Yes, this is an actual quote from the last page of my book. Believe me, Ms. James lives up to that statement. It is not hype! Sensual, explicit, arousing and entertaining are only a few of the ways to describe her books. This book was formerly “Forever Finn” because the most poignant and significant proclamations in the book is “Always and forever, Finn. Always and forever.” Who wouldn’t love a book where the man is over-the-moon in love with his woman? In reality, his treatment of her as a customer could have been abuse and lawsuit-worthy. 🤓 But I LOVED it.
Finlay Reid aka Finn is on a mission to save her brother from kidnappers but needs the assistance of a good tracker to get where she needs to meet them in the Grand Canyon. Enter Billy Crofton aka Croft of the Wild Mustang Security Firm. He senses something more at play here but can’t quite figure it out. Problem is he is attracted to her physically if he can overlook her snark. He, like the rest of the Wild Mustangs is into spanking discipline and she is just too outspoken. But then again, he wants a woman “who is his equal, who is willing to yield to his authority.” Could she? Would she? Whoa…her first spanking and its result. 😜
There is intrigue, spanking and what follows, humor, more spanking and what follows, and an intro to Noah. I want to read Noah…he’s gruff and no-nonsense. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book and it comes highly recommended for readers who enjoy what happens AFTER the spanking. 😉

This is supposed to be an expanded version of Forever Finn, which I read in 2019. If I am being completely honest, if there is a difference between the two books, I didn't notice it. That being said, I will stick with my review from Forever Finn, which is below.

I don't know if it is Delta James intention, but her books always make me think. I love that her female leads are strong, intelligent, and independent women, and Finn is no different. One thing that is so intriguing is the quandary she has about whether she can submit to Croft, and if there is something wrong if she does.

I also appreciated that Croft and Finn's instalove or Insta connection was acknowledged upfront and discussed by the characters.

This book had its fair share of action, intrigue, and suspense. Any time spent with the team from the Wild Mustang Security firm is going to be fraught with dominant males, strong women, adventure, danger, witty banter, love, friendship, loyalty, and lots of laughs. Don't forget the romance, sometimes intense steamy scenes, and the spankings. If any of these things are offensive to you, take a pass on this book.

One thing that bothered me was the way the Christopher and Finn situation was resolved. I really thought there would be more. I am never opposed to an epilogue.

This second book in the series has Finn hiring the Mustang Security Firm to help find her "lost" brother, who isn't really lost, but has actually been kidnapped and needs to be rescued. Croft, an ex Navy Seal,is assigned to help her out and is not very pleased when he finds out he has been lied to. This leads to Finn's first lesson in what happens when Croft is deceived or his instructions are ignored. But of course, Finn, being the independent, stubborn woman that she is, is undetoured and continues with her reckless and defiant ways, leading to many punishments for her and many adventures and problems for both of them, as well as steamy romance, because this is after all a Delta James book.This book can stand alone, but as in all of Delta's series, characters from the previous book are included, so reading them in order will definitely heighten your enjoyment.

Review – Savage Mate: Mystic River Shifters Book 2

The first time she saw him he was coming out of the river… Oh! what a view.

FIND SOLACE IN HIS EMBRACE

The story is part of the new Mystic River Shifters. It will have a great cast of characters, including humans and shifters. The two main characters will be Dr. Autumn Bradley, a veterinarian from Seattle, and Sheriff Jackson ‘Jax’ Miller of the town of Mystic River on Kodiak Island, Alaska.

The story’s plot will have Autumn and her fiancé, Porter Martin, III, on Kodiak Island to celebrate Autumn’s birthday. They will have a falling out, and she realizes that he isn’t the man for her. She will give him back his ring and take off on one of the trails, and Porter will leave the island. It isn’t until he is contacted by the rangers from the National Forest Service that they realize he has abandoned Autumn and she is missing. They will contact Jax, one of the best trackers, to find her—especially with a storm system approaching.

Kodiak Island, Alaska is home to all kinds of shifters, one of which is Jax, a Kodiak bear; his deputy, Kyra, is a lynx; and his friend, Ash, a park ranger, a wolf shifter. Ash will contact Jax to search for Autumn.

“I’d best start looking for our little runaway.”

The story has mystery, suspense, danger, and a lone Kodiak bear realizing this little human is his fated mate. He will protect her from a dangerous predatory, spank her for her behavior, gets her to his cave, and keep her safe.

OK. Right off I must say sometimes these books can bother me, and not in a good way because I want the woman to be strong too. Because that is exactly what Willa is most definitely, this book is saved in my opinion. Willa turns all warm and gooey when Mac swats her a** and then…flash, bang, fireworks!
Willa and Mac meet by chance, have a substantial fling where he actually moves to live on her ranch, but he gets a promotion on the other side of the country. They part ways and then he has an opportunity to return five years later. This is where our story takes place. We get lots of sizzle starting on page one.
Mac is US Marshal Ethan McDaniel in Fugitive Retrieval and as such has been tasked to get back Simon Eastwick, a wife killer. Mac is back to get his fugitive and his woman. Can he do both? After five years will the strong-willed Willa accept his return? Along the way we get some terrifically steamy moments. Love the ending.
If the daddy dom trope doesn’t work for you, pass this book on by, but I truly enjoyed it once I accepted that Willa really wants to submit to his authority and likes getting spanked. There is no humiliation or shaming involved in Mac’s dom or I would have stopped reading.

I really enjoyed Mac and Willa's story. The plot was well written with no plot holes that I caught. All the characters were interesting and we'll rounded.

There were only a few things that bothered me. The begining of the story was a bit jumpy it was a little confusing to get the time line. Once you got into the main story every flowed well. I would have liked to have seen a little more character growth on both Mac's and Willa's parts. Willa I would have liked for her to come to terms with needing help and submitting to Mac. On the other hand I felt like Mac never really acknowledged the difficulty Willa was having to submitting mentally. Physically yes she did but mentally it was really hard for her. I would have liked him to really have helped her through it rather than just strong arming her. Yes he was dominant but he wasn't being a very good dominant when he ignored her troubles.

Overall, though, an enjoyable sexy story with some real humor in it.

The story is a fast-paced, action-packed adventure—including danger and suspense. Also, this story will kick off another new series by Ms. Delta James, Mercenary Masters: Club Southside which takes place in Chicago.

The story starts in Kunar Province, Afghanistan, with Chelsea Mason there doing an investigation for the UN. She will be captured and held prisoner but not rescued by the USA. Instead, she is rescued by JJ and taken to Baker Street in London. There she will meet up with Master Adam Wheldon, who decides to dictate to Chelsea what she may and may not do. What a surprise to her when he comes into her room and things heat up.

The story will move quickly with years going by to the present day, where Chelsea and Adam are guests at Red Hills Resort in Colorado. For Adam, it is a working trip, but it will also be a celebration of their tenth anniversary. As with all of Delta’s books, there is plenty of erotic chemistry, passion, and explicit scenes.

Be sure to continue the Mercenary Masters: Club Southside with the first book, The Scoundrel—releasing February 17, 2023, featuring Kingston and Samantha.

Stopping for dinner he sees Mandy Adams spread over a table playing pool. He is instantly infatuated with her and let's his lust take over. He is driven in his pursuit of her and Mandy is overwhelmed by his dominance. The sex is off the charts but his rules and over abundance of spankings tend to be overbearing. I'm surprised Mandy was not permanently damaged by the end of their courtship. It is a quick read and was gifted to the reader. It is not my favorite book by this author. I enjoy Ms. James books when there is more storyline and the characters are more evolved.

Nothing is more satisfying than relaxing while reading a shifter story by Ms. James.
This cracker of a story was fast-paced, action-packed, and had a solid storyline. The
characters were well-developed and realistic despite their paranormal abilities.

Jace was progressive in his attitude to his mate. Their link was established before they
met. A powerful Panther shifter and alpha to his clan. Head of the Carlos syndicate. He
connected with Lauren through Dreamtime on an astral level. He was content with the
knowledge that he would recognize his fated mate on sight and did not actively seek her
out. Once Jace found Lauren and her vixens, he offer them the protection of his clan.

Jace plagued Lauren’s dreams. His presence soothed her and left her feeling content.
Lauren and her small group of vixens turned to stealing to gain independence. This put her in the firing line of the Albanian mob. Keeping them safe took its toll. I feel that Lauren danced on a fine edge of fear and vulnerability, and was happy to hand the
responsibility over to Jace.

I loved this story with its larger-than-life characters. I liked the twist and turns that kept me glued to the pages. Entertaining from start to finish.

While the story is part of the Syndicate Masters: Eastern Seaboard, it will read as a stand-alone story. The story was set up at the end of High Stakes and I was fascinated with what little teaser was shared. The story did not disappoint this reader. I loved the characters and their interactions. I loved how Jace and Lauren had a deep connection before they met—even if it began in the dream world. The role that Lauren acquired as Alpha of a rogue band of vixens was never her intent, but she took her responsibilities seriously and did the best she could.

“You can’t hide forever little one. The link between us is growing stronger, and in the end, it will lead me to you.”

The story is full of mystery, suspense, danger, intrigue, and yes, definitely romance. I love the chemistry between Jace and Lauren and really hated to see their story end. The story has the good, the bad, and the evil in people and shifters. But, gladly, those who deserve retribution for their evil ways will find it in the end. Jace never really forces Lauren to accept his claim of fated mates—because they had shared on a higher plain with their erotic shared dreams. I think she was shocked to actually find him in person, and running away, but that won’t stop him from finding her. Every girl needs a strong man in her corner—even if she doesn’t think she does. I think that with all the responsibilities and burdens of leading the other vixens, giving over control to Jace was liberating.

“Be careful what you wish for, little one. You have a deal.”

When Jace and his soldiers come to the aid of Lauren and her vixens, they are kind, with reasonable options and solutions. There was no force, only realistic acquisition of the girls.
Lauren: Do I have a choice?

Jace: You always have choices, Lauren. It’s just that today I’m the best choice out of what I’m sure you see as a lot of bad options.

“Make no mistake, Lauren, you belong to me—heart, mind, body, and soul.”

Lauren: You’re impossible.

What happens when evil comes to destroy? Has Lauren’s determination to make a stand from her skulk become her downfall? What will Jace do—or his team?

The story does have an epilogue—and the end of it is a setup for another book—probably another series.

Wonderful contemporary western tale. I didn’t read the first edition of this book but I definitely enjoyed reading this rewrite of it. To see familiar characters from the Wild Mustang Security series was a wonderful addition. Well done!

I was impressed with this contemporary western story by Ms. Delta James, and it kept my attention and the pages turning as the tale unfolds. The story is full of mystery, suspense, murder, theft, angst, and passion. The tale takes the reader on a roller-coast ride of emotions, action, and adventure in this life and death story. Seeing that this is the first book in a series, I am already anticipating the next book. The story has a great cast of characters, and interactions, along with an intriguing storyline.

Multiple world champion equestrienne, Etta Ross, is passionate about many things, and that includes saving the wild mustangs that she knows are being captured, transported to Mexico, and sold to slaughterhouses. She can’t just allow that to happen, and along with her champion horse, she will attempt to rescue and lead a group of mares and fouls to safety.

Texas Ranger, Brody Jensen is concerned about the tire tracks he found, especially considering that there is a weight difference in the coming and going tracks. Going back to the area he will find Etta Ross on foot, but she has been shot in the shoulder. Dealing with her belligerent attitude, sassy mouth, and refusal of medical care will have him forcing the issue, including telling her he will arrest her. Learning that she knows the ringleader and that he also has her prized horse, adds to this case.

The plot will take the issue of the Mustangs to a more sinister level of crime. Etta won’t leave well enough alone and allow the Rangers to do their own investigating and Brody will take her to task. True to his word, he is going to punish her and then claim her.

The story will keep the reader on the edge of their seat as the Rangers uncover more about the rounding up of the wild mustangs. Taking Etta’s highly insured prized horse makes it grand theft, and there will be offers of deals being made. But is that going to be enough to keep Etta safe? Etta comes from a line of well-known great-grandparents, and she was brought up to ride, fight, hold her own, and shoot, and when she does shoot, she hits her target.

Brody is keeping her at his home and not allowing her to leave and there are many spankings to keep her in line. He has never had a woman he wanted, and his wild cowgirl has proven to be a spunky, sassy, handful, but he is determined she will be his. If he isn’t spanking her, putting her in the corner, he is making love to her until she doesn’t want to leave.

The story is one of power exchange and has many spankings, including using a belt, and explicit sex scenes.

Note: I previously read the story by this author when she previously released it under a different pen name. I have been a fan of her books from the beginning.

This contemporary western romance story by Ms. James is filled with danger,
action, suspense, a dominant male, and a feisty spitfire who puts her love of
saving wild Mustangs before her safety. Enter Texas ranger Brody Jensen who
was determined to keep Etta safe no matter how many times she ends up over
his knees. The relationship between Brody and Etta developed quickly, too quickly for Etta to accept initially. Despite her adversity to Brody’s methods to keep her safe, she could not deny how much she enjoyed the intense pleasure that followed his discipline. Etta was a spitfire but there never a doubt that Brody was in control.
He wanted to possess her body and soul. Etta was an interesting character. She did not like to be told what to do but thrived on it. She continued to try Brody’s patience with her impulsive, dangerous behavior but this earned her painful consequences.
Brody was the entire package. Protective, dominant, warm, and confident. I admired how he always put Etta’s safety first and foremost.

I am not sure why I was expecting a shifter romance. Delta James has written a number of non-shifter romances. I was pleasantly surprised to find out this was one of her "fully human" romances, lol.

Brody and Etta's story had a nice amount of suspense. Behind the scenes, Etta was involved in similar work like Willa from Book 1 - Mac in The Wild Mustang series.

Etta was strong, independent, sassy, respected, and prone to putting herself in dangerous situations. I admired her fearlessness, while at the same time, thinking she was reckless. Brody was the typical dominant male believing strongly in discipline. He was also intelligent and respected in his own right.

There was instalove in this story, but it really didn't feel like it. I have to be honest. I can't remember if Brody and Etta had met previously, or if their meeting was a first time occurrence. It didn't feel like they didn't know one another.

Along with the suspense, there were elements of action and danger. I knew who was behind stealing the wild mustangs, but who was behind him? I still have questions. There was a whole mystery going on that would not have upset me had there were more details about it.

This was a fast paced read that I completed in one sitting. I am looking forward to the next book in the series. If dominant men, discipline spankings and detailed sex offend you, take a pass on this one.

Axel leads his clan and he loves it. He wants to find his fated mate because he understands it's time and he's ready. He even has a good idea who she is so he's delighted when he sees her in a bar. Tori is grieving the murder of her brother and is determined to avenge his death. She gets swept away when she meets Axel in a bar. The two of them find themselves in danger and have to solve a mystery to find their happily ever after.

Axel is an alpha, a gangster, the head of his clan, and he is trying to modernize his people (but only a little bit because he's still an "alpha"). I like that he was willing to let Tori get used to his world before he forced her to become a shifter. Tori is smart and capable. I like that she taught herself how to avenge her brother's death. They are a good couple. They do fall in love immediately and both accept that they are fated mates. The author did give an explanation for how they fall in love so fast.

I enjoyed this book. I think you can read this without reading the other books in the series but I would suggest reading the prior book first since the events take place at the same time. This is a contemporary romance that takes place in New Jersey.

The story is the second in the Syndicate Masters—Eastern Seaboard series. While it will mention some of the people from the first book, this book will read well as a stand-alone. The story will mainly focus on the two main characters, Axel Crane and Victoria ‘Tori’ Houghton.

The story will have some back story of Tori and her late brother David. It is his death that sets Tori in motion for revenge, and she begins to execute her plans. Axel knows it is time to lay claim to his fated mate—something that will make his clan very happy to see happen. When Tori and Axel meet and decide to have a hookup, they sizzle. Axel knows who she is, and she knows him and his reputation—but not that he is about to claim her. The erotic chemistry between them sizzles off the pages. I liked them together, but I will say that one scene was shocking but eventually resolved.

Tori: I’m not sure what to do with you, Axel.
Axel: I have a whole list of items I’d like to do with and to you.
Tori: Do I want to know what they are?
Axel: Depends on how lucky I’m going to get with you tonight.
Tori: Just tonight.

I would like the author to write an update novella on the other couples. In addition, James's stories need expanded in certain areas--Let the hero gangsters show some claws so the heroines can be the light to their dark and add some life or death drama at the climax. After the claiming, the story wraps up without a big ending. A big ending is needed in future books. This story was refreshingly entertaining and was set between New York
and Ireland. I enjoyed the cat-and-mouse game between Killian and
Carlyn. It was obvious that they were fated mates; the air crackled and
sparked between them. Killian had more patience than most Alphas
allowing Carlyn to follow her career as a reporter seeking answers to
her father's death. Killian did not overwhelm her until he took a bullet
meant for her. He was then possessive, protective, and determined to
make her his. Carolyn initially struggled when confronted with Killian
in all his glory but faced each challenge with playful enthusiasm. Her
initial attempts at shifting were laughable.

The story spanned ten years, with intrigue and danger set amongst a
background of horse racing. I thoroughly enjoyed this story by Ms. James,

OMG! 'Sea Dog' is the sixth book in Delta James' "Mercenary Masters" series and this one just left me with a feeling of giddiness in the pit of my stomach! Although this book can be read as a standalone, it's so much better if you've read the previous releases, then you'd be like those of us who have been trying to wait patiently for Sully and Nina's story, and man, was it worth the wait? You betcha. Suffice it to say, it took Nina breaking the agreement with Interpol and for Fitz to tell Sully he needed to "Get the girl in your bed, dominate the brat, and I’ll arrange it so she can live here… with you.” “Why would I do that? I have never given any indication…” his voice trailed off as Fitzwallace rolled his eyes. “Are you still telling yourself that? Good God, man, you follow her around with your tongue hanging out, practically drooling. And when you’re not looking, she looks at you like a starving hyena does with a nice juicy antelope laid out before it. A good short read but there are a couple of glaring questions she should have asked - 1. How did he know she was in danger? The answer is positively maddening. 2. What's his first name? The answer, when given on their wedding day, is something DJ must have researched a lot to make "Sully" a much better moniker. And I still hate Fitz. I just wanna slap him.

The story is a spin-off from the Masters of the Savoy series, where some of the characters have had cameo roles, like Nina Oletta, an international forger and hacker for hire, and Fitzwallace and JJ from Baker Street BDSM club and the Cerberus Group.

Nina Oletta was rescued by the Cerberus Group, who negotiated a deal with Interpol that kept her out of jail. But this part of being a good girl, keeping her nose clean, and being legit wasn’t working out for her.

“No, she had one more lucrative score, and then she would go underground, reinvent herself and go back to doing what she did best—creating beautiful new identities, including electronic histories to go with them. Time to go back to something a little sexier, a little more fun, and a lot more lucrative.”

The story’s plot will have Nina taking a cruise after hacking into systems and clearing the way. She is scheduled to meet a Bratva member who has had plastic surgery, left his family behind, and brought his young mistress. He is planning to start over, and he needs Nina to help him with his new identity. But he won’t be the only one starting over; she plans to disappear and find a new life somewhere else. But her plans aren’t as secretive as she suspects, and Fitzwallace will send Sully trying to stop the chain of events.

The story is a fabulous prequel to start this new series. I liked how Sully one-ups Nina and makes arrangements for better accommodations to keep her in his sights. His goal is to wine, dine, and bed her, to keep her safe—even from herself. What was to be a night of self-discovery in BDSM ends before it even begins. Nina will find herself in life and death danger, and her white knight will rescue her—but there is a price to pay. It will include dominance and submission, consensual punishment, and ends with pleasure.
Sully: You’re safe, Nina. Fitz is taking care of everything. Wyatt will pick us up in Genoa and transport us back to London.

Nina: It’s fine. However, you want to handle it. JJ says it’s always such a relief when she can just ask Fitz to deal with it. So please, Sully, will you deal with this for me?
