book in the ‘Syndicate Masters’ series by Delta James. It’s a paranormal lion-shifter romance that combines elements of suspense, organized crime, and D/s in a story that has some unexpected twists and turns. It can definitely be read as a standalone.

Joshua is the king of the jungle that is London. He runs a vast network of legitimate and illegitimate businesses, provides employment and protection for hundreds of people, and is alpha to the lion-shifters of his pride. Peyton is a news reporter who always gets assigned the fluff pieces. She wants to be an investigative reporter and is determined to make that happen. After the brutal death of an aging ballerina, she’s convinced that Joshua had something to do with the murder, Peyton is determined to confront him and somehow get the truth about his involvement. Things get particularly complicated though, when it becomes apparent that somebody is trying to kill Peyton. Joshua knows that the two of them are destined to be together, and he’s determined to protect her, whether she likes it or not.

This was a fast-paced story with some excellent, unexpected developments. The dynamic between Joshua and Peyton is intense, as is the chemistry between them. A couple of things that happened at different parts of the book would’ve bothered me if I was Peyton, but hey, it’s fiction. Aside from those things, Joshua is surprisingly sensitive gangster/Dominant. There are excellent secondary characters in this story who add a lot to the overall experience. The next book in the series sounds so extra-unusual, I’m looking forward to whatever this author has for us.

Great ending to the series! With this story, Ms. James brings to a close the wonderful series, Masters of the Savoy. We’ve been on quite a journey with these couples. This story is more stand-alone than the others although the h does work at the Savoy. Our H is once again a paranormal creature, and not one that we see often in many shifter stories. “Release” is the 6th and final book in the ‘Masters of the Savoy’ series by Delta James. This book is a wonderfully creative blend of the paranormal, myths, legends, lore, history, curses, geocaching, a posh hotel and an elegant BDSM club. You can read and enjoy it as a standalone story, but you will get additional entertainment from it if you’re familiar with the books that came before.

Mazie is an expert in electronic surveillance and related matters. She uses her considerable skills in her job with the security office at the Savoy Hotel. In addition to her work, Mazie is a skilled player and an online geocaching game. At the time this story takes place, she is participating in a real-life version with teammates she’s never before met in person. Before he and his wife leave the country, the man who hired her gives her a sponsorship and guest pass to an exclusive lifestyle club in London.

Holden is a mysterious man with serious computer skills of his own. When he meets Mazie at the club he’s immediately attracted to her and intrigued by her as well. He’s a man of many secrets – some of them otherworldly. Once he gets involved with Mazie by being her Dom at the club, Holden is even more convinced that there is really a deeper connection between them. Did I mention he was already aware of her before he met her at the club? Not specifically. But that is one of his “many secrets” that I did mention he has.

Because this is a romance novel, you expect there will be some type of happy, satisfying conclusion. The story is so interesting and intense though, you might just forget that and be seriously worried about how it could possibly end well. Enjoy the author’s creativity, the chemistry between Mazie and Holden, the serious moments and the lighthearted ones as well. Be warned that after you read this, you may never look at architecture the same way again!

Ms. Delta James has penned a unique and page-turning series of paranormal events and characters intersecting with myth and a curse. The story is the sixth and final book in the series and can be read as a stand-alone. The story will have a few people from the previous books. Still, this one will mainly focus on Mazie Bridges, an electronic surveillance expert at the Savoy, and Holden Treymane, a mysterious man, and Dom at Baker Street.

Mazie Bridges is young but talented. When Scotland Yard did not accept her, Gabriel Watson at the Savoy hired her. Now, Gabe and Anne have emigrated to America, and before they did, they gifted Mazie with a guest pass and sponsorship to Baker Street if she decides to pursue a D/s lifestyle. Mazie has another sideline, playing an online game, Castle Reign, which she is a top player known as Knight Fury. She has formed an alliance, Phantom Guild, with three other players, Rook, Bishop, and Silent Knight, to join forces and compete in a real-life quest with a half-million US dollars prize.

Holden Treymane is centuries old, a foolish, entitled young man that one dalliance with a young maiden eventually led to her witch sister placing a curse upon him. Holden is an immortal, a man by night and a cursedborn gargoyle by day—frozen in a stone sarcophagus until the sunset. He has evolved over the centuries, and his technical abilities have allowed him to invest and make fortunes. Playing as Silent Knight in Castle Reign has allowed him to get to know several other top players.

“You who dimmed the light that shone. Shall be forever cast in stone. To watch by day and live by night. Your cursed life can only be undone. When your devotion to the Light has begun.”

“Holden often thought that becoming a gargoyle had made him a better man.”

The story’s plot will have a little history of how Holden was cursed by a witch centuries ago. It will bring them to the present-day, where he is also a Dom at Baker Street and will be introduced to Maize Bridges, a new sub. But, she is no mystery to Holden, who knows her also as Knight Fury in the online game Castle Reign. The chemistry between Holden and Maize is instant, and their scenes are an erotic dance in dominance and submission.

Holden: I’ll have to remember you like it dark.
Maize: I’ll take it any way you want to serve it.

Now, he has a new dilemma, the Phantom Guild is to meet in person—and he isn’t ready to reveal himself to Maize as one of the players. The story has the mystery of Holden avoiding the other players meeting him because he is concerned about how Maize will react now that they are involved at Baker Street. But, things will take a nasty turn when one of four is murdered. Now, Scotland Yard is involved, and the two females, Rook and Knight Fury are sequestered at the Savoy. As the story unfolds, there may be hope for Holden to escape the curse by Saoirse. The story has several moments of life and death danger and proves her trust that she will submit to Holden to save her even when Maize feels betrayed.

Saoirse: You know, there are those who say immortality would be a blessing.
Holden: They are wrong. To watch those you love grow old and die is no blessing. I’ve come to believe that the sweetest thing in the world would be to grow old alongside the woman I love and to die holding each other as we pass from this life to the next.
Saoirse: I that it that’s what you would like to do with Maize.
Holden: I would ask no more of this life than that.

The final story has matters of life and death due to greedy players who are willing to kill top players in Castle Reign to win. A strict, take control Dominant, some punishments, and sizzling hot explicit sex scenes. Throw in nasty gargoyles, a take-charge witch, and a strong submissive who finds the Dominant who is her love and Master—and the coveted happily ever after ending.

“He loved watching her enjoy what had become mundane to him. Mazie made everything right—bright, shiny, and new.”

“The Pact” is the second book in the ‘Syndicate Masters’ series by Delta James. Strong characters, drama, intrigue, passion and the paranormal excitement of shifters combine in this fast-paced story. You can read and enjoy this book as a standalone.

Lord Gavan Drummond is the head of the Gallogass Syndicate in Scotland. Although it’s a mafia and a criminal organization, he has his own strict moral code of right and wrong. He and his clan also have a huge ancestral secret . And, along with his vast array of properties, legitimate businesses, and not so legitimate businesses, he owns the majority interest in Club Termonn, a BDSM lifestyle club. Blaise Munro was orphaned when an accident killed her parents. She was raised by her maternal grandfather. He raised her with love and with his knowledge of the family business, the Kilted Fire distillery is on Isle of Skye in Scotland, which is also where Castle Cat-Sith is located – the ancestral home of Gavan Drummond.

A dramatic event in her life connects Gavan and Blaise in unexpected and complicated ways that increase the attraction between them from a low-key simmer to a blazing inferno. Additional drama reveals itself as unknown persons are after Blaise and her distillery. She and Gavan enter into an intense D/s relationship with wildly rough (but consensual) physical intimacy. I thought a few of the secondary characters were very good, particularly Vera, Hamish and Dougal. There is a nice balance of the predictable and the unexpected. There are also little entertaining nuggets of familiarity when mention is made of places or characters from other books in other series by the author. I’m looking forward to meeting the next Master in the Syndicate.

Bound: Masters of the Savoy Book 5

Delta has once again woven a genuine legend of London into her story line. Corinne comes from a long line of Protectors that stretches back to King Aurther’s time. Eddy is the last of Sage Matthew characters to make the leap to leave the Veil. Now, can the two of them work together to defeat the demon?

The Reluctant Retiree

There is a legend that when the Big Ben chimes thirteen times, the lions in Trafalgar Square will come alive to roam the City of London.

Corinne Adler, Night Concierge for the famed Savoy Hotel, knows just how wrong that legend is for each time Big Ben has struck thirteen, demons have tried to escape their prison in another realm. The responsibility of being Guardian of the Tower Clock has fallen to her, a duty which her family has served for almost two centuries.

Eddy Chastain is the last of the reoccurring characters in the erotic romance novels written by Sage Matthews. He is a hacker extraordinaire and prefers to remain deep within the pages of Sage’s books. But there is something about the Night Concierge of the Savoy that haunts him… a memory of sorts from a man whose creator never gave him much of a backstory.

When the stars align to cause Big Ben to strike thirteen, Corinne knows she and the lions must defeat the demons and keep the city safe. But the veil has become strained and the demons more clever. Can Eddy come to Corinne’s aid and keep the forces of evil at bay?

Ms. Delta James has penned a unique and page-turning series of paranormal events and characters intersect with myth and historical events. The story will have people from the previous books, but this one will mainly focus on Corinne Alder, Night Concierge at the Savoy, and Eddy Chastain, the hacker in Sage’s books. Once again, one of her characters will pierce the Veil and join the rest of them on Earth. The story is the fifth in the series, and while it could be read as a stand-alone, it would be better understood by reading the first three books in the series.

Corinne Alder has moved to London and, against her parent’s wishes, has reacquainted herself with her Aunt Peggy. When her Aunt’s caregiver called and said she was near the end, Corinne will rush over, and her Aunt had many important things to tell her—but is this delusional babble, or is what her Aunt telling her the truth?

“I have been given this gift of a period of lucidity before my end. You must listen to me. You must believe me. Promise me, Corinne. Promise me you will believe me and will continue studying with Holcroft. I swear to you, the stories, our family’s lineage, and legacy are true. You must pick up the sword and answer if destiny calls on you.”

“You are looking at Storm Shadow. She has been passed down through the female line of our family since the time of King Arthur. It is said that Merlin imbued the bow with the power of light and that it can defeat the darkness. The arrows have been made by the same family of fletchers since the Normans invaded England. Pick it up. Galatine has accepted you. Galatine is the sister sword of Excalibur. Each time the gateway into this world has started to crack, a woman from our family has acted as Sentinel and has called for the lions at the base of Nelson’s statue in Trafalgar. The Sentinel’s job is to keep the demons at bay and force any who try to make their way into this world back through the portal until it re-seals itself. The entryway will only be open for thirteen minutes and then it will close again. Swear to me you will answer the summons should it ever come.”

The story will involve several things, the death of Corinne’s Aunt and her inheriting historical weapons and a warning of what was to come. It will have Eddy realizing that something big is ready to happen, and Saoirse agrees. Eddy will need to pierce the Veil, the last main character in Sage’s books. Corinne has had many changes in her life; she is still working as a night concierge, has just finished her schooling for a doctorate, and accepts a part-time position at the National Gallery. After losing her Aunt and moving to Rachel’s flat, the most significant change will be when she meets Eddy, her favorite character in the Sage Matthew books.

I love how Eddy decides to be upfront with Corinne about each of his friends and how they came into existence, including some of the things they encountered. These two have chemistry, yet they don’t have the time to develop a deeper relationship with evil coming. It becomes a matter of trust, one of the most profound emotions two people can experience.

Holmes: She needs to look at you as her champion-the one guy who can shield her from the darkness—even if you aren’t sure it’s true. She needs you to be sure.
Eddy: In other words, she needs a Dom.
Holmes: No. She needs you to be her Dom.

The story has the good, the bad, and the evil. It will have Eddy leaving the Veil, not because of the others, but because of Corinne. As her protector, he has his role in this, and she quickly acquiesces to him. Someone in London is causing problems, and it is more apparent that Eddy needs to be there for Corinne—but also the group needs to be together. They have made their plans, and now they wait. Will Big Ben chime out thirteen times at midnight? Will Corinne and the others be ready for the demons who want to take control?

Corinne: I don’t want to be a superhero. I don’t want any of it—well, except maybe you. I do want you.
Eddy: You’re frightened and have every right to be. There’s nothing wrong with that. True courage comes when you are afraid and do what needs doing anyway. But you are no longer alone.
Corinne: I’m glad you decided to come through the Veil to join your friends.
Eddy: I didn’t come through the Veil for them. Mostly likely, I would have remained behind the Veil until it was no more. I came through the Veil for you.

“She needed to learn from the first that he would lead, she would follow; he would dominate, and she would submit.”

The story has matters of life and death due to paranormal entities, some violence, a strict, take control Dominant, some punishments, and sizzling hot explicit sex scenes. It does not end on a cliffhanger but gives the reader a satisfying conclusion. I love how Ms. Delta James can take myth, history, and present-day and merge them into a page-turning tale. The final story in the series, Release, will release on March 10th.

Touch of Destiny: Fated Legacy Book 5

This is such a fantastic ending to the series. Piper and Remy have known what they are to each other for years. Unfortunately a decision he made when they were both much younger has come back to bite him. This plays out almost as a “Second Chance” romance. Another great series comes to an end. Remy finally claimed his fated mate Piper. At first Remy believed he had nothing to offer Piper that is why he left to become a Navy Seal leaving behind a broken heart Piper. But loved won out in the end. As they defeated the darkness that was set on destroying Remy’s family. Great story. I enjoyed this series very much. It was great to read about the parents in the Wayward Mate and the Tangled Vines series but to read about the children all grown up and finding their fated mates just makes you go aww 🥰. Great job Delta James.

This is the fifth and final book in the Fated Legacy series. It's a fast-paced and continuation from the previous book that will keep you engaged from start to finish.
The year is 2048 and what started in New where a dark evil entity was on the loose and is now moving around the globe looking for a body to attach t itself to. The "Darkness" continues to rain havoc and the battle against it continues to grow. Now the "Darkness" has returned and is ready to obliterate the one thing it hates most: the H pack.
OMG! What a fitting ending to this series. This is the H and h story to save Riviere Du Loop and the shifters. But they need help....all the characters from the first four books are all brought together to plot and plan the fight against the "Darkness". Do they win?
Read to find out what happens.

I always dread when a series is complete. I miss the characters from all the books. But this books brings them all back together and I get to say a fond farewell and hope to read about them again. Remy intrigued me from the start. Where will he fit in, who will he find is his fated….all was answered in the best way. I loved this series as I did the one with their parents earlier.

The series is an ongoing saga, and this is the sixth and final story. I love that we see the next generation—the offspring of those from Wayward Mates and Tangled Vines—but we also get to catch up with the couples from the first two series. The story begins in 2028 with seven-year-old Piper Nichols and her mother chatting about her abilities and love of the ranch land. It picks up in 2039, she is grown up, and they are at a party where Rémy Gautier is preparing to leave and go into the Navy as a SEAL. Both Piper and Rémy know they are fated mates, but they are young, and he leaves anyway, leaving Piper broken-hearted and determined not to let another male wolf hurt her. The main story takes place in 2048 and moves around the globe.

“Sometimes, a clever she-wolf will not show all she can do. Keep something in reserve that no one knows about in case you ever need it.”

“Make him sweat, make him work to earn your love. Then, if you still feel about him the way I think you do, graciously forgive him and hold it over his head for the rest of his life.”

As this series saga has unfolded, it is a battle of good versus darkness. The Darkness is returning to New Orleans, growing more powerful, and intended to destroy the Gautier family. With the joining of so many fated mates, and unique abilities and powers, they are preparing for a final battle, one they must win. First, the last two unmated children, Rémy Gautier and Piper Nichols must take their vows, but Piper has been hurt, bitter, and angry. She won’t just lie down and accept her fate easily; she is determined that Rémy needs to pay for the pain and heartache he caused her. She runs from him—but he follows her.

“On a good day, Piper was the sexiest she-wolf that ever walked the face of the earth, but when she fought dirty, oh yeah, that really did it for him. It meant he could unleash his own beast to claim her. She was his perfect mate—the yin to his yang, the soft to his hard.”

The story’s plot is the relationship between Rémy and Piper, but it is also how the various couples must pull together to overcome The Darkness, not just to slow it down but to destroy it for good. It is plotting and planning, and it will include several couples to make it happen. One, being, Rémy, and Piper. Timing and unity are crucial for it to happen.

I loved the chemistry between Rémy and Piper—they both know they are fated mates, yet it is a decade before they get together. Piper was hurt and has held onto that anger of rejection that Rémy must work through. Once she knows he is here to stay, he isn’t leaving her and even accepts her help; they find happiness.

Rémy: I am the wolf who was born to take you in hand.
Piper: And what does that make me?
Rémy: The she-wolf who was born to rule my heart and soul.

The good, the bad, and the evil finalize this last book in the series. As we all know will happen, Good wins over Darkness, but it is because of unity and love. I don’t know if Ms. Delta James will do another spin-off from this series, but a few things within the story gives this reader hope that she will.

“I am here, my beloved. I will always be here.

The Joy of “Connected” Series

If you don’t know by now, you should. I love book series. I started very young when I first stumbled upon The Black Stallion series by Walter Farley. This series ignited my love of books. It also led me to other short book series.

Somewhere along the line, I started reading “The Dragonriders of Pern” series by Anne McCaffrey. Between what Ms. McCaffrey has written, and the ones written by her son, Todd McCaffrey, this series currently stands at 25 books. Ms. McCaffrey has written several other series, but it seems that none of them connect to the others in any way.

Anna Lowe has also written several series, Twin Moon Ranch, Blue Moon Saloon, Aloha Shifters: Jewels of the Heart, Aloha Shifters: Pearls of Desire, and Billionaires and Bodyguards. While characters from one series are mentioned in the next, there is no real interplay between the two. So not exactly what I call “connected.”

So what do I mean by “Connected?”

I’m going to use the books of Delta James as my examples. Her books were what started me on this quest. Ms. James has written a number of series, some of which are obviously connected, others are not so obviously connected.

A prevalent theme throughout her books is the Dominant/submissive (D/s) theme. Keep that in mind during this discussion. There are things and places mentioned in almost all of her books that are tied to other books. This is the type of connection I am talking about.

In the Wayward Mates series, we are introduced to 9 strong-willed she-wolves (women) and the males who love them. I would say “alphas” but Nick from Claiming His Mate isn’t an alpha, he’s the pack Beta. None of these couples embrace the D/s dynamic but Marco DeMedici and the Florence pack own the club, Dante’s, in Florence, Italy. We learn this little fact in “In Vino Veritas

The next series is “Tangled Vines” and its Prequel, “Corked.” In the prequel is where the brothers, Damien and Linc Steele, buy the small boutique hotel and famed BDSM club, Torch Light” to renovate. Linc and his mate, Grace live a D/s life 24/7. Damian meets his mate in Uncorked with the help of Marco Demedici. As the series continues onward, more couples embrace the D/s dynamic in their lives. We also see them crossing paths and pursuing connections with the alphas from Wayward Mates.

Fated Legacy is a series that introduces us to the adult children of the couples from both Wayward Mates and Tangled Vines. Set 40 years after the two series, the new generation battles an evil force called the “Darkness” thought to have been vanquished by Jean Lafitte, the original alpha of the New Orleans pack. In this series, we are taken to the London club, Baker Street.

Now, I had to check this out and actually ask Ms James, but it turns out that Baker Street is owned by the Cerebus Group from Mercenary Masters! This is actually the first club in the group. You may or may not be surprised to find out that this group are all humans. Nevertheless, the players freely interact in each other’s series.

This club also features prominently in the current series, Masters of the Savoy. As a side note, the opening story, “Advance” has an interesting history. It began life as a story in the 2020 anthology Dirty Daddies. Expanded and rereleased as Best Seller, it was once again re-edited and found its place as the opening story in this paranormal mystery series.

The final set of connections that I’ve traced is to the stories of “Alpha Lords.” This series is set in the post-apocalyptic future and feature the packs of Calon ‘Onest and Ravenscar, among others.

It’s the many connections like these that keep my mind interested and involved with a story. See what connections you can find in your favorite series!

Welcome to the opulent world of the Masters of the Savoy, where the men and women might be a little different – more than human. The men appeared out of nowhere one day determined to grab life and look for love. But watch out … you never know what darkness lurks in the shadows.

The more I read by this author, the more I find myself appreciating the sheer amount of research that she puts into each book. She researches not only the places, but the people as well. With this fourth book in the series, we are introduced to yet another historical figure. While the prince doesn’t appear himself, other historical characters from around him do. It’s fabulous.

5.0 out of 5 stars THE IRISH WITCH AND THE SAVOY CONCIERGE
Reviewed in the United States on December 30, 2021
Ms. Delta James has penned a unique and page-turning series of paranormal events and characters that intersect with historical events. The story will have people from the previous books, but this one will mainly focus on Saoirse Madigan, an Irish witch, and Felix Spenser, the head concierge of the Savoy. The story is the fourth in the series, and while it could be read as a stand-alone, it would be better understood by reading the first three books in the series.

Saoirse has been in London, where she felt that she was needed, and she was, helping free Anne Boelyn from her state of limbo at the Tower of London. During her time in London, she stays at the Savoy, where she has become friends with Felix, and others that either work or live at the Savoy. There is a flirtation between Saoirse and Felix, who she would prefer to call Spense, for some time, but in this story, they will take things from friends to lovers. Spense is dominant, and while Saorise isn’t naïve to a dominant-submissive relationship, she had a very negative experience with her ex-husband. Her complete trust in Spense will turn her feelings around about a D/s relationship.

Saoirse: I’m not your sub or romantic partner.
Spense: Not at the moment, but the future is rarely static.

The story’s plot will revolve around the Savoy ghost, a young girl wearing a yellow dress that would fit the Victorian era. Saoirse has encountered the ghost since she was a young child, but now she will speak to Saoirse with a riddle.

“They did not search for those who died;
The chapel bell did not knell;
When the Irish witch can answer why,
Then our spirits will arise from Hell
And with the King of Kings we will abide.”

The story will have the four couples working on the history and trying to determine who the little girl is, how she died, why she is trapped on Earth, and how Saoirse can free her. But it turns out; it isn’t one little girl; it is five, and evil surrounds their demise.

The story is also about the newly formed relationship between Spense and Saoirse, where she is learning that not all men are like her ex. Spense is dominant but loving, showing her D/s isn’t about him, but them. Saoirse knows that Spense, Gabe, and Roark all came from the pages of Sage’s well-known novels, but then Anne was a Queen. The relationships between the four couples are strong, and they each have faced some form of terror. Saoirse will be a catalyst for helping innocent souls find their peace in the Light. Can she use her magick and powers for good and help banish evil?

Spense: Perhaps I’m the man who came through the Veil to protect you so you could work your magick.
Saoirse: I think you’re right about your fate. I think you came through the Veil to protect me. I’m awfully glad I am your destiny.

“She’d been waiting her whole life for him to step out of a manuscript and become her perfect lover.”

The story has matters of life and death due to paranormal entities, a strict, take control Dominant, some punishments, and sizzling hot explicit sex scenes. It does not end on a cliffhanger but gives the reader a satisfying conclusion. And it won’t be the end in this series; there are at least two more books.

I just finished reading Contract by Delta James and again it was one of those books that once you start it is so hard to put down. This series is one of my favorites by this author. It has everything I enjoy in a good book. A little historical, mystery, suspense and of course a great love story. Saoirse and Spense are the perfect characters for this story, there backgrounds are so interesting and just adds to the fun of reading this book. I received a copy of this book to review and the opinions expressed are my own.

Touch of Ice: Fated Legacy Book 4

I struggled with this one. It’s well written, both main characters are great, but… The heroine is decidedly strong-willed and is a missing piece of the puzzle that is needed to finally get rid of the Darkness, but ….. There’s just something that isn’t sitting so well with me.

Book Blurb:

The Darkness has never seen anything like me.

I have been rejected my whole life because I am a sorceress and a wolf-shifter. I have only shifted a few times in my life. I live outside of the closest pack on unclaimed land and have worked hard to make a life for myself in a small village in the Outer Hebrides.

Branson Norris is the son of the Alpha of Ravenscar and the Madonna of the North. He’s a man who is celebrated for his family and his accomplishments; he thinks he can claim me as his fated mate.

He is willing to take on the Darkness and the Ruling Council when they try to intervene. He will stop at nothing to claim what he thinks is his.

We must face the Darkness together to begin understanding the evil that is stalking our world.

I loved this story!! Renata’s character has a rough start in life but definitely overcomes that! Bran has everything he could want except a fated mate. The two of these characters come alive when your reading this book! The emotional ride of their romance sucks you in to enjoy it also. And as you know, the path to a fated mate is never truly very easy. The loneliness and seclusion is not a good thing for anyone. For this writer to actually convey such feelings makes such a wonderful read!! Of course, the HEA is an absolute rewarding thing of beauty. I love this series that Delta James has created is just so detailed that I feel as the reader that I’m actually have stepped into that story. I definitely recommend if you like a good book!!

I reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

We are getting closer to the end. They have found their sorceress. Renata is both a wolf shifter and a sorceress. She has been raised outside of the packs, so she is at a loss when dealing with an alpha. Branson is an alpha and he has found his mate in Renata.

This is a wonderfully complex book. The author skillfully weaves all the different threads together to give us a better picture. This is not the last book in the series, that is still coming. I loved the HEA for Renata and Branson and am looking forward to the next book.

I received this book as am Advanced Reader Copy and this is my honest opinion.

Submission: Masters of the Savoy Book 3

Another Historical Figure Appears!

Ms. James has obviously done her homework as another historical figure makes her appearance. The series already features multiple names from the beloved Sherlock Holmes series, but now someone who truly live appears!

None other the Henry VIII’s second wife, Anne Boleyn. We are taken from her tragic death in 1536 to current times when she runs into Saoirse who recognizes who and what she is. One thing leads to another and Anne comes to the famous Savoy hotel where she meets Gabriel. Hmmmmmmm…..

Book Blurb:

She has watched through the veil for centuries… now it’s her time to escape.

Denied her happily ever after, Anne Hastings has waited almost five centuries to pierce the veil and find one for herself.

Gabriel Watson suspects Anne is in trouble when he sees Anne entering the Savoy with Rachel’s friend, Saoirse. He wants to know who she is, why she’s checking into the hotel with no luggage and why she’s meeting with an infamous forger?

His friends Roark and Holmes have settled down with two beautiful mischief makers. Gabe figures whatever they’re up to with Anne can’t be good. And he’s right. Anne is on the run from two men who will do whatever it takes to drag Anne back—the Warder of the Veil and the Angel of Death.

Gabe has to solve the mystery that surrounds Anne before she is pulled back into eternal darkness and torment. But time is running out.
