This is why I read romances – to escape into a world that is magical and where good triumphs over evil.” ~ BookAddict Reviews
A decade in captivity tore away all hope.
But Margery never lost her resolve to help the sick. The village she’d hoped to serve as banfasa, caring for the ill and injured, is long gone. Humans captured the young shifters and killed the adults. Finally rescued, she has a chance at her dreams—at least for meaningful work. With her leg crippled and her face scarred, she knows she has no hope of ever finding love.
Tynan is ready to find their mate.
After years away from his littermate as a police officer among humans, Tynan is finally home, a beta in the wolf pack, and serving his people as a law officer. Assigned as Margery’s mentor in the pack, he patiently works to earn the skittish little wolf’s trust. Her captivity has left her with problems, including a fear of uniforms. But he’s a fixer at heart—and he’s starting to want more from the gentle female than just friendship.
Donal has no intention of making a family.
Separated from his littermate for years, Donal has remained unmated, devoting his energies to healing. Believing ugly rumors about their new neighbor—a banfasa—he won’t have her in his clinic or his life—no matter what his newly returned brother wants.
But a feral shifter’s attack on Tynan shows Margery in a whole different light. She’s levelheaded, compassionate, sweet—and far too appealing. What male could resist her?
But even as the brothers work to win their mate, cruel forces move to crush their entire clan.

I was surprised to see this book but surprised in the best way. This series is an automatic buy.
While the author plays in the paranormal, the reader enjoys the familiar concepts of shifterdom with twists unique to Cherise Sinclair. I have read the entire series, and this was a quicker read than some of the other books.
I like that two of my series favorites found a forever woman. I liked the female character. I didn't come to love her. The warm fuzzies of the female bonding and cub love hit perfectly, but some of the long time characters felt flat in places.
I was thrilled to see the Murphy brothers show up and I was thrilled to see more world building. I was thrilled to see Darcy's brothers and the previous beloved characters (all in the proper moderation, meaning glimpses instead of embedded novellas to previous star characters). I was thrilled with most of the plot. It just missed something...
There is a lot of plot work in this book. I felt several characters and Consantir areas are revealed to the reader which will lead into future books. I feel that plot opportunities abound in the series and I look forward to the next installment.
Four stars from a tough critic. Cherise Sinclair is a remarkable talent. I read all her series but one. This will not be my favorite, but not every book can be the favorite...
A few minor editing issues but the issues rarely disturbed the natural flow while reading.

Cherise Sinclair is one of my favorite authors. I've never read a bad book of hers. The Wild Hunt Legacy series is such a fun shifter romance series that is outside of her more often written about contemporary BDSM subjects, but that doesn't make it any less phenomenal. I re-read this series often.
A shifter world based off a unique shifter history in which they descend from the Fae and follow the God of the Hunt, Hern and Goddess (spelling and names may be wrong on that). Shifters are one of three things: wolves, bears, or large cats and their society is run by God determined leaders. Many are also God-touched and serve purposes such as protectors, healers, and more. They have low birthrates so follow a monthly practice of requiring Gatherings, where females go into heat and all unmated shifters attend a massive party that, hopefully, leads to many gather-bred babies.
Margery has recovered from her time as a captive as much as can be expected, but when she learns that the leader of her current home is purposely not compensating her for her services as a Banfasa so she can't leave, she is ready to find a home that will allow her freedom and appreciate her. With the help of an unexpected, new friend Margery finds herself in Cold Creek with a new job and a new start on life.
Littermates Tynan and Donal are settling into their relationship again after many years of separation due to Tynan's God-given task to stay in Seattle until he's needed. Rescuing the captured shifters ended his assignment and now he's ready to create a life alongside his brother, possibly finding a mate for them, and settling into life poking at his cantankerous healer-brother Donal. When Margery moves in next door, he enjoys interacting with the little wolf and after being assigned her mentor by their pack Alpha, he drags Donal with him in their interactions. But Donal has another idea for where their lives will go. Can they all find a way towards happiness together? Finding out is fun, entertaining, and full of thrills!

I have been waiting for Donal's story since the very first time he was introduced! It was worth the wait!
The very best part of picking up a book by Cherise Sinclair is knowing that you are going to have fully developed characters that you feel you know personally. There wasn't a single part of this book I didn't love.
Healing of the Wolf was a well-written, sometimes sexy, sometimes suspenseful, and all the time enjoyable, story of three people finding their true place in the world. My heart ached for their internal struggles, especially Margery) and seeing them overcome so much to form their bond was beautiful. I pray this isn't the end of the series and Cherise Sinclair continues to add to this fantastic world that she has created for all of us to enjoy.
