This was more like a novella. The content seemed “jerky” for lack of a better word. The story, to me, didn’t gel. This is the story of Warr and Max. Max is the sister of Serena Kinn’s mate. Max is one of the generals in charge of the rebellion. They fight to keep the alien warriors at bay unknowing that the warriors there now are there to help them. The previous warriors had brutalized them horribly. Warr meets Max the night Kinn plans to kill himself to set his mate free. He catches her on the grounds of the Citadel there to help her sister escape. But, her sister decided to stay with her mate. The storyline could have been a little better. There are sexual scenes that may offend some readers.

This is the fourth book in the The Omega Collective series. It's a fast-paced and standalone book that will keep you engaged from start to finish.
This is a story about a h who is the general of the resistance and the H is an alien general determined to capture her and her group of omegas.
Read to find out what happens. I voluntarily reviewed this book and this review is my own opinion.

I loved this one! It was great getting to see Max figure out how her sister could have become a "traitor". I loved getting to see Max and Warr figure things out. She outsmarts him a few times and definitely shows what a warrior she is and it causes Warr to have to rethink some things. I loved how Warr didn't take away what she was capable of. This was different than the other books as Max had a reputation that couldn't be changed once they figured out it was a female and an Omega one at that. I loved getting to see Max's strength and the way that Warr respected it. He was able to accept her for who she was rather than really trying to change her. I loved the interactions between these two and how Max was such a bad*** throughout the whole story. I am super excited to continue to read books in this series and to get certain characters ones as well. I keep getting teased with Lord Tane's book and I can't wait for it to come around. This is the fourth book in the series and while it can be read as a standalone there are certain events and things about this world that would make more sense, resonate more, if the series had been read in order. Everything needed is in the story. There is plenty of action and intrigue throughout the story and a few twists thrown in as well. I can't wait to see where the series goes next and I really hope to get more of Warr and Max and to see what role Max will continue to play as a female Omega that is a great warrior and strategist.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
He’s everything she knows to fear… but the alien warrior is her one chance to survive.
Injured, lost, and on her own, Savannah is at breaking point when help finally arrives. His name is Rath, and he’s one of the enemy… only he doesn’t act like it. He’s sexy, gentle, and his touch makes her ache for things she’s never wanted before…
He’s one of the beasts that conquered Earth – a dangerous alien in the service of a cruel and powerful Overseer. If he claims her, she’ll lose everything. So why does she yearn for his touch?
Catching his mate was the easy part… keeping her will be the fight of his life.
When Rath discovers a rare female hiding in the wastelands he knows he has to save her. She’s weak, wounded, and his… even if she doesn’t know it yet.
The law says he cannot claim her. His enemies want her for themselves. Rules won’t stop Rath from claiming his mate, and no enemy will survive if they try to take her from him.
4.0 out of 5 stars An enjoyable sci-fi omegaverse romance.
Reviewed in the United States on May 25, 2021
The writing and editing of the ARC version of the manuscript was clean, with no typos that I found and well constructed sentences. The world building was competent, though not as vibrant as I prefer. The characterization was well done, with both hero and heroine being sympathetic individuals with nuance. The development of the romantic relationship was sweet and hot, with a heat level of three chili peppers. The plot was tight and exciting, and as a consequence the pacing was quick. There was low angst and high stakes throughout this novel, which tends to be one of my preferred narrative structures for a romance novel. This novel used the Alien Invasion trope, the Enemies to Lovers trope, and the Mating Bond trope. The world building was three stars. The plot and pacing were both four stars. The characterization and development of the romantic relationship were also four stars. I therefore rounded up and gave this novel a combined rating of four stars. This novel ended on a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger ending, so that was a big plus. I recommend this novel to readers who enjoy omegaverse romances with some sweetness. I look forward to reading the next book in this series when it releases. I plan to buy myself a keeper copy of this novel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved this sci-fi romance

The thing I like best about this book is the pure escapism. Yes, the scenes are described in vivid detail, but I could also get into the mindset of Savannah and Rath. POVs for the main characters are my favorite way of storytelling and both of these give us great insight into what they feel at the time and their past. Savannah is a strong independent woman in a tough situation. Rath is a gentle giant when it comes to Savannah but a mean MF when it comes to defending her. We get a little more about the Alphas and Omegas and the way they are supposed to interact, but this sweet sexy sci-fi short is basically a falling in love story in one of my favorite genres. Great read!

I’m thrilled to find out what happens to Savannah. She is strong and resourceful. She’s wary enough to spot potential traps, avoiding danger, though she does eventually slip up.
These books are intriguing. The differences between the two opposing groups of alphas are huge. The damage done by the first group created such adverse circumstances that the omegas fight every step of the way. I recommend you read these thrilling stories to learn how Alphas of the H’thor clan entice and captivate their feisty, determined, human omegas. Outstanding entertainment!

Savannah was taken from her mother Serena a while back. Serena is now with Var, Shield for the Lord. She was always taught to never be caught by aliens, to run, hide. But when she is caught by Rath, she is weak and in need of medical care. It takes a great deal for Rath to not take his omega but Savannah is different. They are not like their own. They are willful and stubborn. He has to build up trust with her for her to see no harm in him. I have to say the conversation in the tub. OMG was that so hot. Hell even I could think about what he said with my eyes closed. With Savannah’s past and the loss of her mother, or so she thought, made it hard for her to trust. But Rath showed kindness, love, and caring. There are times they were so close to seeing her mother but it finally worked out in the end. I am looking forward to reading about Kinn.
She’d do anything to find her daughter – even make a bargain with a beast.
Leia wants nothing to do with the aliens who invaded Earth. They’re powerful, dangerous creatures who are a threat to every surviving human, especially women like her.
When alien raiders take her daughter, she’s left with only one chance to see her again. Find one of the aliens and offer him a deal.
She never expected the beast she found would be the new Overseer’s personal bodyguard. And she never imagined what would happen when she agreed to be claimed by an alien warrior named Var…
He came to this planet as a conqueror – only to find a female who brought him to his knees.
Var’s orders were simple. Deal with a rogue warrior and protect the inhabitants of a human village. Then she ran into view…
Leia isn’t like any female he’s ever seen. She defies and confounds him, but there’s no mistaking what she is… his.

I'm not a fan of the "omegaverse" I find it distasteful to read about women that biologically cannot say no to sex even if the guy is forcing her. (Was that a polite enough way to phrase it?) I started this book with some reservation, however this Omega I am a fan of! She has spunk and can make the choice to surrender or not. There is still the biology thing and a heat cycle, but she is not helpless. Our hero Var, he doesn't just want to conquer her, he wants to earn her surrender. So refreshing for this genre! I can't wait for the next book.
As always Mina Carter and Susan Hayes do not disappoint.
5.0 out of 5 stars Sci-fi, fated mates, and a new “world” to experience
Reviewed in the United States on April 27, 2021
Drawn in from the very first sentence, I saw myself and all of the strong women I know in Leia. When these aliens think earth women will be subservient and obedient they have another thing coming. Var is one scary MF but he proves to Leia that not all of the Tolath are like the original aliens that invaded Earth, who sent omegas into hiding afraid for their lives.
This new “world” is set up in glimpses. First the village where Leia is found by Var. Var and his air bike. The Citadel where The Lord Overseer Tane and Var live. And because we’re not force fed the facts of the changes that have taken place the story flows well. I call it the “movie effect”, I can see the action in my mind. Oh, and there are just enough sexy times to spice up the tale. I won’t call it romance exactly because it is more like instinct taking over.
This is a great start to a new series, sexy sci-fi at it’s best. Can’t wait for Rath!
4.0 out of 5 stars An omegaverse story I actually liked.

Var is book 1 in a new collaborative series, The Omega Collective, by Mina Carter and Susan Hayes, and it is an 'omegaverse' style story. The book is written in third person omniscient from both leads' perspectives.
To be fair, I'm not huge on the omegaverse genre, but I did enjoy the book, so hats off to the ladies for managing that. The book takes place in the wake of the hostile takeover of earth by an alien species (Tolath) whose purpose is to use human females for breeding, since they don't have enough of their own (some weird genetic quirk). One faction of the Tolath did the initial invasion, but they then proceeded to abuse their new subjects, so a different faction has come and is finishing up the process of kicking them out (read that as killing them off). So this new group is at least not the monsters of the old regime, but the humans don't know that. What the Tolath don't know, is that their genetic tinkering failed to make humans docile like it has for previous species. This series will be about the two species learning to live with one another, because at this point, neither has a choice.
Var was probably a good starting character, honestly. He wasn't royalty or nobility, so it was easier to get to know both him and his species through him than it would have been if they had started the series with, say, the overseer. I actually ended up liking him a good bit by the end of the book. Leia was a mom desperate to save her daughter, and brave enough to literally anything to succeed. I think making her an older woman probably helped start the series too, because she had some wisdom to go with her drive and it served to educate the Tolath.
This book is full of hulking alien warriors, fearsome human females, lots of action, a good heaping of steam, and some eye opening moments for some rather surprised males. A good read that won't take you long and will make you curious about the next book.
“That’s right. The men who use my services prefer big, beautiful, bold, confident women,” Gerri replied. “I understand not all women will be confident with their bodies, especially with the fiasco that is society on Earth. But having some love for their curves is a must.”
Plus-size Rebecca is on a jaunt to another world. She had hopes of finding herself a nice, sweet shifter like her sister, but somehow she ended up attracted to the big, fiery dragon. A dragon who isn’t looking for love. If only he didn’t have eyes that made her want to take her panties off and a body that sent her hormones into a frenzy, life would be a lot easier.
Vikter Dragos is dying. His dragon couldn’t find a mate and he’s at the end of his time. He’s fighting the attraction for a sassy, curvy human, but it’s near impossible to stay away from her. If only she’d been his mate, everything would be smoother. He’s losing control of his dragon and his emotions. With Becca around, he didn’t know what to expect.
Becca’s in constant confusion over Vikter’s hot and cold attitude. One moment he’s kissing her like the world’s going to end, and the next he’s warning her away from getting attached. Figuring out how to scale this dragon might take more patience than she’s got. When competition arises and Vikter sees another wants Becca, he’ll face his feelings or risk losing her forever.
These two were such a hoot to read about! I try very hard not to laugh while reading because that draws my hubby’s attention. But these two were an absolute joy to read. I’m looking forward to more!

Another fantastic PDA book by Milly Taiden! Scortching hot, well this is a dragon we are talking about, so be sure water is available. It is a stand alone with a HEA. However, you may want to slap a stubborn butt dragon before the end of the book. Vikter is dying after not being able to find his true mate. His dragon is retreating and severing the communication to Vikter. Becca is a human who loves dragons, she is full of passion and speaks her mind.
Vikter is hot and cold when it comes to Becca, and they skirt around each other. Becca is mad due to Vikter's attitude but is still drawn to him. One day she ses a golden dragon and pets it. Rubs her hands all over the dragon, this may be what really wakes Vikter's dragon and the man up.
When these two do get together the results are explosive! Beware: this book is hot, steamy, and full of attitude.

I’ve been trying to decide on a couple of new series to review. I want to include something different but wasn’t sure exactly what. I think I finally decided on which ones. Yes that’s what I said, more than one.
I have been reading several different Omegaverse series, so one of those. I’m not sure which one exactly. Milan’s Jacks has two nice ones that she is continuing to add to. Piper Scott also has several series of this type.
Age play is another popular theme. Pepper North has some interesting series. There are others that have good books as well. I need to do a little bit more research before I decide.
I’m on Prillon Prime for a surprise party. Me, the unmated Earth girl, a guest of the queen! I want to dress up and have fun. Not trip over my own two feet and fall into the arms of two of the hottest alien warriors I’ve ever seen. Ever.
What happens on Prillon Prime stays on Prillon Prime. Before they touch me I make it clear that I’m not looking for a mate. Or two. I have to go back to The Colony. My life is there.
But Prillon warriors are notorious for fighting for what they want. Apparently, what these two want… is me.

It would be great if one of the brides came up with a calendar idea. Also since there is no guarantee of a Bachelor Beast finding his mate, it would be cool to have three beasts on the show at once. So there would be a possibility of one successful match, but if there was more....it would be a hat trick. I liked Bachelor Beast, it was more out of the box than what has been done in the past. I like that she doesn't leave any questions left unanswered when the book is finished. Can't for the next installment.

I never tire of reading Grace Goodwin's books and every book, as different as it is, will always manage to get you hooked reading it straight through. There is no break or stopping for breaks as it just pulls you in and before you know it, you are hooked. You will never be able to pull away from the Interstellar Bride's Series story until you finish reading her books to the end (or better yet; finish reading the end of the Bonus Content).
I love ALL of Grace Goodwin's books. With that being said, this book right away pulled me in with the shocking twist in the beginning of the book. From there, I knew I was going to spend my day reading and thinking about this book.
You just can't help but get so immersed with the plot and storyline of this book that you can't help but feel that you are living and experiencing everything that is going on with the characters but mainly the main character of Zara.
I won't say much at all about the story as I feel I would be giving away quite a bit but I would definitely encourage you to read this book as there is so much going on with Zara and her way of survival as well as dealing with Isaac and the forces of Cerberus.
Seriously? Why isn't any one of Grace Goodwin's books picked up by the that of Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video or any other movie network or agency? In all her books, there is an ongoing war between the Hive (similar to the Borg in Star Trek but totally different) and the Coalition ( which is made up of an alliance of different planets with different Aliens and/Species- which some are soooo pleasing to the eyes of the mind here) as well as characters that we all can relate to which makes them unforgettable. Then add action, romance, suspense, drama, mystery, hot sizzling sex and LOVE, (yes I said that before but wanted to mention this again) and you truly have an experience that takes you to a level of fulfilment as well as that to the matters of the heart!❤️ It truly does and I am always wanting more after reading one of Grace Goodwin's books. I mean that too.
I really hope that one day I am able to see of one or more of Grace Goodwin's stories (mainly that of the Interstellar Bride's Series) becomes a movie or series. I would truly love to see that as Grace Goodwin is truly an amazing great writer. Once a month, I know that I will always be transported to a new or familiar planet for a few hours ( which is one of my favorite times for that month). I will always be wishing and waiting for Grace Goodwin's books to come to life either on the big screen (movie theaters). or the little screen (TV) but either way I will be here waiting for the next Grace Goodwin story next month while still reveling in the aftermath of reading Rebel Mate. It's that good!!! A hearty toast as always to one of the best writers always, Grace Goodwin!!! 🍷🥂🍹

This book took me through twists and turns, it took me through some incredibly steamy times too! Whew, Isaak is one heck of dominant alien who expects all women to be submissive...lololololol, how do think things will go when he meets a woman who is a fighter? Yep, this is going to be good! I enjoyed the story, though there was just a tad to much (he won’t want me after, she won’t give into me and trust) for my personal taste, but I also get where the characters would feel that way based on their life experiences.
I think my favorite part of the book was the ending, when everything came together, and it all just clicked. Isaak and his past, Zara and her desires, the spies and lies, and the storyline....it was a fabulous ending! If you like you like hot alien pirates.... you will love Isaak. If you like a strong, independent woman that can stand on her own two feet...even if a big ole alien is picking her up...you will love Zara. If you like a good revenge story...you will like this book! I don’t think I will ever tire of the Interstellar Brides and look forward to the next book!

The world building is vivid, the danger is stark and sometimes unsettling, and the whole story is so engaging you can’t put the book down until the end (and then you just can’t wait for the next book!). Although each story is an erotic romance, you always get a sort of life lesson, or food for thought which might apply to you. There is nothing worse than seeing a bunch of 5 star reviews and realizing the book is full of errors or just plain bad and not worth my hard earned money!
Emily Pennington TOP 500 REVIEWER 3.0 out of 5 stars The Rescue Reviewed in the United States on October 9, 2020 Zara Novak is a spunky, feisty, fighter who has had a rough life growing up and surviving on the streets. It’s time to start over with a new and better life, so she signs up to be an interstellar bride. She is matched to someone on Trion and her new mate Naron is murdered right in front of her! She is saved from being auctioned by Isaak, but someone is still after her. He takes her aboard his spacecraft to escape from those who want to take her captive again. But the scrappy little human would not hesitate to fight by his side to take down the bad guys. She is not what he would have expected in a female.
This author has been one of my favorites for eons! I could always count on her for a fantastic book. But like with many of the sci-fi authors lately, I see a direction I totally dislike. I positively do not like discipline, punishment, or spanking themes, feeling they are completely inappropriate as relates to adults. For me at least, it adds absolutely nothing of value to the story, turns my stomach, and disappoints me in my reading enjoyment. I am not a prude, but this for me is OTT and ruins an excellent story. Please, stop adding kinky nonsense that is just plain nasty. I lost all respect for both characters with the dominant/submissive tug-of-war. The whole thing leaves a bad taste in my mouth. When you want someone to just love you, you don’t need a punishing “Master” to tell you how you will obey or else the punishment will begin! That’s not love!
Zenos, from the Astra Legion of Rogue 5, is on a mission to find an antidote to the deadly venom flowing through his body. Without the antidote, one bite during mating will kill a hybrid Forsian’s chosen female. Zenos must acquire the serum at any cost, for like his Atlan cousins, his mating instinct will eventually consume him. The last thing he needs is a distraction, but one look at the defiant female bounty hunter and he can’t deny his body what she’s offering—a few wild hours of pleasure.
Ivy Birkeland’s entire ReCon unit was annihilated as a result of Quell, a mind-altering drug the pirates of Rogue 5 are known to distribute. A rebel to her core, her heart still broke when she was forced to walk away from her life as a Coalition fighter. Now she hunts a bounty that will allow her to catch the criminals selling Quell and avenge her dead friends. Free of the Coalition Fleet’s strict regulations, she makes a deal with an unknown Rogue 5 operative to gain access to his home planet and travels to Transport Station Zenith to meet him.
When Ivy’s smoking hot, one-night-stand turns out to be her Rogue 5 contact, every carefully-laid plan she’s made goes to hell. Because when a rebel and a rogue are forced to work together, sparks will fly. They don’t need the criminals to kill them, they just might finish each other…if they don’t fall in love first.
Jennifer 4.0 out of 5 stars A very enjoyable installment in the Interstellar Brides Program series. Reviewed in the United States on January 15, 2020 Verified Purchase This novel was well written and edited, with no typos or wrong word choices that this reader caught. This novel had many action and adventure elements, and the world building and characterization were both very good. The heroine, especially, was a vibrant individual. The romance between hero and heroine developed naturally, though their relationship development was fairly simple because the external conflict, or stakes, in this novel were so high. This novel had low to medium levels of angst, or internal conflict. That tends to be my preferred narrative structure in romance novels, so I enjoyed it. This novel ends on a fairly satisfying HEA, or Happy Ever After. I recommend this novel to fans of sci-fi or paranormal romance.

The Bookwyrm 4.0 out of 5 stars Seriously B.A!!! Reviewed in the United States on January 27, 2020 Verified Purchase GIRL POWER!! Demos and Ivy kick some serious A$$ together! But in true Grace Goodwin form, it's still the girl who's tougher, which I love. 'The Rebel and the Rogue' has a little more of an edge than most of the books in the Interstellar Brides universe, but you won't mind the bite. You will be drawn in to the struggle, as each of these characters fights for survival, and realizes that maybe, if they can make it through this battle, that there might finally be something more for them than just surviving. They might just have found something to live for, instead of just something they are willing to die for. However. There are some reasons why this book falls just short of its 5th star. First off though, THESE ISSUES DO NOT make this book one to skip over in my estimation!!!! This is still a really good story! But there are some speed bumps on this road. So, on to a description of those speed bumps: There is no explanation given on why every single member of this unit but one would go into battle under the influence of the drug Quell. It just doesn't mesh with what we have come to expect from a human special ops recon unit in the war against the Hive. All of the human characters we have met in this series who serve in these units have been seasoned veterans of Earth militaries before ever entering the war in space, meaning that the likelihood of an entire unit of special ops soldiers becoming drug addicts out of control enough to risk going into battle high...just doesn't make sense. And it definitely doesn't reflect well on the characters and strength of human soldiers, which is the opposite of the image that the author has built of these characters over the span of this entire lengthy series. There isn't any explanation of the affects of the drug or the time it generally takes for an abuser to reach this level of self destruction. And how and why, if every other member of her unit fell victim to this dangerous drug, did Ivy somehow escape this same fate? Finally, there is also no explanation of how Ivy obtained the antidote she uses to bargain her way into Rogue 5. This is somewhat less of an issue to the integrity of the narrative than the Quell questions are in my opinion, but I was still left scratching my head over it. Honestly, I'm hoping for a small revision and update of this book. It seems like these plot holes could be fairly simply fixed without having to change much in the story overall, so I'm crossing my fingers. Because of this, I want to make it clear again, This book is still very much worth purchasing and reading! Just go into it knowing that there are a couple of unresolved issues.
Emily Pennington TOP 500 REVIEWER 5.0 out of 5 stars The Rebel and the Rogue Reviewed in the United States on January 17, 2020 Verified Purchase This story brings us some awesome characters in Zenos of the Astra Legion of Rogue 5 and Ivy Birkeland.
Ivy, a human, has walked away from the Coalition Fleet’s regulations to become a bounty hunter seeking revenge against the aliens responsible for the death of her entire ReCon unit. They were provided with Quell, a mind-altering drug distributed by the pirates of Rogue 5, and no one survived. Ivy will not stop until she has seen justice served and the death of her unit avenged. She has no desire for any sort of commitment to a male, but she still makes time for a wildly passionate one-night stand with a stranger to take care of her needs.
Zenos, a hybrid Forsian, is on a mission to obtain a serum, the antidote to make sure a female survives the mating bite from his poisonous fangs. In the same way that the mating instinct affects the Atlans, Zenos knows his own mating instinct will soon control him and he needs to be prepared with the serum. Although he cannot mate until that serum is in his possession, when he meets the kicka$$ bounty hunter, he won't deny his body the one-time experience of a few hours of pleasure she is offering him without commitment.
As always, this author gives us the very best stories, bringing the reader back again and again to read about the various aliens we are so familiar with! The story line is fast-paced and exciting as Zenos and Ivy let their passions overtake them, only to meet each other again unexpectedly at Transport Station Zenith when she attempts to gain access to the “unknown operative’s” home planet. How will their overwhelming attraction impact her plans for revenge? They need each other – can either walk away? Grab your copy and immerse yourself in a fantastic experience you won’t want to miss as the author places us in the amazing universe she has created!
Jael 5.0 out of 5 stars Rogue 5! Reviewed in the United States on January 15, 2020 Verified Purchase Even though I tested as a Trion bride, I love Rogue 5 stories the best! The notion of Leagues and their honor appeal to me.
Ivy was a Coalition fighter who turned bounty hunter after her team was massacred. She is hunting the one who set them up to die for vengeance.
Zenos is part of Astra League and is assigned to escort and protect Ivy on her journey into Cerebus’ territory. But he doesn’t know the secrets she holds.
This is a really good story in the Rogue 5 series, and I look forward to more of them!
Commander Karter is a Prillon Warrior. His first duty is to protect his people, to defend the Coalition worlds from a fate too terrible to comprehend. Battle is his life. His heart. He fights. He has never once been selfish enough to believe he deserved an Interstellar Bride. Until he’s matched at the worst possible time.
Astronomer Erica Roberts has always dreamed of seeing the stars. Volunteering as an Interstellar Bride is a win-win, not only will she be able to see the galaxy, but she’s more than ready to take on the two alien warriors she’s been promised. She’s all in. But when she transports directly into the aftermath of a battle, she quickly learns this won’t be an easy match. Her two commanders are torn between battling the Hive and battling their need for her.
If a new Hive weapon can destroy a Coalition battlegroup in the space of a single heartbeat, what will it do to Commander Karter’s match? And how is he and his second supposed to keep their mate safe if they can’t even save themselves?
5.0 out of 5 stars Loved Karter and Ronan
Reviewed in the United States on March 20, 2019
After seeing Commander Karter in several books and watching him interact with Dara (Chloe, Seth, and Dorian's daughter), we have begged Grace for him to get a mate and she answered us with this great story.
(To understand my review, I just want to put it out there, I read for story and could care less about the sexy times)
This story drops us right into the middle of the Hive war, as mentioned in the previous books, the Battlegroup Karter is actively holding back the Hive in sector 437. Karter was tested years and years ago and has been too busy to have any thoughts of a bride. Ronan is also a Commander and is just as intense as Karter due to the heavy weight of responsibility demanded by their positions. Erica has always loved the stars and jumped at her chance to be among them, especially after her testing as part of a Prillon sandwich (her words, not mine).
This story is told from all three POV and we get to see just how tortured Karter is and how much weight is on his very broad shoulders. I really loved Karter and Ronan and even though Erica is just a feisty as the other Interstellar Brides, I guess I just wasn't as impressed with her as I was with the other brides - she does love both of them and fights for a true mating but that's about it. BUT, Karter and Ronan make up for any deficiencies I felt Erica had. The new development in the war is a major game changer and the Coalition is going to have their hands full dealing with it.
I love this series and while I have received advanced copies of these books (yes, I joined Grace's review team to get my hands on these books as soon as possible), I have purchased every single one. Purchasing these books and writing reviews so that others have a chance to discover this talented author's work is my way of supporting her and my habit 🙂

Title: The Commanders' Mate
Series: Interstellar Brides Program
Author: Grace Goodwin
Designation: Book 15 of Series, Can Be Read As Standalone, No Cliffhanger, *Novella Length #sciencefiction #romance #spaceopera #action #adventure #triad #MFM
My Rating: Five Sexy Sci-Fi Stars****
*All of the books in the Interstellar Brides Program feature one woman finding love with one (or more) sexy warriors, usually alien but sometimes human. Each can be read as a standalone, but there is an underlying interconnected conflict with crossover characters, which is why this reviewer recommends reading the books of the series sequentially. If you're a fan of erotic sci-fi romance, it's one decision you'll never regret and will certainly enrich your reading experience. There is no page or word count given but this reviewer estimates this book to be a longer novella with approximately 40,000 words or 120 pages.
I adore science fiction, completely smitten with hot, alpha aliens, and totally addicted to romance, so when I can get the perfect trifecta of all three, I'm in reader heaven! And Grace Goodwin delivers every single time! I found Goodwin's work a few years ago and have been hooked ever since. She's one of only five Sci-Fi Romance authors on my automatic buy list. When Goodwin has a new release, I never even bother to read the blurb or reviews; I just one-click and dive in! I own all 15 books in her original Interstellar Brides Program Series, all 9 of Interstellar Brides: The Ascension Saga, all 6 of Interstellar Brides: The Colony, plus all 5 of the Interstellar Brides: The Virgins Series and, like all of her followers, anxiously await each new release. Yeah, I think it's safe to say I'm a fan, and I've never regretted a single purchase! But I digress, so let's talk about this book. Fans have been clamoring for Commander Karter's story and one thing I can say about Goodwin, she listens to her readers. This was probably one of the most highly anticipated books of the series and Goodwin delivered in spades. There were so many things I enjoyed about The Commanders' Mate. It's fast-paced, easy to follow, and well written, as always, with snappy dialogue, an intriguing storyarc, and a large cast of engaging characters. But before I continue, I'd like to say - WOOHOO! WE FINALLY FIND OUT COMMANDER KARTER'S FULL NAME! It's Makaed Karter, aka Kaed! Hey, what can I say? I've been smitten with the enigmatic Prillon warrior battleship commander since he was first introduced at the beginning of the series and like my fellow fans, I've begged shamelessly for his story. I knew it would take a very special woman to lasso this space cowboy! But Erica Roberts from Earth was so much more than just special, she was intelligent, feisty, courageous, and determined, with a capital D. She was also extremely tenacious, like a dog with a bone, and refused to allow anything to stop her from getting her man, or I should say men since Prillon warriors always mate in pairs. And she was an astrologer! How cool is that?!? Pretty darn cool, I'd say, especially since her background and knowledge in Astrology not only helped save the day but also was instrumental in saving every single person on Battleship Karter! As I said, Prillon warriors mate in pairs, two males for each female, a primary and a secondary, but I had no idea who Karter would choose as his second. I knew he'd have to be exceptional and Prillon Warrior and Coalition Intelligence Core Commander Ronan Wothar was definitely one hunk of hot alpha love! WARNING, WARNING, WILL ROBINSON! Sexy times ahead! lol... Ronan had been Karter's life-long best friend and chosen second, that is until 5 years ago when he was reported killed in action. Thankfully, Ronan wasn't dead; he had been working with the Coalition's super-secret spy organization dubbed the Intelligence Core. If you've read Fighting for Their Mate, you may recall it featured human female warrior Commander Chloe Phan, who at one time was also an agent for the Intelligence Core. These guys don't play around. They're a nasty bunch of spies. But Ronan was tired of his isolated existence with the I.C. and truly grateful for the chance at having a mate. But poor Kaed... when it rains, it pours for this battle-hardened commander. In one fell swoop, he simultaneously discovers his long-thought-to-be-dead friend is actually alive, AND he finally has a mate, and not just any mate but a 99% compatibility match! Oh my! Kaed had given up on ever being matched by the Interstellar Brides Program and resigned himself to being alone. Actually, he preferred it that way. His life was dangerous and full of responsibility. He was dedicated to his fleet and it was his job to ensure the safety of the thousands of warriors and families under his command. He had no time for a relationship or a mate. But the heart wants what the heart wants, despite trying to convince himself otherwise. Kaed was determined to send Erica away and never allow her to wear his mating collar. Yeah, good luck with that, Kaed. Remember when I said Erica was feisty and determined? Well, she had other ideas and to heck with the merciless Hive enemies. Erica was hellbent on having her happy ending, with both Kaed and Ronan. And when Erica makes up her mind, there's no changing it. It was a battle of wills, but we all know women are actually the stronger sex, right? When a woman sets her sights on something, nothing will stand in her way. Kaed and Ronan had no idea just what a fierce human female was capable of doing, especially in the name of love! Ronan capitulated fairly quickly, but Kaed was so much slower to acquiesce. I wanted to smack him upside his handsome head - several times! But it was so much fun watching the three of them dance around each other, all the while trying to save the ship, save the day, and outmaneuver the Hive. Sigh... So romantic!
So, did I like this book? Yes, very much! Would I recommend it? You bet, and I am but only for adults. If you enjoy fast-paced, well-written science fiction brimming with action, adventure, danger, drama, engaging storyarcs, nail-biting conflicts, endearing characters, sexy heroes, sassy heroines, steamy passion, erotic sex scenes, and heartwarming romance, then this entire series is screaming your name. Will I read this author again? Abso-freakin-lutely! Just as soon as she releases her next book! And finally, was I entertained? Completely! I was glued to my seat, gasping for breath with a death grip on my ereader as the pages flew as quickly as the time! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read! Well done, Grace Goodwin! Well done, indeed. And FYI, we, your fans, are still waiting for Warden Egara's story and not so patiently, I might add! lol...
5.0 out of 5 stars Full of emotion
Reviewed in the United States on March 21, 2019
This book is full of emotion, an intense battle, plenty of steam, a strong willed woman who won't settle for anything less than she deserves and the connection that the Prillon mates all have with each other. This book will make you smile and laugh, put you on edge, perhaps shed a tear or two and leave you feeling good. I went through the entire gamut of emotions and LOVED the story. When you finish the book, you HAVE to go to Grace Goodwin's home page and read the bonus epilogue. It is priceless.
The only thing former Coalition warriors Calder, Zed and Axon have in common are long years spent battling the Hive, and their eagerness to claim their personal reward—their own Interstellar Bride.
When news arrives on Viken that each of the warriors has been matched, they gather at the transport station only to receive two unwelcome surprises.
First, they are all matched to the same woman, and not one of them is inclined to share. Second, their mate has refused them. She won’t leave Earth and transport to Viken. Won’t give any of them a chance to win her heart.
But these warriors will not back down from a challenge. When one states his intention to travel to Earth and retrieve his mate, the others will not allow him to make the journey alone. Their mate will be seduced. Claimed. One by one, they will tame her. Make her their own.
When danger struck, they worked as a team to take down the guilty party. They put their bride, Violet and her love for her sister, Mindy, ahead of their own needs.
If You've been reading Grace Goodwin's stories, You'll love this on every bit as the others. If your new to Grace Goodwin's Sci-Fi romances, you've a treat ahead of you with this book. Grace is a gifted writer. You won't feel like your missing a big chuck of world-building or backstory. Just dive in and ENJOY!
Bookworm555 5.0 out of 5 stars 4.5 stars of Viken awesomeness Reviewed in the United States on May 16, 2018Verified Purchase I have purchased every book in the Interstellar Bride series - both the mainline and the offshoots (the Colony and the Virgins) and I have never been disappointed in any of the books. While my favorites in the series are any that involve Atlans and the Vikens are my least favoites, Grace Goodwin always writes a good story. Grace's characters and worlds are well developed and intriguing and her plots suck you into the story quickly and never lull.
I won't give away any spoilers, but the blurb only scratches the surface of what this story is really about. The fact that these three Vikens were not expecting to share a mate (unlike the previous Viken book) gave the author the chance to slowly bring these three Vikens together, despite their differing ways of claiming a mate and their desire to not share her. Violet's reason for refusing transport to Viken is a what really drives the story and as it is such a fantastic twist to the Interstellar Bride series - I won't say any more about it.
As I skim over the sexy parts (because I prefer story to titillation), I would say that there are enough and that they do not over power the story. The conclusion gives us a perfect solution to Violet's problem.
If you have not read any of the Interstellar Brides books, I would not start with this one. I would suggest reading the other three Viken books before this one, as many little threads from other books are woven into this story and may leave you a little perplexed at times (even though the author did an awesome job of briefly explaining everything).
SLF 5.0 out of 5 stars What would you do to have a family of your own? Reviewed in the United States on May 19, 2018Verified Purchase This was another great Interstellar Brides book. In this one, Violet is mated to three Viken warriors who thought they were individually going to find a mate. Violet agrees to the match and before she is shipped off to meet them on their planet, she discovers she has not been matched to the same planet as her twin sister. That has her calling off the match. The guys go after her, traveling to Florida to fetch her. She has 30 days to decide if she wants to be mated to any of the men. There is a bit of drama, steam and danger in the book as well as a discovery of what constitutes a family.. It explores what one would do to save their family or make their family happy.
Terry 5.0 out of 5 stars Love Interstellar Brides Reviewed in the United States on May 29, 2018Verified Purchase Just got pulled into this one. Loved the human Female.....Such attitude and not taking crap from anyone. That includes her three alien mates, Calder,Axon, and Zed. They sure were not planning on shring a mate when it came through that they had a human bride waiting for them. But they had to come together when Violet decided at the last minute to back out. The plan was to go to where her sister was, not a different planet and not with three mates. This book was awesome and fun and sexy and just plain great to read. Has some alien action and lots of sexy alien sex with three larger then life males that know what they are doing.
