Killian did not overwhelm her until he took a bullet meant for her. He was then possessive, protective, and determined to make her his. OMG! 'Sea Dog' is the sixth book in Delta James' "Mercenary Masters" series and this one just left me with a feeling of giddiness in the pit of my stomach! Although this book can be read as a standalone, it's so much better if you've read the previous releases, then you'd be like those of us who have been trying to wait patiently for Sully and Nina's story, and man, was it worth the wait? You betcha. Suffice it to say, it took Nina breaking the agreement with Interpol and for Fitz to tell Sully he needed to "Get the girl in your bed, dominate the brat, and I’ll arrange it so she can live here… with you.” “Why would I do that? I have never given any indication…” his voice trailed off as Fitzwallace rolled his eyes. “Are you still telling yourself that? Good God, man, you follow her around with your tongue hanging out, practically drooling. The story is a spin-off from the Masters of the Savoy series, where some of the characters have had cameo roles, like Nina Oletta, an international forger and hacker for hire, and Fitzwallace and JJ from Baker Street BDSM club and the Cerberus Group.
Nina Oletta was rescued by the Cerberus Group, who negotiated a deal with Interpol that kept her out of jail. But this part of being a good girl, keeping her nose clean, and being legit wasn’t working out for her.
“No, she had one more lucrative score, and then she would go underground, reinvent herself and go back to doing what she did best—creating beautiful new identities, including electronic histories to go with them. The story’s plot will have Nina taking a cruise after hacking into systems and clearing the way. She is scheduled to meet a Bratva member who has had plastic surgery, left his family behind, and brought his young mistress. He is planning to start over, and he needs Nina to help him with his new identity. But he won’t be the only one starting over; she plans to disappear and find a new life somewhere else. But her plans aren’t as secretive as she suspects, and Fitzwallace will send Sully trying to stop the chain of events.
The story is a fabulous prequel to start this new series. I liked how Sully one-ups Nina and makes arrangements for better accommodations to keep her in his sights. His goal is to wine, dine, and bed her, to keep her safe—even from herself. What was to be a night of self-discovery in BDSM ends before it even begins. Nina will find herself in life and death danger, and her white knight will rescue her—but there is a price to pay. It will include dominance and submission, consensual punishment, and ends with pleasure.

If you’re familiar with the series, you’ll see a lot of familiar characters as the globetrotting Cerberus Group does its thing to battle evil in a wicked world. This is the fifth book in the 'Mercenary Masters Series' and Delta did another amazing job. Her ability to tell a story and peak your interest from the first pages is extraordinary. This book is no exception, it starts with us first meeting Mak and Wyatt in a war zone. Mak had played a prank on Wyatt and his bunk mates and then later that evening they find themselves at the same bar. Wyatt observes Mak hustling some fellow service men in darts. He knows these guys are arrogant asses with bad attitudes riding their daddy's shirt tails through their enlistments. As Mak takes them for the grand hustle of the evening, Wyatt warns her to be careful with her windfall and have somebody walk her out. Mak being the independent woman that she is, leaves on her own. Wyatt barely saves her from being gang raped. Wyatt decides to give Mak a lesson in safety using dominance and spankings to drive his point home. This is Mak's first experience in being dominated and realizes that she is extremely comfortable and aroused being a sub for Wyatt. They spend the night together and Wyatt must leave early in the morning for his deployment. He knows that he has feelings for Mak, so he leaves her a note wishing her well.
Fast forward seven years and Mak is back in the Middle East as an explosive expert. She finds that her way of releasing stress is to frequent BDSM clubs. She is now an alpha sub who enjoys an occasional whipping or spanking from a Dom but never participates in any type of intimacy or after care. Wyatt is now the pilot for the Cerberus Group and plays an important part in the successful rescue mission. While the rescue is taking place, Mak finds the opportunity to free herself and is successful in her escape into freedom. She is now on a mission of revenge to take down anyone and everyone that had anything to do with her kidnapping. Cerberus Group hears of Mak's escape and feels somewhat responsible for not helping her. What happens next has Wyatt and Mak back together where old feelings resurface and trouble is knocking.
I thought the plot was interesting and exciting. The characters were well written with depth and thought. The writing kept me on edge and I thought the book to be an amazing read. I wonder if this is the last of the series or if maybe Sully gets his chance at love??? I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
You cannot escape your fate, especially when dragons are involved.
Wonderful ending to the series. Cooper and Raine are a great couple. I really enjoyed watching them grow closer together.

The story is the third and final in the Reign of Fire trilogy. I think that it is, by far, my favorite of the three, maybe because I really like Raine and how she handled herself. Cooper and Raine have a huge difference of opinion and just clash from the beginning. The way he ‘tries’ to handle her only makes her angrier. Cooper McKinley has no finesse when talking to Raine, and it only irritates her.
Raine has felt lost since Aria and Eden fell in love. She travels to Alaska to consult with the town of Glacier about bringing Wildworks there to offer upscale guide services. Talking on the phone with Theo was promising but meeting the pilot in Fairbanks and being taken to the town, she isn’t so sure. Then to have Cooper dictate to her, telling Theo to take her phone and computer, makes her extremely upset. Enough that she plans to hike to another town.
The story has plenty of mystery, suspense, secrets, and surprises. Aria’s grandmother used to tell these stories about the Cherufe, but now she is hearing voices. But once she joins with Zafira and becomes a drakaina, she learns that Cooper believes her to be his eternal flame and fated mate. Not that she is willing to accept it.
“We will be one. Your destiny awaits you in the frozen north. Denali and the Ice Dragons need you to defeat the Cherufe.”
Cooper: You are my fated mate.
Raine: Which seems to mean everything to you. The answer to all questions. And yet, it means nothing to me. Nothing.

The story is a page-turner and full of angst between Cooper and Raine. She doesn’t capitulate to his demands—or wishes and shows she can hold her own. Her hurt with her friends will be mended and they will help her. The future is in her hands, Zafira has shared insight into the past and what must happen in the future. Getting Cooper to trust her, her training, and her skills, and allowing her to be part of eliminating the Cherufe is critical.

am going to be honest here. Raine was a difficult pill to swallow. I am used to the female main characters in Delta James' books being strong, intelligent, and independent. I am used them not easily giving in the the H's dominance. I am used to them using that strength and intelligence to get out of various situations.
What I am not used to is Raine's behavior. She was acting almost completely from a place of emotion, or I should say she was reacting. I am not saying Cooper was in the right here at all. He could have handled the situation better. I don't know that he deserved the physical assault she visited on him.
What bothered me is she gave no thought to her behavior, was not acting based on trying to find out any information that might be helpful, did not pause long enough to use her intelligence or try to be calculating in getting herself out of the situation. She was just a sheer ball of anger lashing out at anyone in her way.
Her being a red head was no excuse for her behavior. Not what she did to the Ice Dragon village or what she did to where Phantom Fire lived. Raine was just obnoxious.
It was hard to overcome my dislike of her until after she and Falkor were together. I still didn't like her, but I was able to lessen my dislike of her. Her behavior took away from the possible relationship with Cooper and diminished any romantic vibe. I don't feel like they were together enough to even try to establish a relationship.
The best part of the book was the training and the battle. I am looking forward to finding out more about Falkor. I would give this one 3.5 stars.

I absolutely was blown away by this book and feel it is the best of the 'Mercenary Masters' series. This is Sawyer and Rhiannon's story. When we first meet them they are on a mission for the Cerberus Group. Sawyer gets upset with an action taken by Rhiannon and administers his form of discipline. One thing leads to another and we soon have a dom/sub relationship with respect and love. Fast forward, on a new assignment something goes terribly wrong and Rhiannon is reluctantly left behind while the rest of the team escapes to safety. While in captivity, Rhiannon is tortured both mentally and physically. Restrains and whips are used as well as her being sexually assaulted. No one writes a villain as well as Ms. James and you can't help but hate Baddad Sayeed and his team of terroist. Rhiannon is rescued by the Cerberus Group right before being raped and is taken immediately to the hospital. During her hospital stay, Rhiannon is kept sedated so that her wounds are able to heal properly. No one is allowed to visit, giving Rhiannon too much time to think on her own and come up with wrong assessment of the situation at hand. Feeling like she has little to offer the world but her hunger for vengeance, she leaves on her own. The story continues years later with Rhiannon fine tuning her assassin techniques and her and Sawyer still pining for each other. The couple is given a unique opportunity to work together in helping a group of girls kidnapped by Bagdad Sayeed. What happens next is a thrilling adventure. We get to reconnect with past members and friends of the Cerberus Group. There is an abundance of action, conflict, espionage, and emotions that follows as well as some very hot🔥 sex. When a black ops rescue mission goes bad several months later, Rhiannon is captured by the enemy. She knows Sawyer and the rest of their team will come for her. She just needs to survive. When they do reach her, and get her to the hospital, she is in bad shape. The torture has left scars on her back and on her soul She believes she is damaged, and Sawyer won’t want her any more. She does not believe she will be able to be his submissive ever again. She escapes from the hospital and disappears. It takes years for Sawyer to find her again.
Fitz and Sawyer manipulate her into coming back onto their team, as a sniper. She is one of the best. She plans to enjoy the time she has with Sawyer, then fade back out, but he has other ideas. He will never let her go again, and once they come back together, it is as if no time has passed. Now they have the common goal of killing the man who had her tortured, and then on with the rest of their lives.
This book is the best of the series so far. Sawyer was lost without his love, and finding each other has made them both whole again. Rhiannon is one of the author’s signature feisty heroines who can take care of herself, and the fact that she allows Sawyer to take care of her is a testament to their love. Their HEA is years in the making and oh so sweet. I cannot recommend this one highly enough

Sawyer and Rhiannon have had an interest in each other since she joined their team and although very little is known about her life as a child, she has been a great asset to the team even though she is female and working in heavily combative area as the medic she shows no fear what-so-ever.
Rhiannon has a tendency to take action first and think of the consider the consequences later however, when any of her team are injured, she will let nothing stand in her way and on this one operation she is captured, tortured and left badly injured. She is also very badly beaten and nearly raped by the guards, she was also sexually assaulted and escapes from the hospital with taking her own vengeance in mind.
For nearly five years her team members and her Dom and the love of her life Sawyer have been trying to catch up with her but she is clever and seemingly always one step ahead and they feel as though they are constantly playing catch up, they will not give up on her no matter what it takes.
She is a very different woman from the medic that had been part of their team all those years before and she has spent her time catching up with those responsible for atrocities against women and children and she will not stop till the main culprit has paid the ultimate price.
A captivating read that will draw you in and hold your attention completely.

However, to Ms. James’ credit, her book blurb does refer to this as a rough romance, thus providing her readers with an option of choice. You may wonder why I continued reading this book? I was intrigued with her writing style and the suspense prong of her dual-prong plot. Her mastery at the literary devices of characterization, dual POV, dialog, and descriptive language allowed me to look passed the BDSM scenes and focus on the interplay between the characters. Once again, Ms. James did not disappoint me with her great storytelling. At the end of this book, I am determined to finish the series.

I absolutely loved this book. Delta drew me in on the first chapter and I could not put it down. This is book three of 'Mercenary Masters', and now my favorite of the series. Nigel and Olivia meet when paired up at an underground fencing match. Olivia wins the match by dirty tactics but underground fencing has few rules so Nigel accepts the defeat. Nigel is interested in the stunning Olivia but she refuses his advances thinking that he is too white bread for herself. Olivia plans on spending time with her friend JJ and enjoying JJ's BDSM club. She likes getting into sub space to let off steam and asked JJ to set up a club Dom for her. Nigel works in British Intelligence and sets up a surprise for Olivia at his friend's club. Olivia soon discovers that her Dom for the evening is non other than Nigel. Everything seems to be working out until the aftercare is to be administered. Olivia panics at the closeness and intimacy being offered by Nigel and uses her safe word to escape the situation. Olivia then finds herself in a jam when the friend she was to meet the next morning is murdered at the restaurant. Don't read this if you haven't read the prior 2 books. This wraps up a bunch of stuff and it completely overlaps the prior 2 stories.
Serena isn't looking for a man. She wants to exact revenge on the people that destroyed her family and killed her parents years ago. In order to fund her revenge, she runs a jewelry business that is just starting to gain some recognition and success. Aries is the head of the Lionheart Syndicate. He is stunned to discover that he has finally found is fated mate and she's human!
Right off the bat, you have to embrace with your whole self the idea that Serena is submissive and will just accept Aries as a dominant. Period. You have to just accept that they go from not knowing each other at all to love and devotion in an instant. Period. If you can't do that, don't read this.
Serena is the youngest Amato sister and often feels like her sisters treat her like a baby. During the course of the author doesn't really give Serena room to grow because the suggestion is that she is already strong. Aries is more of a sketch than an entire character. I was glad that his time in the military was included in his character development. The reader doesn't really see him interact with his people so there is no sense of how he leads other than he's not his father or uncle.
I felt like the author rushed one of the big conclusions of the story of the Amato sisters. Yay that they finally know who done them wrong all those years ago and everyone has paid for their crimes but it almost felt like an afterthought. I wanted the women to have their big BAM moment but instead, it was more of a reveal, reveal, reveal, and done moment. Another issue I had was that one of Aries' lieutenants really didn't like Serena at first. I wanted a moment of reckoning like her sisters got in their stories but all Serena got was the mention that the individual now likes her. Huh. Kind of lame in my opinion.
So why did I give this 4 stars if I wasn't really moved? Simply stated, I wanted the solution to the mystery of the Amato sisters and the readers get that. Period. This story takes place in Italy and the Carpathian mountains. It includes mention of and cameos by characters from prior books/other series but it's all related. I will read move from this author in the future because I have thoroughly enjoyed other books even if this one fell a little flat in my opinion.

The story has what we all come to know, love, and even expect within Ms. Delta James series, strong, dominant men and equally feisty females. You'll have power exchange, dominance, submission, control, and surrender. Secrets, mystery, suspense, good and evil, and shifters. I love the cat-and-mouse game between Aries and Serena--she thinks she can evade him, but she is definitely wrong.

The second book in this series La Cosa Nostra is steamy and full of action. I’ve been on the lookout for the ARC to be available via Booksprout and when I saw it I jumped at the opportunity.
Raffi/Rafaella and Nico are paired for an invitation only event at Dante’s. Nico recognizes her as his fated mate and is determined to break all the rules to find out who his anonymous sub is and where to find her when she disappears from his bed.
Raffi is on a mission - well really 2 missions - get justice for herself and her sisters from the people who murdered her parents and the woman who profited from putting them is horrible circumstances within the foster system; and stay out of Nico Falconeri’s grasp and bed! She recognizes he is the perfect man/Dom for her, but she doesn’t think she has time for live right now.
Raffi takes Nico for a wild adventure as she hides from him and his efforts to uncover who she is and where to find her. I love how close he is to finding her the entire time, but he doesn’t put all the clues together.
I loved how she captained the rescue effort for bringing Nico home and how easily she took control over the clan, caused absolute havoc for the men, and won everyone’s affection and love. I am disappointed this time period (approximately a week) is only described as having happened versus actually having it happen on the page. The storyline jumps from the dangerous situation after leaving Milan, to Nico’s e rescue. It sounds like what happened during the week Raffi was in control was an absolutely amazing adventure!.

'Feral Oath' is the second book in Delta James' "Syndicate Masters: La Cosa Nostra" series and it's riveting. The story opens up with an event at Dante's BDSM club for a celebration to be attended by invitation only. As a matter of fact, it's a masked event where each Dom has been assigned a sub who has either already played with that Dom or specifically requested to play with him. That's when we meet Nico Falconeri, aka the Predator of Palermo, who is the Jaguar shifter from Sicily. Not only that but his sub for the evening is none other than Rafaella, aka Raffi, Amato, aka La Pantera. Sparks fly, chemistry sizzles, and the scenes are hot as blue blazes but Raffi has made a solemn vow to follow the trail of who killed their parents, had the three sisters separated, thrown into three different foster homes, and sold their family home and possessions. She knows there's some kind of connection between her and Nico but she has convinced herself she doesn't have time for a relationship of any kind until her vow is fulfilled. Nico, on the other hand, knows she is his fated mate and doesn't intend to let her go but after falling asleep with the intention of claiming her the next morning, he wakes to an empty bed. The hunt is on and he intends to find her. There are a lot of twists and turns in this one with some secrets being revealed. Both of these characters are strong, alpha personalities in their own right … combined they're almost magical. This is a great read and now I can't wait for 'Defiant Vow' to come out.

The story is a great addition to this series, and while it doesn’t end on a cliffhanger, the epilogue is a setup for the next book, coming on October 6, 2022. The story does have scenes of dubious consent, dominance, submission, exhibition, and power exchange.

OMG! What a fitting ending to this series. In this story, the H is a white tiger (snow), leader of the Berserker Syndicate, Guardian of Gotland, a Dom and lives in Runestone, Sweden. The h is human and works for Lloyd's of London in their art theft and forgery division. She meets the H at the Baker Street BDSM club and....

Lars and Rhys had a rocky start, with him staking his claim from the jump. Rhys slipped away from him having no knowledge of her new self. She's searching for justice and if the authorities won't help her, she'll use her feminine wiles on the local gangster. Of course Lars cannot let her go, bringing her kicking and screaming into the fold. She challenges him at every turn, earning herself some hard time over his lap. Sensual and steamy as any DJ novel. The plot with the painting was intricately woven into the love story and had a satisfying ending. A good read indeed.

“Judgment” is book three in the ‘Syndicate Masters: Northern Lights’ series by Delta James. Although it’s part of a series, it can be read and enjoy it as a standalone story. It’s a paranormal romance that unfolds differently from most stories with shifters.
Lars Jakobsson and Rhys Donovan meet at a BDSM club in London. They scene together in a private room, and it’s an intense experience for both of them. Unbeknownst to Rhys, Lars is a tiger shifter. He recognizes her as being his fated mate. She’s human, though. Instead of talking to her about the situation, Lars decides to claim her and bites the back of her neck, an act that begins the process of transitioning her into a shifter. He doesn’t get her consent to do so. Rhys has no idea what he’s done, or even that the bite was much deeper than rough play. They both fall asleep after their encounter come on and when he awakens, he discovers she’s left him. It's a big problem because they never even exchanged names, and she has no idea she’s going to become a tiger shifter. There are lots of surprises in this story. Plus, Rhys has a missing sister who was working undercover with Interpol investigating Lars and his syndicate. The sisters were supposed to meet in another city, but only Rhys showed up. Now, someone is targeting Rhys.
Lars is the head of a massive criminal syndicate, but it seems that he it’s the only one who can help protect Rhys figure out what has happened to her sister, and who is targeting her. There is intense chemistry between Lars and Rhys, with the strong D/s dynamic this author is known for creating in the intimate scenes between leading characters. There are good secondary character, including the villains. The mystery is a solid one, and the solving of it is entertaining.
