If you are rereading a book, make sure you change the status on Goodreads to “Currently Reading!”

If you read my post about the Reading journal from Net Gallery, you may have noticed that I said that I was going to try to keep track of all the books I read. Like many others, I tend to use Goodreads to keep up with them. The problem comes in when you decide to reread a book you read before. The reason for the reread doesn’t really matter, it could be anything.
You see, Goodreads take note of when you start a book and when you finish it. Very nice feature actually. When you reread a book however, it does not automatically take note of this because it is already on your list. You have to tell it that you are reading it again.

This is the monthly “wrap up page” from the journal. While I’m searching for new books to read, I’ve been rereading some older ones that I haven’t read in a few years.
It wasn’t until I started to count up the number of books that I realized that it wasn’t including the rereads. Thankfully I had just started rereading these books so I didn’t have many to mark. But given that it is so easy to mark them from within the Kindle app, it makes more sense to do that!.
