Vengeance: Road to Carnage Series Book 2

Bikers, Bad boys, and Blood.

Now that Kenshin Yamoto has found solace in Ace’s arms, he is learning to trust again and even to love again. But he isn’t out of danger yet. Randal, the crooked cop who tormented him for over a year, is still alive and looking to get his hands on him once again. The Lords of Chaos will have to step up their game if they’re going to save their newest prospect, and the man who has their Sergeant-at-Arms, Noah “Ace” Murphy, so smitten.

Richard Harrison was given a year to pay his debt to society for his crime, which just got a lot more tempting with Diego “Dragon” Murphy by his side. The older man and inmate makes Richard feel safe, valued, and above all, out of his mind with lust. Being in prison with a biker for a lover presents its own challenges as he delves deeper into Dragon’s world. Will Richard’s desire for Dragon lead him down a dark path, one he may find irresistible?

Roman Alexander is a man who enjoys the finer things in life, and Lords of Chaos princess, Gina Murphy, is no exception. The two have been chatting online for over six months and their long-distance relationship has reached volcanic levels of yearning. When Roman flies into town for a medical conference, Gina makes sure nothing will keep them apart, not even a lockdown order from her father and president of the Lords of Chaos.

I am loving this series so far. The characters are mature, and able to express themselves to each other without unnecessary nonsense and drama. Some of the couples seem to fall for each other very quickly, but there is a nice balance between the focus on their feelings v.s. the overall story being told. The chapters are broken up so that we switch between the different main couples as we read along. I personally like that style of writing, because it makes it easy to keep details organized when you have a large cast of characters. Being able to know what most people were thinking in scenes, as opposed to sticking with one view was an interesting choice, but I liked it. Sometimes fully knowing the character's motivations can ease frustration on the reader's part, when seemingly irrational actions are taken.

The heat factor on these books is lower than, say, the books involving vampires from this same author, but there is more romance. It is still blush worthy for anyone looking for something hot and spicy to read. The characters were cute together. That said, the themes are generally mature, sometimes violent, and often reference past trauma, so that is something to be aware of. I'm not a reader that generally enjoys high levels of depicted gore, but there was a decent balance struck here. I have never grinned through torture scenes before, but I was pretty content with what I saw on page.

I fell in love with these characters a little bit, and I can't wait for the next book. I hope the author intends to fully flesh out and build on this universe to a long and satisfying end. MC type novels are a fun read, and the family being portrayed here is interesting. I'd like to see more of what sort of jobs they can do as a club, but if this is a more introspective look at family history and dynamics, I'm here for that too. The books so far seem a little different than others I have read like them, and that's always refreshing.

“A Lord doesn’t back down…” I thought the first book was good but this one set me on fire. I love this hardcore family and MC and am chomping at the bit for more. I can’t say Kenshi surprised me because anyone meant for Ace is more than what he appears but wow, I really admire his flair and style. And Dragon and Richie are spicy but I am concerned what’s in store and hope certain things come to light very soon for all involved. I won’t say much about Roman except he’s an idiot and I’m rooting for Gina. Mayhem, chaos, lust and love, this series has it all

Hot, hot, hot, hot!!!!

When you think that the Author can’t get any better, you are soooo wrong. This is the second book of this series and it is everything you wished it would be. The development of the characters are mind blowing and the life of the motorcycle club in this series feels so real. I don’t know where to begin with this review because it’s just so good. I love the relationship with Ace and Kenshin, how Kenshin grows throughout this book is awesome to see. I highly recommend this novel!!! That’s all I’m going to say because I’ll spoil it all for you if I keep going. Read this book, you won’t be disappointed!
