Two rival interns. One art museum. And a missing art museum exhibit.

Dylan Alexander doesn’t need a boyfriend. Having one will only slow him down.

Freshly graduated from university, Dylan’s arrived in London, England from Vancouver, Canada for a summer internship at the London Art & Design Museum. He’s also looking for strings-free fun and a fresh dating scene. This is Dylan’s dream chance to start his career and land a permanent job in London—or else he must return to Vancouver where museum jobs are rare, and the dating pool is old news. Everything’s going great in his new life—except for one thing. Dylan must put up with rival museum intern William Martin-Greene.

Will is everything Dylan can’t stand: flashy, arrogant, and entitled. Forget that he’s too handsome for his own good and knows it. It’s bad luck that they both started on the same internship program. At least they work safely apart in different departments—until one day, they’re forced to work together when Will unexpectedly joins Dylan’s Curatorial team. So much for the avoidance strategy that had worked so far. Will’s arrival on his team is also not helping his unmistakable attraction. When Dylan and Will end up stranded together while collecting exhibits, with only one bed to share, they can’t deny their chemistry.

With only one permanent job on offer at the end of the summer, the competition is on to be the best intern. They both share the blame when an important design exhibit goes missing and risks the unexpected summer romance between them. Then, everything is on the line—including hearts, careers, and a chance at love.

A rivals-to-lovers, opposites attract, only one bed, and boy-next-door romance!

Historic Charleston & the Lowcountry

In this elegant hardbound volume, photographers Steve Gross and Susan Daley take you on an intimate tour of some of the finest historic homes, gardens, churches, and plantations of the old city of Charleston and its surrounding Lowcountry. Their luminescent photographs reveal an insider’s look at the definitive architecture and landscape of the region, ranging from private gardens hidden behind wrought iron gates to some of America’s first landscaped garden vistas. From colonial-era French Quarter homes to Federal and Greek Revival townhouses and antebellum plantation houses, the selection featuring old family, private homes to museum showplaces make this an essential book for visitors, architects, preservationists or armchair travelers.

Editorial Reviews

Review

“In their new photo book, Historic Charleston and the Lowcountry, Gross andDaley describe stumbling upon the Aiken-Rhett House, a Federal-style buildingoriginally designed in 1818. It was decaying, but the pair were intrigued bythe mansion, the remnants of its opulent past and, ultimately, its story.”
Preservation Magazine

“Photographers Steve Gross and Susan Daley write in their new, beautifully illustrated book, Historic Charleston & the Low Country (Gibbs Smith, 2016) that ” to walk into a three-hundred-year-old house and feel the resonance of past lives, to make photographs using the same geometry of sunlight coming through windows and doors as generations of inhabitants have experienced it, is to glimpse into history and to be provided with a way to read the past. “Their passion for Charleston’s past shines through in this comprehensive book that showcases in words and pictures over 22 historic homes, plantations and gardens. The authors have gained access to architectural gems of the Georgian, Federal and Greek Revival periods, many of them privately owned. Additional chapters instruct us on the histories of piazzas, wrought-iron work, hidden gardens and churches. This book is a loving tribute to Charleston and its surroundings-and the next best thing to making a visit.” Editor’s Picks, Charleston Style & Design Magazine.

The American Revolution on Long Island (Military)

A history of the Revolutionary War and British occupation in this part of New York, from the Culper spy ring to the prison ships where thousands died.

The American Revolution sharply divided families and towns on New York’s Long Island. Washington’s defeat at the Battle of Long Island in August 1776 started seven years of British occupation—and Patriot sympathizers were subject to loyalty oaths, theft of property, and the quartering of soldiers in their homes.

Those who crossed the British were jailed on prison ships in Wallabout Bay in Brooklyn, where an estimated eleven thousand people died of disease and starvation. Some fought back with acts of sabotage and espionage—and Washington’s famed Culper spy ring in Oyster Bay, Setauket, and other areas successfully tracked British movements. In this book, historian Joanne S. Grasso explores the story of an island at war.
