Claimed by the Zandian: Zandian Brides Book 6

I CAN’T CLAIM HER…BUT SHE WILL CALL ME MASTER.
I was born blind. My genes are defective.
Unsuitable for breeding.
That’s the only reason I don’t claim the alluring human
we rescued from a slave auction.
I have no intention of mating her,
especially since she’s meant for another.
But when she calls me Master, I can’t help but take command.
And command I will.

As a mother of autistic children, I love the idea of a "dis"ability becoming a super power. I often tell my kids that just because their brain works differently, that doesn't mean it doesn't work well, and that they have unique gifts because of how their brain works, that they can use to be successful. Few "normal" people have the incredible focus and creativity of an autistic person. Tarik is like that. He didn't just accept his limitations and quit on his goal of becoming a strong contributing member of his struggling race, he took the chance he was offered of having experimental tech inserted into his brain, and then he worked his a$$ off to develop himself to his fullest ability. In a world of warriors, he found his own path. When he realizes that he is valuable because of his uniqueness, rather than despite it, I wanted to yell, "Yes! You go, Tarik!"
Zina is her own brand of warrior. She doesn't sit back as a slave and decide their is no hope. She takes not in each day that she has with her foster daughter, Enya, who is actually Bayla's long lost oldest child, and she teaches her to be strong. Not only that, but dispite her own painful disability, she teaches Enya the skills that she will need to escape her life of slavery. And if you ask me, the ability to be patient with, and love other people's children is its own super power.
The two of them together are... well, an accident waiting to happen, but it's entertaining and hot as neck to come along for the trip. Such a sweet story! The BDSM elements are a little lighter, which is, for me, nice. Every time someone pulls out a strap I cringe.

Contains subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some including adult language, steamy intimate scenes and violence.

This is the story of Tarek and Zina. He is a Zandian male that believes he can’t have a mate or family due to a birth defect that rendered him blind. She is a freed human enslaved by the Ocretions and rescued when the Zandians come to a human slave auction to purchase / rescue the girl of her heart.

This story does have a couple of minor grammatical errors, but nothing very distracting. It is written with a sense of humor that keeps the potentially serious begins in check. It is a great way to escape for a few hours and visit with an overall storyline arc and universe that feels like visiting with old friends (for those of us that have read the other Zandian stories).

While this could be read as a stand-alone, I highly recommend reading the series and stories in order for maximum reader satisfaction and to prevent spoilers.

Tarek and Zina
Tarek is a Zandian navigator blind from birth but Dr. Daneth helped him "see" with sensors implanted. Tarek sees himself as expendable due to his disability and does not think he deserves a mate.
Zina helped her ward Enya escape even with her leg handicap holding her back. Sterilized and deformed the only job her previous master deemed her suited for is childcare. Raise and teach them until they are old enough to be sold.
She longs for a child of her own. Never dreaming that one day she would be free to choose anything.
So add a little bit of spanking with a hand and belt, rough sex and a whole lot of emotions and drama and you get a good read.
