Judged: Cobra (The Fated Vigilante Series Book 2)

“Why can’t I get this sexy silver fox out of my system?”

After taking up the mantel of Cobra, Eric Cayden has found himself in dark and murky waters since he vowed to rid the world of injustices. A few weeks ago, Jordan happened upon a website on the deep web known as The Killing Game and both he and Eric were horrified by what they’d witnessed. The murder of innocent people for entertainment is the kind of thing that makes Eric’s blood boil and his bloodthirst for vengeance rise. Unfortunately, bringing the Killing Game to its knees is easier said than done, as each new player they take out, leads to a more powerful member that may be untouchable. They realize that they are in over their heads and with the sexy homicide detective, Alexi Taylor on their trail, things are getting more complicated. Especially since Eric made the foolish mistake of getting intimately involved with the Silver Fox cop, and quite possibly has fallen for him. Now, he and Jordan have to make a hard decision that may leave them exposed and vulnerable. Do they bring in the detective Eric has been enamored with for help, or risk losing their only lead on the Killing Game?

Contains episodes: Injustice, Vulnerable, and Exposed.

This book includes episodes 4 to 6 and I really enjoyed following Eric on his quest to take down the Killing Game participants. I was holding my breath multiple times and I admit being a vigilante even with some superpowers doesn't seem to be an easy deal. Eric is committed though and even another enhanced human cannot take his mind off the end goal. I love it when a story twists and turns and I didn't see some of those twists until they were happening right before my eyes. Nicholas Bella has a knack for giving me some interesting visuals and I can't help feeling as if I know Alexi. I am so fond of this fictional character that I hope he and Eric can make it work. A new player gets introduced, the Black Knight, and it seems that Jordan can't take his eyes of that one. I am looking forward to more of this group. They may not be a team, but I am sure together they can take on the underbelly of the dark web.

Rereading this and saw I didn’t leave a review. How criminal of me. Reading this (and book 1) to pregame for Book 3 which I’m diving into next. Super good plot and characters. Can’t wait to read how the story progresses.

While I was a little bit reserved and hesitant about the first book, this one has me 1000% invested. The suspense really reached a new high - dark, violent, unpredictable! Our baby vigilante from the first book- Eric aka Cobra has grown more confident in his powers and has truly committed to taking down the Killing game. But this deadly game is like a disease spread across the globe so Cobra and Jordan are well aware that they can't do it alone if they want the mission to be successful. So this book is like a preparation for the final battle and the tension is palpable. Can they trust their new ally - The Black knight and will Eric follow through on the stipulations he agreed on in advance. And will his casual relationship with Alexi turn into something more? So it's time to test new allies, new connections and put not only his capability and powers but his heart on the line and see will the end result pays off!?!
