Oh Nico- the sexy, thick chemistry between you and Sondra was 🔥!!

The way that Nico and Sondra meet is unconventional. She goes into his Vegas suite to clean it (she’s coming from Reno, has a graduate degree but is struggling so she can only clean rooms in the meantime while she waits to see what her future holds- if she can get a job teaching or maybe deal cards like her cousin that works at the same hotel). Because she has a very nice body and is attractive, he immediately has his guard up and assumes she’s some kind of spy or is working for someone and is trying to deceive him. Nico suffers from insomnia- so he freaks out and gets paranoid easily (plus, his family deals with illegal things, so it’s not like he can easily trust people). She really is only there to clean, but he doesn’t believe her. So what does he do? He strip searches her!!! I have to say- I thought it was pretty hot (until he takes out his gun- but I still admired his alpha behavior). He realizes his mistake after she breaks down from the fear she’s feeling.

He warns her about himself and somewhat apologizes for what she went through with him (and pays her for her traumatizing experience). She decides she needs the job so she isn’t going to quit and Nico uses this to his advantage. He personally requests that she cleans the suites (his and two others). When she goes to clean his room, she encounters him and, oh man, is it explosive! I’m surprised my kindle didn’t melt 🔥😅🥵🤤. Their connection is visceral, raw, hot, and organic. They just can’t help themselves- and I was here for it all.

A couple of things- they both have a past. He’s been engaged to another Italian mafia’s daughter- a mafia princess- for like twenty years now (since she was a baby and he was a kid). Sondra does not trust quickly anymore since her boyfriends keep cheating on her (she left Reno after she found her boyfriend with another woman). So, fidelity is a must for her. There are things they each need to know about each other, especially concerning his engagement and expectations in life.

I adored them! Honestly, because their connection was so intense, they’re really meant to be. I can’t wait to keep reading more from this series! I have now added Renee Ross as one of my favorite authors 🥰

Nico is the fourth son of the Tacone family. Despite being part of an organized crime family, he’s trying to run a legit business. He’s one dangerous, intense, violent and possessive male. Even more, I loved his dominance and dirty mouth!

Sondra is an art historian looking for a new start in Las Vegas. She’s so sweet, kind, compassionate and smart. But she always seems to attract the wrong kind of men. I really liked her!

I loved everything that happened between Sondra and Nico. The first time they met was quite intense. Their journey towards happiness was not an easy one. And there were secrets threatening to tear them apart. Even more, both knew they were wrong for each other but couldn’t stay away. And both were torn between right and wrong, love and duty. But their chemistry and attraction was undeniable from the start. And when they finally gave in to their feelings, the passion they shared was off-the-charts hot. I really loved how well they fit together. And after everything they’ve been through, they more than deserved to find love and happiness with each other.

Overall, the story is a fantastic start of the series. It’s filled with action, danger, violence, drama, scorching hot romance and magnificent characters.

Before being a maid, Sondra Simonson was an art history teacher in a happy relationship... or so she thought. After finding her boyfriend enjoying the physical delights of another woman Sondra has had enough and wants a better life without a cheating boyfriend. After moving to Vegas with her cousin, Sondra now finds herself working in Nico's hotel and it's a whole new world. After being short staffed her supervisor hesitantly allows Sondra to help her clean the rooms on the coveted top floor where Mr. Tacone and others live and conduct casino business. Warned not to tough anything in these rooms other than what they are there to clean Sondra finds herself working along and accidentally gets caught by Mr. Tacone himself and Sondra is beside herself.

One look at Sondra in her uniform and Nico is in lust! It also helps that Sondra is so taken with his dominant nature that she has a hard time keeping in mind that 1. he's in the mafia and 2. he's her boss... this is just so wrong! The twists and turns in this novel adds extra spice to this kettle of chemistry that detonates with the lingering looks and hot kisses. This is the first offering that I have read from this author and I must say I was impressed. Not many know, as Sondra did and I respect her for that. Despite what Nico's profession is and Sondra's misgivings about how she feels about what he does they will fight to be together to the end...
