Healing of the Wolf (The Wild Hunt Legacy Book 5)

This is why I read romances – to escape into a world that is magical and where good triumphs over evil.” ~ BookAddict Reviews

A decade in captivity tore away all hope.

But Margery never lost her resolve to help the sick. The village she’d hoped to serve as banfasa, caring for the ill and injured, is long gone. Humans captured the young shifters and killed the adults. Finally rescued, she has a chance at her dreams—at least for meaningful work. With her leg crippled and her face scarred, she knows she has no hope of ever finding love.

Tynan is ready to find their mate.

After years away from his littermate as a police officer among humans, Tynan is finally home, a beta in the wolf pack, and serving his people as a law officer. Assigned as Margery’s mentor in the pack, he patiently works to earn the skittish little wolf’s trust. Her captivity has left her with problems, including a fear of uniforms. But he’s a fixer at heart—and he’s starting to want more from the gentle female than just friendship.

Donal has no intention of making a family.

Separated from his littermate for years, Donal has remained unmated, devoting his energies to healing. Believing ugly rumors about their new neighbor—a banfasa—he won’t have her in his clinic or his life—no matter what his newly returned brother wants.

But a feral shifter’s attack on Tynan shows Margery in a whole different light. She’s levelheaded, compassionate, sweet—and far too appealing. What male could resist her?

But even as the brothers work to win their mate, cruel forces move to crush their entire clan.

I was surprised to see this book but surprised in the best way. This series is an automatic buy.

While the author plays in the paranormal, the reader enjoys the familiar concepts of shifterdom with twists unique to Cherise Sinclair. I have read the entire series, and this was a quicker read than some of the other books.

I like that two of my series favorites found a forever woman. I liked the female character. I didn't come to love her. The warm fuzzies of the female bonding and cub love hit perfectly, but some of the long time characters felt flat in places.

I was thrilled to see the Murphy brothers show up and I was thrilled to see more world building. I was thrilled to see Darcy's brothers and the previous beloved characters (all in the proper moderation, meaning glimpses instead of embedded novellas to previous star characters). I was thrilled with most of the plot. It just missed something...

There is a lot of plot work in this book. I felt several characters and Consantir areas are revealed to the reader which will lead into future books. I feel that plot opportunities abound in the series and I look forward to the next installment.

Four stars from a tough critic. Cherise Sinclair is a remarkable talent. I read all her series but one. This will not be my favorite, but not every book can be the favorite...

A few minor editing issues but the issues rarely disturbed the natural flow while reading.

Cherise Sinclair is one of my favorite authors. I've never read a bad book of hers. The Wild Hunt Legacy series is such a fun shifter romance series that is outside of her more often written about contemporary BDSM subjects, but that doesn't make it any less phenomenal. I re-read this series often.

A shifter world based off a unique shifter history in which they descend from the Fae and follow the God of the Hunt, Hern and Goddess (spelling and names may be wrong on that). Shifters are one of three things: wolves, bears, or large cats and their society is run by God determined leaders. Many are also God-touched and serve purposes such as protectors, healers, and more. They have low birthrates so follow a monthly practice of requiring Gatherings, where females go into heat and all unmated shifters attend a massive party that, hopefully, leads to many gather-bred babies.

Margery has recovered from her time as a captive as much as can be expected, but when she learns that the leader of her current home is purposely not compensating her for her services as a Banfasa so she can't leave, she is ready to find a home that will allow her freedom and appreciate her. With the help of an unexpected, new friend Margery finds herself in Cold Creek with a new job and a new start on life.

Littermates Tynan and Donal are settling into their relationship again after many years of separation due to Tynan's God-given task to stay in Seattle until he's needed. Rescuing the captured shifters ended his assignment and now he's ready to create a life alongside his brother, possibly finding a mate for them, and settling into life poking at his cantankerous healer-brother Donal. When Margery moves in next door, he enjoys interacting with the little wolf and after being assigned her mentor by their pack Alpha, he drags Donal with him in their interactions. But Donal has another idea for where their lives will go. Can they all find a way towards happiness together? Finding out is fun, entertaining, and full of thrills!

I have been waiting for Donal's story since the very first time he was introduced! It was worth the wait!

The very best part of picking up a book by Cherise Sinclair is knowing that you are going to have fully developed characters that you feel you know personally. There wasn't a single part of this book I didn't love.

Healing of the Wolf was a well-written, sometimes sexy, sometimes suspenseful, and all the time enjoyable, story of three people finding their true place in the world. My heart ached for their internal struggles, especially Margery) and seeing them overcome so much to form their bond was beautiful. I pray this isn't the end of the series and Cherise Sinclair continues to add to this fantastic world that she has created for all of us to enjoy.

Leap of the Lion (The Wild Hunt Legacy Book 4)

She shifts for the first time on the day of her escape.

After a decade of captivity, Darcy MacCormac escapes the corrupt, clandestine organization called the Scythe, leaving family and friends behind. She must find a way to rescue them. Discovered by other shifters, the brand-new cougar gets two mentors. Blademage Gawain is an easy-going blacksmith with a steel-hard core. His brother Owen is a deadly warrior. Grumpy. Rude. And he doesn’t like her.

They aren’t the mates she’d dreamed of—they’re more.

Powerful, dominating Owen protects the clan—especially the weak—and the only remnant of an abused childhood is his avoidance of females. Now he has to mentor one? Although Gawain soon falls for the dauntless little cat, Owen knows better than to lose his head. But Darcy has a gift for repairing everything…including damaged hearts.

Love isn’t in her destiny.

In the brothers’ arms, Darcy finds safety. Comfort. And love. But however much she longs for a future with Owen and Gawain, her people need her. Somehow, she must find the courage and skills to save them, even if the attempt demands her life.

So I'll just say I was unsure about this story which is why I kept putting off reading it. I've loved this series and when one as that the problems for this couple were going to be more dramatic and intense I was unsure how it would go. Because sometimes when problems escalate like they did in this book the core of the story - the love, romance & living - can get lost in the scramble and the story really just becomes about the new and dangerous problem. But thankfully this author was able to avoid that problem and she did it well. She gave us all the suspense, and drama and intense build up of this new and dangerous problem everyone's facing while still making the stories main couple and their development a priority. So the love and romance where intertwined with this problem instead of one being overshadowed by the other. Darcy was strong but she also had plenty of internal issues to deal with but she never backed away from them or ignored them or any problem which I really liked. I loved gawain and would love to see more blademages in the future because he was just yummy. And Owen grumpy and controlling but under all that you could see his caring for everyone else. It's hard to pick a favorite couple in this series because they are all so good, but this one might take the cake for now. This was a story where each part of this couple finally achieved their dreams, and the HEA was good. I'm the future I'd love to see Part in and Fell get a book, and maybe have a book where one of these new-ish females gets knocked up at a gathering in the middle of her story would be fun. So love, action suspense, plenty of hot moments and wan overall well balanced story so there's not much more you could ask for. Good story and I can't wait to see what's next, would recommend.

If you are into paranormal series, you are missing out if you haven’t treated yourself to Cherise Sinclair’s The Wild Hunt Legacy series. Centered around a small town filled with shifters, these books are full of action, emotions, some tough situations, and loads of chemistry. Each can be easily read as a standalone but I’d start from the beginning with Hour of the Lion just because you don’t want to miss any of the strong heroines and their hot, growly heroes. Cherise Sinclair has a knack for writing books that are not only seriously sexy but jam-packed with characters that have to navigate emotionally and physically difficult situations. Needless to say, I’ve been impatiently waiting for Leap of the Lion, had hugely high hopes for it and wasn’t disappointed in the least.

All three main characters have serious issues they are dealing with. Owen and Gawain are brothers raised in an abusive home with Owen taking the brunt of the abuse from their crazy mother. If that wasn’t heartbreaking enough, we are brought along for the ride as Darcy escapes from an evil group called the Scythe, who had imprisoned an entire town’s worth of shifters for years. The females are being held as hostages in order to force the males to carry out missions for the group. The females are dying off at an alarming rate and if Darcy can’t get help soon, all will be lost, especially for her brothers.

I loved Darcy. She was strong and unbelievably brave, willing to do anything to save her people even if it meant putting herself back into the very danger she escaped from. She was hardworking and loyal, and extremely smart, learning how to not only be a Daonain but also all the rules that went along with it. It’s good she was assigned two sexy, growly, and knowledgeable mentors to help her along.

As much as I loved Darcy (and Gawain too) it was Owen who completely stole my heart. He was growly, grumpy and, because of his issues with his mother, a borderline misogynist. A Cahir, or god chosen warrior for his people, he was perfectly suited for keeping his people safe from harm but his attitude needed some serious work.

Gawain was a blade mage, which made him physically tough, but it was his laid-back attitude that made him an imminently more suitable choice of mentor for Darcy, although the task of was given to them both. I think Gawain was the voice of reason, a calming influence for both Owen and Darcy.

The more Owen and Gawain got to know their new charge, the more they wanted her no matter how hard Owen fought it. As for Darcy, she developed feelings for her mentors, but she knew as soon as she had control of her newfound cougar, she needed to go help her people.

These three had lots of lessons to learn, from trust, to control, to how to forgive oneself. Leap of the Lion was an action-packed emotional journey, and although a slow burn at first, it was hot as Hades too. I can’t wait to see what happens next for the characters in The Wild Hunt Legacy.

It’s the middle of the night and I had to keep reading until I was finished. Sinclair is ruining my sleep!
As this is the last book in this series I’m sad to be finished, I’ve loved following the shifters in the little town. The tolerance, love and acceptance they show for each other is heartwarming.
There’s so many characters I would love to learn more about so I hope there will be more books.

I’ve said it before and I say it again; Sinclair has a unique way of creating a world of her own in her series, and it pulls you in so you’re a part of it.
With characters that are developed in to realistic personalities I feel like I know them.

No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings
Lots of good dialogues
Suspense that holds my interest all the way through
Sweet and steamy love scenes.

Darcy is a panther shifter but has been held captive for ten years. Her and her female villagers were held while the brothers were made soldiers and if they didn’t do as they were told, the sister was killed. They were not allowed to touch, talk, or shift. When she overheard a conversation, she escapes and gets lost in a park.
Owen is a Cahir, a warrior ,and doesn’t trust females because of his mother. Gawain is a blademage, makes magical blades for the shifters, and is Owen’s brother. Owen helps rescue Darcy and brings her back to their town. The cosantir assigns them to be mentors to Darcy. Teach her the shifter ways and how to shift, hunt, and the laws of their people.
She wants to rescue her village people but they have to find the prison first. They want to plan an attack against the prison and the soldier camp at the same time. But when the cosantir’s mate is taken, their attack must happen now and Darcy must lead the way.
I’ll be honest, it was a little confusing at first to me but the more I read, the more I loved it. Action packed, fast paced story. There are multiple men having sex with one women and then it becomes a ménage. The sex is very hot. Darcy is lovable and strong. Owen is quiet and grumpy. Garwain is big and sweet.

Eventide of the Bear (The Wild Hunt Legacy Book 3)

She risked her life to save a human child. Pain was her reward.

All her life, Emma longed for someone to love. Instead, disaster sees the brand-new bard banished from her people for long lonely years. Injured saving a child, the werebear has to steal food from humans, breaking shifter Law. The territory’s Cosantir and his lethal grizzly warrior catch her in the act. To her surprise, she’s healed and welcomed. Obviously, they don’t know her past. But oh, she can’t resist being around other shifters—especially the captivatingly powerful warrior. Maybe she can stay…just a little while.

As a grizzly warrior, Ben is ordered to house the pretty werebear until she heals. His littermate abandoned him, his home is empty, and he’s been alone for a long time. Intelligent and sweet and lushly curved, Emma is a delight…even if she is oddly reticent about her past. Although having sworn off females, he’s sorely tempted by this one. Damned if he doesn’t want to keep her, secrets or not.

Females were trouble. Years past, one split Ryder from his littermate. Now the panther shifter is returning to Ben, bringing his cub with him, a four-year-old he stole from the abusive female. To Ryder’s annoyance, his brother is sheltering a wounded bear. A female. Even worse, she’s beautiful and gentle and loving—damned if he’s going to fall for that act again. But when the dark of the moon arrives and death reigns supreme, he’ll discover that not all females are alike.

In a world filled with hellhounds and pixies, can three lonely shifters and one silent cub create a new family together?

Emma is banished from her territory unjustly and is forced to live as an outcast. She stays mostly in her bear form, scrounging for food and hibernating. When a family is attacked by a hellhound, Emma risks her life to save the child. Badly injured, she is forced to raid human campsites for food. When the guardian of the territory and his enforcer set a trap for her, she is caught in the act of breaking the law. Expecting to be punished, instead she is taken to the healer, and placed with the enforcer, a grizzly shifter named Ben, for protection.

Ben is lonely, too. His littermate and he split several years ago, and he has lived alone ever since. He is drawn to Emma, and shelters her gladly.

Ryder, Ben's littermate, learns the woman he and Ben split over, has a cub—his daughter. Angered by his mate's selfishness, he left her and vowed no woman would ever have power over him again. He hadn't known about the cub. and when he goes to check it out, he finds an abused child, mute from the trauma. He takes his child and reunites with his brother. Together the four of them try to make a home.

And then the mother comes to reclaim her child.

As I’m reading this series I can’t help wondering why this author is capable of holding my interest........
My conclusion is that her books is not just another story, it’s packed with suspense, feelings, action, sweet love scenes, realistic characters (for a shifter) and amazing world building.

There’s no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings
Plenty of dialogues
The characters and the chemistry between them is coming through in a subtle way.
A storyline that progresses steadily and with all the ups and downs it keeps me on the edge all the time.

I have many authors I one-click books from but only a few I reread and Cherise Sinclair is absolutely one of them.

Excellent series and all the books can be read as a standalone but I recommend starting from the beginning.

This book, heck this series is just good. This author not only does a great job writing stories in general but taking tales of paranormal and Otherfolk and making them with a flair that's distinctly hers. And while this is a hot and still sweet romance with menage it is one centered around the female. But it's done in a way that there are no closed doors or favoritism, and keeps the feeling of one larger relationship with multiple people rather then multiple different relationships that happen to share 1 person. I personally prefer the relationships where everyone is at least open, and sharing like here, verses one with closed doors and lots of rules. And while there's action, drama and suspense this story ended on the most adorable heartwarming HEA, would definitely recommend.

*taps mic* um, hello. My name is Ivy and I’m a book hoarder. *looks around abashed* yes, I’m the reader who has twenty million books on her kindle and yet still trolls Amazon, looking for the next shiny and pretty. I’ll even click on links for books, excited to buy it, only to realize I’d already bought it...two years ago.

All of that to explain that yes, I have had this book on my TBR (otherwise known as my Mountain), no lie, for YEARS now. I devoured all of Ms. Sinclair’s books, but I have to say that I wasn’t bowled over by Hour of the Lion, so I just pushed this to the back of my kindle and moved on. Then I reviewed Leap of the Lion (the latest book) for the blog and my brain kicked in, realizing that I still hadn’t read the second book. I started digging around in the recesses of my kindle and found this.

I shouldn’t have waited. The action starts right from the first chapter (and trigger warning - there is a rape but it’s mostly inferred, not described in detail). There was good tension throughout the story and even when it went into the stereotypical places, I was invested in the outcome, instead of just side-eyeing the characters.

I didn’t realize how much I would love Zeb, Shay and Bree. Zeb’s the (justifiably) grumpy one, Shay’s the flirty one (which of course hides his own issues), and Bree goes through a whole lot of suffering before and after finding out about her shifter side. It could have tripped way too far over into “damsel in distress” territory, but ultimately Bree is resilient, persistent, and even when she gets a bit martyr-y, she does her share and saves the day, so I loved her for it. It’s that the kinky edge that Ms. Sinclair is known for, so the smutty tingle needs are satisfied as well. This book balanced the romance and the action best of all the books, so it’s definitely my favorite.

The Bottom Line 4.25 stars

I really liked it. I still enjoyed the later books, but there are events in this book that answered some questions I had, and the elements of action and danger that I enjoyed so much in Leap of the Lion are also strong in this book. Between that and a romance that I loved, it’s definitely my favorite book of the series.

If you haven’t checked out this series and you love MFM and shifters, I think you’ll enjoy this. I would definitely recommend it.

No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings
Enough dialogues to keep my interest
The characters chemistry was sizzling and the way the men approached Brianne was helping her after terrible experience.
All the characters is well described and developed in to different personalities that evoke feelings for them in me.
The author is building a world that’s great but not without a few bad apples, as it is in the real world.
Beautiful and intense love scenes and a good bit of action and I’m hooked.

Ah, where to start . . . First, I confess a bias toward this author's work. Her series Masters of the Shadowlands, is bar none, the best in the genre. There was a time when I got upset that she was writing something else instead of more "masters", but then I would read the other books. Then I would get hooked on the other books too and wanted her to write faster. It has now reached a point where I begrudge her the time she takes to sleep! Her different series are ALL that good! Must reads! Must read the day they are released!

This seires, The Wild Hunt Legacy, is a new favorite of mine. I'd never really liked "shifter" stories much, until Cherise Sinclair wrote one. The first in the series, The Hour of the Lion, introduced a fictitious town, Cold Creek, hypothetically near my home town of Seattle. There is such detail about Seattle and the surrounding area, that I was surprised, usually people who don't live here or have not spent time here get it wrong. She brought the town to life and I end up having to convince myself "This is fiction, you cannot hop in your car and go find these people.", but you sure want to! The first book introduces us to the people who live in Cold Creek and the history and traditions of the "shifters" and other Fey culture. The story is filled with action, mystery, hot sex scenes, unpredictable events and situations, hot sex scenes, strong female characters, strong gorgeous magic males with sensitivity and scorching abilities to make females melt into sated puddles. That was the Hour of the Lion and I discussed it at some length because you need to read it first to appreciate the skill with which Cherise leads into the second book in the series. You will enjoy this second book much more if you know the Cold Creek inhabitants and their stories already.

Winter of the Wolfe has an even more complex story than the first book. Again, a strong female lead,Bree, who, after the traumatic death of a friend and her own assault and near death, finds herself involved with two powerful and desirable magic males, Shay and Zeb. These males have their own traumatic histories. They all meet in Cold Creek where we get more of our great characters from the first book. There are numerous layers to the story but Cherise blends them perfectly into this one story. The relationships of three protagonists are filled with heat, hot love and oh my god, more hot love. The story takes you on an exciting roller coaster in and out of danger and pack political intrigue and did I mention, hot love. All of the characters are multi dimensional. No flat cookie cutter characters ever in books by this author

Now I want the next book in the series. ARE YOU LISTENING CHERISE? NO MORE SLEEPING MORE THAN 2 HOURS A DAY. MORE MASTERS AND MORE WILD HUNT LEGACY, ASAP!

CHERISE IS "THE" BEST AT MASTERS AND SHIFTERS AND HOT LOVE! UNFORTUATELY HER BOOKS ARE ADDICTING. YOU WILL FIND YOURSELF WRITING ON HER FACEBOOK PAGE, TELLING HER TO WRITE FASTER AND STOP SLEEPING SO MUCh.

This book starts with a high tension scene and pulls you in immediately. The author has created a heroine who behaves consistently given her background and the plot complications that develop because of her choices grow out of her character. I enjoyed this book even though the sex the heroine had with one of the two men was mildly dom/sub and that's not my thing. The author skirts the problem of not having a safe word because the participants are emotionally linked and he knows that she's only unsure and doesn't actually mean "No." That didn't work for me. However the sex with the other man felt mutually passionate and joyful.

The relationships were more developed than just sex, making the emotional dilemmas believable. This is the first in a series and Sinclair does a good job of creating an entire community to set future stories in. I'll be looking for Book 2.

This book is so good even after reading it multiple times. It is the start of a great series with lots of world building, and I still pick up new details on re-reads. It's a paranormal story set in the mountains and while being paranormal \supernatural it's a subtler feeling take on it. It feels rooted in history and legend, maybe with things lost over time but not gone. It's paranormal with shifters and far and demons and such but it's not eccentric, or overly dramatic if that makes sense. This story does have its own HEA but there is a kind of large over-arching story / problem that continues into future books. And the romance is hot. It's to me this kind of slow burn meets fast burn. It's also a menage/why choose type love where the men are solely romantically focused on the woman. That being said doesn't mean there's not some hot, interesting, and group activities that take place. All the characters in this story are well developed and I loved them all but that didn't mean There wasn't also moments I wanted to shake them. If you like paranormal even a little or maybe want to get your feet wet, or you like some suspense and actions of your just looking for a hot romance you've found it. Would definitely recommend.

I am an avid Cherise Sinclair fan.. I love her books.. but I am not a real fan of paranormal/shifter.. until NOW.. waiting for the next Sinclair book to come out, and having an amazon gift card burning a hole in my pocket.. I figured "oh why not" and I am so glad I did.. holy smokes.. Cherise drew me in from the very beginning and kept me there... the book is so well written..the characters - all of them - make you want to be there with them.. Alec, Calum and Vicki... their story is not only believable but grabs a hold of you and doesn't let go.. I am pretty sure I hit every emotion with the first book (and I immediately purchased the other 2) and I didn't want to finish only because I didn't want it to be over!
Forget any preconceived notions about shifter books - the world Cherise creates in this series is one you can believe in and one you want to be in!

Another great book by Ms. Sinclair! Absolutely loved it! This was a little bit different from other shifter books I have read before and I enjoyed the change. Cherise does a great job developing her story and her characters. The romance, suspense and action flowed so well throughout the book. So glad I read it!
